That is prompting flooding concerns because more rain is on the rain. In fact, as early as tomorrow night more rain. Chuck is live near the anderson dam. All this rain getting tough for the reservoirs. Reporter i can tell you that the Santa Clara ValleyWater District is saying that the concern for possible flooding is either late sunday or early monday. Now Anderson Reservoir is 101 of capacity. The concern however is not for down there, those lights of morgan hill but rather for parts of east san jose. So waters been spilling down the spillway all day, its a concrete lined spillway that is holding very much together. The release down the spillway to draw down as much water as possible. The spillway released from Anderson Reservoir will not lead to flooding in morgan hill, according to water officials but approaching storms could cause problems down stream where coyote creek flows through low lying parts of east san jose. Theres areas around kelly park area, theres some low points there, some possible parks and roads that could be flooded first. Reporter saturday morning Anderson Reservoir crested over the lip of its spillway, fell in the cascade toward coyote creek. We dont see water like this every ten, 20 years. To see it flowing. Theres another reason why so much water is being released. The dam is considered vulnerable to a 7. 25 magnitude earthquake. It is required to be kept only 68 full because of that. We started releasing water from that outlet full blast in january 9th when this reservoir was less than half full. So we anticipated. The uvas reservoir thats 103 full. It is actually been overcapacity now for a couple weeks. The water level at Lake Oroville is dropping but engineers and crews are working nonstop this weekend to make repairs to the emergency spillway and the erosion damage beneath it. Last weekend 200,000 people in Northern California had been evacuated over fears the emergency spillway for fail. They dont believe the incoming rain will push the lake high enough to cause another dangerous situation but theyll be monitoring it all weekend. Tonight is about drying out but as we mentioned the rain wont be away for long. Youre looking at our live camera. North bay is going to be one of the first areas to see strong rain starting late tomorrow night into monday morning and we mean strong. Meteorology rob mayeda tracking the incoming rain. The flood risk not just extending from the north bay to San Francisco but really the entire bay air once again under a flood watch. This is for late tomorrow into monday but the highest risk for some local flooding, up toward the north bay. Some locations possibly picking up about four to five inches of rain. Well isolate for you the highest risk right there not north bay. And the east bay and also through the Santa Cruz Mountains especially we could get four to six inches of rain. So Flooding Risk will go up later tomorrow as the rain rates pick up and this storm we think is going to linger over the bay area for most of mondays. Rises even on the largest rivers. Operators cancelled it at the urging of police and to protect the safety of employees. On Facebook Police said they had reason to believe there would be a threat to Public Safety if the band performed and police say the venue did not give the special events unit proper time to discuss a security plan. Police also said on facebook that based on the riot that occurred in berkeley in regards to Milo Yiannopoulos speaking at the university its reasonable to believe there would be a threat to the Public Safety if these groups showed up to protest the band.
