This is just after 2 00 in the morning on darwin drive. A 18yearold girl died at the scene, and the mother was rushed to the hospital severely injured. The mother is expected to survive. Police say an illegal act could have caused the crash. One was making a uturn and the other was coming from, you know, southbound going northbound. So one of them probably ran a red light. Police say the two men in the second car suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash is being investigated. The cleanup and investigation of a massive fire at a construction site continues. Crews safely dismantled an unstable crane that was damaged in the fivealarm fire yesterday. This is in emeryville. The mangled crane was a threat to topple over nearby homes and power lines.
