They put up warning notices at sea bright beach advising people not to go into the water because of what rangers called a credible report of a shark devouring a seal just off the beach yesterday. She described seeing some thrashing around in the water. And then the harbor seal being thrown in the air and seeing the head of the shark sticking out of the water. You know, i definitely want to put my feet in the water but i dont think im going to be like surfing or swimming in the ocean as intensely as i thought i would be. Reporter at about the same time the advisory was put up at sea bright, rangers officially closed nearby manof tresa beach because a surfer reported being attacked by a shark there saturday. This is video of beau brownings surfboard with what appears to be a chunk missing. By phone, browning told me he was shaken up but not injured. He dragged me in the water about five seconds. Once he let go i had to get rid of my leash. The more i look at the board i wonder if he broke it with his head instead of his teeth. Were looking for more information from other witnesses that might have seen it, were looking to get a chance to examine his surfboard and look at the damage that occurred. Since the 1950s, there have been more than 100 reported encounters with great white sharks in california. 13 of them deadly. In july, a young great white attacked a swimmer in Southern California near manhattan beach. The 50yearold victim was hospitalized but survived. A popular north beach bar in San Francisco has a huge mess on its hands after a car crashed through the front doors this afternoon around 1 30 this afternoon at the comstock saloon near the corner of columbus and pacific avenues. Two customers and a driver were hurt but not seriously. The driver had a warrant out for allegedly selling marijuana in sacramento county. He was taken into custody. Developing news in mexico tonight. Locals and american tourists dealing with a category 3 hurricane. This is in the resort city of cabo san lucas. High pressure has been responsible for several days of 90s to 100degree weather the past several weeks. Its been blocking any kind of storm systems to move our way. But what youre going to see is that area of High Pressure is clearing out as we head throughout tomorrow. Weve got this region of low pressure to the south basically helping to keep fog at the immediate coastline. Then eventually by wednesday night and thursday, two different storm systems line up off of california to bring our chance of rainfall. There is some model disagreement with how much rainfall we may get. But all in all what you should know is by wednesday, 6 00 p. M. , well start to see the possibility of a few showers up in the north bay. You can see a bit of green showing up on our computer. As we advance it, this is a look at some of the estimates of rainfall we may get. North bay has the best possibility of getting any kind of rainfall. Maybe. 05 to. 1 inches. A group of fishermen hoping to snag salmon hooked the turtle. They were able to remove the hook and release the turtle back into the ocean. Experts say its extremely rare to find a green turtle this far north. The water here is chilly. Young man, go south. Most green turtles live off the mexico coast. This bear went south. Its so warm there he took a dip in somebodys pool in the community of sierra madre. This is the persons backyard. He swam in the pool about 15 minutes. Temperatures in the triple digits there. The homeowner says this is the first time hes actually seen a bear swimming around in his pool but bears often appear in the San Gabriel Valley community on trash days because they are looking for a snack.
