Happening now, the San Jose City council is considering adding hundreds of Police Officers to the force. The recommendation has just now passed late this afternoon, this recommendation has passed 101. The proposal introduced last week by mayor chuck reed and counsel might bes will add 200 officers to the force in the next four years. It will also restore the 10 pay cut the officers took during the recession. The san jose Police OfficersAssociation Says the fouryear time frame is too long and full of empty promises. This new plan has an estimated price tag of about 50 million per year. And unprecedented Police Policy regarding possible racial profiling in the San Jose Police department. As of september 1st, a new limited detention policy requires officers to collect information on any stop in which they detain someone and use one of the three cs squl the person to sit on the curb in a patrol car or putting them in handcuffs for questioning.
