It did flood in the mid 90s and since then theyve poured hundreds of millions of dollars into Flood Control projects. This was the scene in downtown san jose in 1995, heavy rains left streets, homes and businesses partially urn wander water. Since then its been one Flood Control project after another. Downtown guadalupe has bypass channels that have been working great through the years. Reporter it should be able to with stand the storms this weekend, same for the silver creek. The crews just completed that project a few weeks ago. The Water District is works on the san fran see to creek near highway 101 in palo alto. We have a lot of flood projects that have been completed and that are ongoing and planned for the future. This is what could bring the flooding rains to the Santa Cruz Mountains, maybe the south bay. This could be the scenario where the south bay gets more wet weather than the north bay. If it moves more to the south, we could see our forecast numbers go a lot lower in terms of rainfall. Heres how we see it right now. Were loncked in in red with tw to four inches of rain. The purple getting close to san jose, maybe in this three to four inch rain zone and then for the Santa Cruz Mountains the brighter purple, four to eight inches possible.
