Reporter good evening, the man was in the crosswalk behind me and the bus was making a lefthand turn on mission and the witness said the light was turning red as the bus was making the turn. You can see theres red light cameras here at intersection so police are expected to review that footage to determine exactly what happened. Police say the bus driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The accident happened at about 8 00 this morning, and the bus is operated by a tour Company Called gray line of San Francisco. The Company Tells us that in addition to the driver three sightseers were aboard the bus. They were not hurt. The witness said the light was turning red and the bus sped up to make it through the intersection. Definitely tried to beat the light, like he was more on the red side than the yellow side but hes a big bus, all the cars saw him coming so nobody like tried to take off during the light, no car went. He had the whole thing and, yeah. Now these kinds of accidents appear to be on rise. 22 pedestrians died last year in sfris coach the highest number since 1997. Drivers are being urged to slow down and pedestrians to pay more attention to their surrounding. San francisco voters will decide in november whether to approve a 17 million project aimed at improving safety at several key intersections in the city. As for todays accident, police say the victim was taken to San FranciscoGeneral Hospital with lifethreatening injuries and the tour Company Issued a statement saying our company has been in business for 25 years with a perfect safety record. Thanks, month. New information in a homicide case from castro valley. Deputies have now issued an arrest warrant for the victims husband. Authorities found the body ever 46yearold friday. Deputies say her husband is the primary suspect at this point. They say hes considered to be armed and dangerous. According to deputies he may be driving the family vehicle which is a silver toyota raff 4, and it may have paper plates. Police in Southern California say they still have no solid leads after two parent allegedly kidnapped their four children. The chp issued a statewide amber alert yesterday. This billboard in palo alto is alerting drivers to be alert. The missing children with a 7yearold boy, a 5yearold boy and twin 1yearold girls. The couple did not have custody of the children. Police believe the parents are driving this plumcolored peachy cruiser with tinted windows. The car also likely has a paper license plate with no official state tag. Some people in the south bay woke up in the middle of the night to feigned a neighbors home engumped in flames and they thank a Good Samaritan for alerting them. Mountainview police are just clearing out nearly 16 hours after that fire started. Neighbors say they saw the officer here all day bagging what appeared to be pieces of evidence perhaps to help determine the cause of the fire which neighbors say they are all anxious to know since most of the homes in this area were built about the same time. Nourishing the fire started about 2 30 this morning. A man who was driving some friends home at the time told us he saw the smoke and flames and immediately called 911. He started running to homes and banging on doors to get neighbors up and out of their homes in case that fire spread. Neighbors say they are so grateful to that Good Samaritan. Police were able to contain the fire which caused significant damage to the home. No one was inside at the time of the fire. The wife comes to the bed and shakes me and said get up, get up. Somethings happening out here, and all i could see was red trucks. Theres about six fire trucks. I feel bad for these people, you know. At least they werent home. Thats the good news, but, boy, boy, thats a tough one. At least they are safe. Fire fighters say the homeowners have been notified, and the damage to the home is significant enough that they will have to find another place to stay for now. Two years ago today a teenager from the south bay disappeared and family and friends marked the anniversary with a new memorial. They dedicated a bench in honor of the school she once attended. Latt mar family and volunteers have searched for the 15yearold every saturday since she went missing and say they will continue to search. We were just holding out hope that somehow somewhere well find her alive still. And colin Garcia Torrez has been charged with kidnapping and murdering lamar but her body has not been found. The 15yearold was last seen outside her home in morgan hill. New developments in the search for that missing plane from malaysia. Officials say there are now 25 countries involved in the search. So far five countries, including india and pakistan, say their radar disease not pick up the plane. Meanwhile, investigators are looking closely into the lives of the pilot and copilot. They believe whoever disabled the Communications Systems and flew that plane must have had significant aviation experience. Both their homes have been searched. The pilot had built a Flight Simulator at his home. We have dismantled it from the room, and we have assembled it at our office, and we are getting experts to look at it now. Authorities are also investigating the engineers and ground staff who worked on the plane before it took off and all passengers on board. The disappearance of that malaysian jet is exposing a security gap, and a u. S. Senator is vowing to fix t. Investigators discovered two men boarded that plane with stolen passports. Its an error senator Chuck Schumer says should not have happened since interpol, the International Poll organization, has a database dedicated to stolen passports. Schumer says only three countries currently use the database, the United States, Great Britain and the united arab emirates. The technology exists to stop the bad guys before they board our planes and enter our country, so there is absolutely no reason why we shouldnt put pressure on these other countries to use it. Schoumers legislation, if approved, would remove countries from the United StatesVisa Waiver Program if they dont use the database. Official results are not expected to until tomorrow, but officials in crimea say that with 50 of the vote counted more than 90 approve splitting from ukraine.
