The engine is set up at station 34 because its home station was closed on december 23rd because of mold problems. Its the possible delays that has the Firefighters Union concerned about when station 16 will be reopened and when the engine can be put back. Normally four to six minutes to be on scene. Now its probably twice as long to get water on the fire. Reporter the union also points out that even though station 16 has a rescue truck on hand its not equipped to fight fires. I do know theres been multiple fires. Some of them going up to multiple alarm fires when theyve had to wait for water. I think that the perpetrators can be identified and apprehended, they should serve jail time. Reporter the Animal Services say the owner of the dogs could face animal cruelty charges.
