Pete, people here really struggled to get out of the fire. Tragic to hear not everyone survived. Reporter a lot of residents on this block are shocked. They tell me that a mother lived in that home with her son. Behind me you see investigators still on the scene. We did get a chance to talk with a neighbor who called 911 and also jumped into action. Neighbors heard screams. I heard like a lady screaming for help, call 911. Reporter while others stumbled upon the bad news. I just was hoping that it really wasnt my little friend. Reporter firefighters arrived around 10 00 a. M. Seen here extingishing flames in one wed room. Heres one of the residents being taken away on a stretcher for second and third degree burns. A teenage victim was taken to a nearby hospital for minor burns. The fire did take the life of one child. I hear the mother. Reporter jeff heard those screams and called 911. Even attempted to put the fire out himself. Took the hose and went in the building. I got as far as maybe halfway through the living room. Reporter he tells me he hosed down the female burn victim. But he wishes he could have done more. I feel a certain grief. I dont feel any responsibility for the child doing. I did what i could. But i kind of wish i had another chance to do it at the same time. Reporter this is still an ongoing investigation. Live tracking breaking news in Southern California tonight. More than two dozen people hurt after a crash that flipped a shuttle bus on its side. This is chopper video of the aftermath. The bus hit another vehicle on state route 330 in the San Bernardino mountains. Two people are in Critical Condition and had to be air lifted to the hospital. Four more went by ambulance and the rest treated at the scene. The highway is shut down in both directions as the investigation continues. A man is in jail tonight after the truck he was driving crashed, killing a woman passenger. This happened in santa rosa about 2 30 this morning. You can see the damage to the week. California Highway Patrol says the man in his 30s was driving drunk. The truck flipped, smashed into a concrete barrier and flipped again. The vehicle was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed based on damage to the vehicle. The woman passenger killed at the scene. The driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital where he was arrested. Names have not been released. Arson or accident . Investigators are trying to determine what started a fire at a popular san jose bakery. The flames broke out around 3 00 this morning at dicks bakery. Heavy smoke was coming from the back of that building. They found flames in the storage area. Firefighters doused the flames. No one was injured. There was significant smoke damage to the main part of the bakery. Focusing on diversity. Today new acting police chief tony chaplain pledged to listen to all voices in the community. We go from may into june right now, many of those areas in the Southern Plains all the way up into the Northern Plains right now seeing severe thunderstorm watches and tornado warnings. That Severe Weather outbreak happening right now from north texas all the way up to south dakota. Right now active severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings out across North Central texas and extending to a pretty large area all the way to south dakota, nebraska, kansas and west of Oklahoma City tonight. Low 60s closer to San Francisco. North bay temperatures again mid to upper 60s. Santa rosa and napa, probably the two locations that have the best chance for showers tomorrow. Tuesday into wednesday, another low drops down the Central California coast. That could toss a few more showers across the high country. Its going to keep our temperatures down. Low 60s. Slight rebound approaching thursdays and friday. Low 70s toward the end of the week. The tri valley looks similar in those numbers. Low 70s approaching memorial day weekend. Right now that too, starting to see some changes there. Now the models trying to bring it in other northern california. What it means, well be keeping those temperatures fairly cool. As we move into next weekend, highs in the same range, upper 60s into low 70s. Could still see those afternoon showers here in the sierras. That air is still cold enough, we could still be talking about snow showers above 6,000 feet in the sierra from the 30th, maybe even to the start of june.
