The film maker shows that brown knew the clerks and didnt rob them, but instead traded marijuana for cigarillos. Mike gives the store a little bag of weed. You can see the employee smelling it and passing it around. Then you clearly see mike given two big boxes of cigarillos, he is about to leave the store but decides to have the clerk hold the things behind the counter for him.
