And within a few years, it is projected to pull in over half a billion dollars annually. It has one of the worst on time records in the country. Were talking about San Francisco international airport. The reason for that, foggy delays. Reporter they have a new set of procedures in place that they hope will allow more flights to arrive here on time. Ask any traveler who has been impacted by weather delays, the chanes are welcome. I spend many hours waiting at this airport. Reporter she flies in and out of sfo every month. She knows all too well when foggy weather rolls in her flight will most likely to be delayed. I dont expect my flight to be on time ever. Reporter that could change. Traditionally, when we get into low clouds, fog, rainy conditions, those two parallel runways that we use for landing get cut down to one. We go to a single file line of aircraft. Thats a big cause of the delays. Reporter they are using both parallel runways in foggy weather as long as planes are staggered a mile and a half. It went into effect on september 30th. It allows for both runways to stay in use during bad weather condition. It will start making some improvements to delays. Reporter thats great news, especially as she makes travel plans for the holidays. I hope it is successful. Sometimes it is better to fly out of oakland because you dont have the fog problems. They believe changing the current policy would create a twotier justice system. You already have the criminal justice system. Theres no reason to turn to a tool that treats immigrants and citizens differently. Reporter others argue the current no hold policy has helped improve relations between police and the immigrant community and believe it is actually improving safety because more immigrants are reporting crimes and helping with investigations. Santa clara county is one of the only communities that has a socalled no holds policy. It was an emotional day and emotional moment at the Sonoma County board of supervisors meeting. Dozens of people spoke saying the death is a direct result of skin color and where andy lopez lived. Protesters gathered in front of the das office calling for a grand jury hearing on the shooting. There were about a hundred needles on the road. They either fell or were thrown off an unknown vehicle. The death of a runner in the new York City Marathon is touching bay area people today. She was the oldest participant in last sundays race. A race shes run every year since 1988. This time she was wearing bandages after falling near mile 20. She insisted on finishing the marathon and would not go to the hospital. This is how she wanted to go. She wanted to go running with her track shoes on. She did literally. 86 years old and running that marathon. She would have turned 87 on christmas day. Take a good look at this live picture of the eastern span of the bay bridge.
