Lets show new video from a couple of hours ago before the lanes reopened. You see the victims black car being put on a flatbed moments before being towed away. Which said they were responding to a roadrage incident on the free near the exit roughly freeway near the exit roughly around 2 30 a. M. Shortly after, there were reports of shots fired near the exit. The driver of the black car was shot and sent to a hospital in Critical Condition with injuries to his head. Well show you video from this morning courtesy of our nbc bay area sky ranger. You see that traffic backed up for several hours as folks try to take alternate routes around the incident. Now which tells me they had to take these measures of shutting down the lanes for several hours so they could do a thorough investigation, especially in light of freeway shootings that have been an issue in the past, specifically in the east bay. Because of those, were taking it extremely seriously and with extra precaution which is why weve had media so far back and the road closure so long. We want to collect all the pieces and information to get all the data we can to help the investigation. Reporter at this time theres no description of the suspects from chp. Livermore at 64 degrees. And fairfield at 69. Oakland and San Francisco still hovering right there at 60 degrees. Were feeling some cooler temperatures compared to yesterday at this time. Especially for the trivalley where were nine degrees cooler now than it was yesterday right before noon. Looking at all of those high temperatures today, were going to be much cooler than where we should be for this time of year, reaching 74 degrees in livermore. Concord up to 78 degrees. Napa, 77 degrees. And Half Moon Bay, i know, youve been really missing the sunshine. Do not look for it today. Its still going to be cloudy. As we get a look outside in San Francisco, its 60 degrees now. 63 degrees will be the high. Well see a slow rise in temperatures over the next couple of hours. Notice that we only get some peeks of sunshine for the middle of the afternoon. And it will be windy, too. Feeling much cooler. If youre in the trivalley, going golfing throughout the afternoon and into the evening, it is going to be sunny throughout much of the evening. Then right around 7 00 or 8 00, well see more clouds moving in as the sun is setting. Over the next few days in napa valley, with the high temperatures in the upper 70s, going to be a great place to go enjoy the last few days before School Starts again. And on wednesday, it will be at 82 degrees now. That does start a warming trend that will be underway. Maybe youre planninging to to yosemite. Weve been keeping an eye on the wildfire there. It looks hazy as we look at the live camera here. Over the next couple of days, it will be slightly cooler on wednesday. And thats when well also have a chance of thunderstorms firing up. Other than that, looks like a nice few days over the middle of the week. We are looking at in San Francisco some low 60s. Then look toward the end of the week. Well number the low 70s this weekend. Well have some upper 60s while the inland areas will be breezy, partly cloudy today, and a high of 75 degrees. It will be a touch warmer tomorrow, and by the end of the week, if youre hoping for some summerlike temperatures, youve got it. Well be up to 90 degrees on friday. A new warning about next weeks Solar Eclipse. Some of the glasses for sale will not protect your eyes. So obviously they can be dangerous. Really dangerous. How can you tell if the glasses that you got are safe to use . Nbcs jeff rossen is showing exactly what we should be looking for. Reporter all eyes on the sky. Next monday a rare total Solar Eclipse visible from oregon to south carolina. Dont look up just yet. Without approved eclipse sunglasses like these, you can actually go blind. Thats why officials are sounding the alarm that counterfeiters are now selling eclipse glasses that look real and claim to be safe but wont protect when you staring at the sun. The sunlight has harmful ultraviolet radiation. The problem with that is if you stare directly at the sun or at an eclipse, it can cause permanent damage to the eye. Reporter the problem is so widespread, amazon is now cracking down on counterfeit sellers, refunding customers who bought fake glasses that dont meet safety standards, sending out emails saying, we recommend that you do not use this product to view the sun or the eclipse. So how can you tell a safe pair from a potentially dangerous fake . To show you weve come here to ics laboratories in ohio. This is one of the only labs in america accredited to test eclipse glasses for safety. To see if too much sunlight will get in and actually burn your eyes. Ill tell you, when put these on, its pitch black, i cannot even see there it is. I cant see the camera in front of me. Heres another pair from a different company. It looks yeah. Doesnt look great, does it . It does look the same. Pitch black. I cant tell the difference. We bought a bunch, and were going to test them. The lab gets to work testing these filters through a special machine to see how much light passes through. Remember, to the naked eye, you cant tell the difference. We have some popup vendors who are willing to play fast and loose with certification and testing claims. The general public doesnt understand what that means. More often than not, those claims arent accurate. Reporter you tested these two. What did you find . We found the samples in your left hand met the transmission requirements of the standard. Reporter safe to use these . Yes. Reporter what about this one . Those failed. Reporter this failed . Those exceeded the maximum transmission requirements, light getting in by 36 . Most of us are not going to have you or a lab like this to help us. What can we do at home by the way, these are safe glasses on the table now. What can we do to make sure theyre safe . There are going to be filters so light that you can see Something Like your hand clearly defined reporter i shouldnt be able to see my hand in front of my own face. Absolutely not.
