Silicon valley is now asking the Sheriffs Office to release the name of the inmate who died last week. It also wants the names of the three guards. Sources close to the investigation told nbc bay area the inmate may have died after being beaten or aggressively restrained by the guards. Sheriffs office is awaiting the coroners report, which will have the cause of death. We have some new video of a confrontation between psych clifts and a driver in San Francisco. Take a look at this. It happened during friday nights critical mass, the bike ride. A zipcar was trying to inch past a requireider. The rider yells at the driver for bumping his bike. More prisoners showing signs of legionnaires disease. Now six confirmed cases, and 73 other inmates showing symptoms. Nbc bay areas Jodi Hernandez is at san quentin this evening where an Inmate Advocacy Group is demanding access behind the prison walls. How realistic is this request . Reporter well, raj, prison officialssinsist they are taking every step possible to make sure the inmates are safe and healthy. But tonight the prison advocates or inmate advocates are becoming increasingly worried. This could be very serious. People can die from this. Reporter thats the worry of inmate advocates, as more san quentin prisoners fall ill with symptoms consistent with legionnaires disease. While the toilets are back in use, sinks and faucets remain dry. Six inmates have now tested positive for the potentially deadly legionnaires disease, which has spread through water droplets. 73 more are sick and are being monitored. Prison Officials Say theyre testing every possible source, including their 3 million gallon water tank. Unfortunately, i cant come out today and tell you that i can give you a definitive answer on when this is going to be solved. Reporter tonight folks at the prison law office, which offers Free Legal Services to inmates, is demanding access to the prison, so they can talk to the inmates and see the conditions for themselves. Im very worried. This is a crisis, its something that needs immediate action. And prisoners can die from this disease. Reporter now late today, san quentin officials confirmed they will allow folks to come into the prison tomorrow to talk with inmates. A followup now on the east bay book club booted off the Napa Valley Wine Train a week ago. The group has not filed a lawsuit against the trains owners, but their attorney isnt ruling it out. The 11 members used cell phones to record their removal from the train when another passenger complained they were too noisy. The book club has retained a San Francisco civil rights attorney. He has said he intends to sue the train for up to 5 million. Today he tells us no lawsuit has been filed, because he plans to meet with wine train executives first. Those two wooden poles, those are the temporary fixes at this point. They will need to replace them with metal towers, and when they put that project in, likely 101 will have to be closed down again. Saturday traffic along 101 looked more like a congested weekday rush hour. Bumper to bumper conditions along the highway, then a quiet day at the porsche audi dealership in burlingame. We rely on weekend traffic. There was none to be had. It was all stuck in the on the streets. Reporter highway 101 closed in both directions friday, and again sunday night to make repairs following a crash on a cal tran construction site at the broadway bridge in burlingame. An employee with a Contract Company jaffa construction crashed, causing the pouls to fall on to the highway. Now our focus turns to getting that tower replaced and getting the two wooden poles replaced, ultimately a metal tower. Reporter pg e says its likely 101 will be shut down again. But when that will happen is still being figured out. Meantime, businesses in the area fear another traffic jam will hurt their bottom line. We all kind of felt it. We didnt get that many tips. Our nbc helicopter was over the tarmac this afternoon as maintenance crews began repairing the damage. Heres what the plane looked like before the collision. Now here is the damage after. You can see that a big chunk of the wing tip is gone. It came into contact last night when one of the jets was being pushed back from the gate. No one on board either plane was hurt. Southwest says its doing an internal review to figure out what went wrong. Not just crooked but now lombard street just got more crowded. Its a welcome relief. An Ambassador Program. Just last week, you might recall two men robbed a tourist right near the end of the crooked street. The cell phone video showing some Good Samaritans helping. Lombard is a hot spot for thieves. For a lot of people, rent is due tomorrow. And a lot of people cannot afford their rent hikes. San Jose City Council is now considering stricter rent control. One couple tells us their landlord hiked their rent by 21 beginning tomorrow, september 1st. They complained, and compromised that an 18. 5 hike, which means theyll have to come up with an extra 375 bucks each month. Actually, i dont have options. Thats why i have to sign the lease tomorrow. I have to just make it happen. Extremely high, yes. And i think they know that a lot of people have no other options, and so they take advantage. Tomorrow san Jose City Council will consider capping relent hikes at 4 per year. It was it is the last day of august, and it is a glorious day. Lets check in with jeff ranieri. And what youre going to see here is throughout the bay area, we will begin with the patchy areas of fog in San Francisco in the peninsula, but i dont think its going to be a totally cloudy morning to start. Well even have some chillier temperatures here in the south bay with 59 and partly cloudy skies. The forecast this week has the storm track just off to the north with this trough of low pressure. Thats where the best rain chances will be. For us, High Pressure building across the four corners and that does have some hotter air associated with it. But the good news, the reason why were not going to get extremely hot is we have that fog that will be building up at the immediate coastline, as we head throughout tuesday. So i think its going to be on the comfortable side here through tomorrows forecast. As you look ahead through the rest of this week and this weekend, the storm track will stay just off to the north. So that will keep 100s away in the forecast through this coming saturday and sunday but unfortunately the rain will remain off to the north. So what i want to show you next is the expected rainfall over the next seven days, and the good news about this, even though the bay area is not expecting any rainfall at the current moment, is all the wildfires that have been burning throughout the northwest. Check out the rainfall totals. They could range anywhere from 1 to maybe 2. 5 inches, that goes from seattle right back into montana. In fact, some areas of montana could see 3, maybe 5 inches. So great news through the west, at least in getting this fire danger down. Lets get a look at the microclimate forecast as we head throughout tuesday. We said it would be comfortable. 84 degrees and sunny skies, a little hotter towards Santa Theresa with 87 but not uncomfortable. For the peninsula, you get your cool typical 60s in pacifica with 69. Lets take you to the north bay, east bay and also for the tri valley. We get slight cooling tomorrow in danville, pleasanton and livermore. East bay, 76 in oakland and expecting 87 in walnut creek. By this upcoming weekend forecast, temperatures do go hotter on saturday and sunday. But again, temperatures at this point look to stay out of the 100s as we head into this labor day weekend.
