It all happened when police were trying to catch the man in a walnut creek neighborhood. Elise, how did this get started . Reporter it all started police say when the suspect hit a pedestrian, then police and a canine dog caught up with that man a few miles away. The officers car was backed into that truck. Reporter then he ran inside his house. As i turned, oh, mahes pullg a firearm. Reporter Authorities Say 33yearold Rolando Gonzalez crashed into the patrol car, then took off on foot. The canine was sent into the bushes to apprehend the suspect. Reporter police fired tasers, bean bags, and unleashed a canine. The canine received several stab wounds from the suspect, about the area of her head and throat. Reporter police say gonzalez stabbed the dog several times, but fought him off, allowing the suspect to be arrested without harming anyone else. But shana was left with several stitches. She was able to take him into custody, which is what we needed. Reporter police say the canine is expected to make a full recovery and will even be back on the job in just a few weeks. Meanwhile, that suspect is facing several charges, including harming a police dog, driving under the influence, and resisting arrest. Thank you, elyce. Well touch base with them later, but they said its upsetting that someone would do this and now theyre asking for help. These trees were paid for with city and federal dollars and theyre asking for donations to replant them. Another thing to think about, these were planted in april, and they had been watered twice a week since they were planted. So not only is it the loss of the tree but also all that water. A much colder wind in San Francisco, putting you at 67. As we head through tomorrow mornings forecast, the fog comes on back here to San Francisco. Also areas of drizzle. Temperatures in the low 50s and expect the clouds to come on back here to the peninsula. 53 degrees in the south bay. I want to show you how widespread the fog is at the coast li coastline. All the way from here to santa cruz. That will help temperatures stay on the cool to mild side. Theres another thing thats helping to keep temperatures below average. So lets take a look at that.
