Yeah, you can see currently here, again, two storm systems backtoback on the satellite loop. Very impressive. Iselle is beginning to weaken a little bit. But you can see how strong julio is at this point. Well do it storm by storm. Well get you the first one right now, that is iselle. A category 1 storm, winds at 90 miles per hour. Right now 770 miles eastsoutheast of honolulu, hawaii. There has been a very important forecast change for this storm system, prior forecast model runs had this going over all of the island chain of hawaii. But with the latest update, what youre going to see as it approaches the big island here by thursday 8 00 p. M. For landfall, winds at 75 miles per hour, instead of pushing over all the islands, it takes it just a little bit to the south. Thats a better scenario if you still have to head that way, because you have vacation there. It looks like its going to be south of honolulu by friday morning, with winds of 65. And then the storm will push out by saturday. But the next storm system, well, its also going to be a course on the way. Winds at 75 miles per hour. This is also going to be a quick clip towards hawaii. Also better news if youre going there on vacation, the track is shifting more to the north. Were not looking at a direct hit from julio at this point. Saturday winds of 70 miles per hour, thats when the rain bands will be impacting hawaii. It takes a quick curve off to the north of honolulu as we head throughout sunday. So its looking a little bit better if you are headed there. But i will say with any kind of tropical system, you want to keep attention to this very, very closely. Because if we get a slight track variation in another 24 hours, it could mean worse consequences for hawaii. But right now, its the best out of all of the scenarios weve seen over the past couple of days. Lets get you back here to the bay area and a look outside. It is muggy, overcast. But at least the rainfall has moved on out. You can see right now, its hazy in the north bay, averaging 73. Foggy in San Francisco and 68. Were looking at a little bit of the low cloud cover for the north bay, the peninsula and also the immediate coastline and back for the trivalley. As we extend this out throughout tomorrow, it does look like its going to be a sunnier day in the forecast, and thats going to help to propel temperatures to even hotter levels. Lets take a look at how your thursday microclimate forecast is going to shape up. You can see in san jose, theres that little bit more heat for you. 87 expected for that daytime high. Down towards morgan hill, 89 degrees. And for the peninsula, weve got the fog in pacifica 66. The only exception is right near downtown San Francisco, and the embarcadero, likely getting up to 70 for tomorrow. North bay, east bay, trivalley. Hotter and sunnier in napa, with 90 degrees. And for the trivalley, were also going to go with 90 there in livermore, pleasanton and 92 in danville. The photograph looks great saturday and sunday. Well stay with the warm and sunny trend. No unusual august rain coming our way. South bay looking at 86 on saturday. San francisco 66 on saturday. 69 by sunday. The north bay Holding Steady with mid to upper 80s. Bulletproof vests are the subject of a new bill proposed by a south bay congressman. Several local sheriffs and prosecutors represent the bill to ban the sale of military grade body armor to anyone outside Law Enforcement or the armed services. The legislation was inspired by shootings like the 2012 aurora, colorado, massacre in which the gunman was protected by a ballistic helmet, vest, leggings, protection around his throat, groin and tactical gloves. This bill will keep military body armor out of the wrong hands. It would ensure that only Law Enforcement, firefighters and other First Responders would be able to access enhanced body armor. Local Police Chiefs and sheriffs say that type of highgrade protection endangers their officers by prolonging gun battles and emboldening criminals. Wear stripes and mosquitoes will stay away.
