Under a pilot program, shuttles there now pay a nominal fee to stop at some muni locations. Now the bta is working on a similar strategy here. Perhaps allowing corporate shuttles to pick up their employees at park and ride locations. For a fee. We need to protect every member of public. Vandals wreaked havoc on 13 businesses in the neighborhood last night. Much of it shown on live tv. The head of the telegraph Business Improvement district wrote an open letter to city leaders blasting the departments failures. We know that they did make several arrests last night. Gunshots rang out at the end of a concert. A witness who didnt want did show his face described what happened as people left the brick and mortar music hall in the Mission District just before 1 00 a. M. Reporter everybody was walking out. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop we didnt know, everybody just started running, chaos, mayhem. Youve got people laying. It was a gruesome scene. Just as people were making it outside the club, more people started yelling to run back inside. That caused people to run in and out of the club not knowing which direction to go. A south Bay CommunityCollege Closed because of a credible threat. Authorities evacuated students and staff from West Valley College in saratoga today. A spokesperson for the college says someone left an anonymous note inside a counseling office. According to that note, someone talked about leaving explosives in a backpack on campus. Officers have finished sweeping the campus but didnt find anything. The college will stay closed for the rest of this Holiday Weekend. Clamping down hard. Today the epa proposed strict new standards on smog pollution. And while some say the regulations will save lives, others say its going to cost money and too many jobs. Epa says cleaner air comes with a price. Critics say the price too is high and they plan to fight it. Hello, clean air. Goodbye, smog. The epas tough new policy is aimed at slashing pollution over the next decade limiting ozone pollution to a range of 65 to 70 parts per billion, down from 75 parts per billion set by president george w. By saturday and sunday, thats when our next storm system is lining up. The timing has changed from this time yesterday. Thats the biggest change in our forecast. Everything is kind of pushed ahead one day on these two storms were tracking. The first one is saturday and sunday. Were going to be getting rainfall out of this. The storm looks to break apart as it moves into the bay area. I think most of that rains going to be north bay. The second and stronger storm where the core of the storm is going to move right on top of the bay area is still expected to come our way. But its not going to get here until monday and tuesdays forecast. So better if youre expecting anyone to come home on sunday. Doesnt look as bad. Still into next week, areas of thunderstorms, wind, and also heavy rainfall. So lets go ahead and get into what we can expect with these storm systems. That first one,. 1 to. 75 inches. No doubt the highest totals in the north bay. South bay may get. 1 inches. Second storm system monday and tuesday looks like heavy rainfall. 1 to 2 inches. Winds that could happen 40 miles per hour.
