It took the toll on everybody in the community. I looked at my husband in panic and i turned and you could see debrees going like this in the air. Tonight it remains a mystery why a vintage plane from world war ii plunged into the hudson river between new york and new jersey killing the pilot. Today nearly 24 hours after the crash the plane was pulled from the water which might provide investigators with critical clues as to why it fell out of the sky. Police spent hours trying to find him and today lifting his plane from the water and transferring it to a nearby dock to be inspected. The plane is largely still intact, its wings slightly bent and police say they did have to pull the pilots body from the cockpit. S. Airways flight landed on the river in 2009 and everyone survived. Back on long island today, gordon was remembered as a consummate proffesional. The age group that is most at risk of being involved in these incidents are 3yearolds. Barely old enough to know how to say the word gun, let alone know what it is or how to use it.
