Crews were able to right an 18wheeler. You see it right there. It overturned in the middle of the road this afternoon. This is what the mess looked like just a few hours ago, and crews were at that truck right there to help clean up. Chp closed the mission boulevard exit off 680 for several hours. Just one lane was open each way, and traffic was backed up for miles. But once again, all lanes have been reopened. Its not clear why that truck overturned. A husband and wife arrested after a deadly crime spree faced a judge for the first time day. Prosecutors filed a long list of charges against Marcela Marquez and janelle monroy, including murder for the death of Daniel Oliver and michael davis. But Officials Say more charges are expected. There is still a lot of things that we still have to do. We have to process meticulously nine, 10 cars for evidence. We have to obtain court orders. We have to go through many different scenes. Well, the guidelines for cdc have changed. So we feel that theyre not prepared. Hospitals need to follow the optimal guidelines issued by the cdc. As nurses spoke to reporters today outside of uc San Francisco and uc san diego medical centers. Five medical center, including one here in the bay area, have been named priority hospitals to treat confirmed ebola cases, should there be any in california. Not enough people are listening, and not enough people are saving, despite calls for a 20 reduction in water use. The south bay has only managed to cut back by 12 . And thats one of the reasons that the santa clara Water District is looking at other ways to save water. What are some of those options, marion . Reporter well, they are going to consider several, including a tiered system, jessi jessica. The meeting starts here at 6 00 tonight. And our water supply is so low, that the district is considering entering into phase three water restrictions. And tonight, the board is going to look at what that should mean for the public. Now the santa clara water valley districts water supply is way down after one of the driest seasons on record. So far, users have only managed to cut back 12 since february. So tonight, the board will hear recommendations on how to save more water. Were looking at tiered rates. It would be sort of a steppedup rate process. As alternatives. The district was planning to lift the 20 conservation request at the end of this year, but it looks like the board could extend it through 2015. A place they go to get their lives extended. Or in the case of this 70yearold 78 rpm broken record, be brought back to life. And matt has waited decades to hear it. Lieutenant ray flew 50 missions over Southern Europe in the second world war. Matt says as a child, he used to pore over pictures of his grandfather at war, imagining the adventures. And that was good enough, for a kid. When i got older, my curiosity kind of went beyond that. I actually wanted to know some of the facts beyond just the pictures. Reporter so matt, at the time a Television Reporter in fresno, poured himself into the research, eventually producing a twopart tv series about his grandfathers serivice. Yet still missing something he would have loved to have had. The voice of my grandfather. Reporter until matt found these earlier this year, in the garage of his grandmothers home while helping her move. It seems on returning from the war in 1944, ray sat down for an interview with an omaha, nebraska, radio station. And they recorded the interviews on two 78s. Records that matts family lost track of years and years ago. Now they were so close, literally in his hands, yet still lost in a way. Theres a radial crack on both of them, which makes them unplayable. Reporter which led him to andover and Technology Developed at Livermore Berkeley labs where a camera captures High Resolution images of the records groove, and then a computer processes the pictures into sound. Sound that matt, along with his father, are about to listen to for the first time. What were you doing before the war . I was working in a grocery store, my mothers grocery store. Reporter a small piece of American History perhaps. Well, we started out in amsterdam. Reporter but one that couldnt sound any bigger to one mans ears. This is precious, right . I mean, this is it. So its really nice to finally hear it. And that was the first time they heard it. Remarkable. One of the things that matt and his dad said, one thing he will do, is listen to it over and over and over again, because the first listen to they were just thrilled to hear his voice, the grandfathers voice, and how he spoke at that age. Now they want to go back and listen to it again and again and pick out details of the war service that obviously matt has been looking forward to hearing for decades. And what amazing technology, to be able to bring back a voice from the past. They have used that on some of the oldest known recordings to bring the sound back. Brought him back to life. By this friday, though, our storm system is still on the way. Temperatures are going to crash some 20 degrees, and the forecast models still keep the rain day on friday. The thing we should talk about, though, is the intensity of the storm system is going down a little bit. But, again, it still looks wet as we head throughout halloween. As we look at the morning forecast, areas of widespread rainfall will develop in the late Morning Hours into the early afternoon. It will likely continue with a bounce of rainfall throughout the evening, until about 5 00 p. M. In the late evening, we may see a few breaks in the weather, but overall still a chance of rain. By saturday morning, well clear out. Totals bring us across the bay area at least a quarter of an inch down across the south bay, and possibly close to half an inch up into the north bay. Computer models are still fine tuning this. Thats why youll see several locations have the same amount of rainfall here. But you get the idea. We have rainfall coming, and it is expected on friday. So far on the halloween forecast, were still calling for the chance of rain. Temperatures in the 60s, and a little bit of wind. We still have about two days more that we could see the timing shift.
