We have plenty of rain here in the bay area, but up in the mountains, well, theyre expecting between 4 and 10 inches of fresh powder. A Winter Weather advisory is out until 5 00 tomorrow morning. Winter weather advisory, and spring just started. Jeff ranieri joins us now with the forecast. And that mix of april showers, which were more like a deluge today. I dont think anyone is complaining with our current drought in place. Its been pockets of moderate and heavier rain. You can see the scanning Doppler Radar at the very current moment here, its all about San Francisco down south bay for more of this consistent, moderate and also still heavier pockets. Really from San Francisco down to about palo alto on 280, also on highway 101, specifically in palo alto, youre going to be able to see the rainfall rate pretty strong at. 41 of an inch per hour. We careful if youre out and about doing any traveling tonight. As we head through tomorrow mornings forecast, well keep that chance of showers for the south bay, peninsula, also for the east bay. Mainly starting off cloudy in San Francisco in the north bay with 40s to also low 50s. The biggest problem we have in the forecast as we head throughout tuesday will come at the immediate coastline with our surf. Right now waves are 10 to about 12 feet, but they could go as high as 20 feet. So watch out if youre doing anything near the beach tomorrow with this high surf ald vidviso effect. Now lets pinpoint the rainfall that weve been dealing with. Youll see well still keep the chance of spotty scattered showers for tomorrow morning, nothing major. Then well hold on to that slight chance into about 2 00 tomorrow afternoon. After this in the forecast High Pressure builds in and thats going to warm our temperatures up. As you see in the scrolling sevenday forecast, this reintroduces some low 70s wednesday, thursday and also on fridays forecast. Even with this area of High Pressure in place, we still have made some headway in the drought, so i think were not going to lose too many gains that weve made in the drought. Youll see on this current level here abnormally dry in the north bay down the peninsula. This is a huge departure from the severe level of drought we were in back in november and also some marked improvement from extreme down to severe for contra costa and also alameda counties. As we take you into your microclimate forecast for tuesday, it will stay cool. San francisco, just upper 50s in the marina and everyone with that chance of scattered showers. For the peninsula, 59 in pacifica. Over towards palo alto, 63. For the south bay, san jose comes in at 60 and a little warmer in cupertino at 62. For the north bay, east bay and also the trivalley, jacket weather in place throughout napa, santa rosa and mill valley, but once again you may need the sunglasses for a little bit and you might possibly need to pop open that umbrella. Oakland at 62 and the trivalley will have temperatures coming in at the low 60s. Our rain outlook the next seven days has that chance of scattered showers for tomorrow, nothing major. High pressure stays in place from wednesday right through this upcoming weekend. And then as we look ahead towards april, we have average chances of rain. Bottom line just five solid weeks left of el nino to pick up some major rainfall, so were still thinking in april, raj and jess, we could get a few more storms. We just have to wait and see.
