To a novato woman who says her new floor didnt look so new, just six months after it this morning nbc bay area responds to a nevada woman who says her new floors didnt look so new six months after they were installed. She just wasnt happy and turned to us for help. Heres her story. Reporter three years ago simonettea paid lumber lick dadors for new kitchen, dining room and living room floors with installation and six months later she noticed discolor. She reached out to Lumber Liquidators to honor the warranty or to fix or replace the floor, but she said the company said no. In a denial let ter played the staining on other site and environmental conditions like extreme heat or proper maintenance which arent covered under the warranty. She disagreed and Lumber Liquidators suggest she use a mr. Clean magic eraser on the stain. She said she tried that but it didnt work. She then noticed another problem, there was bubbling between the planks. Its right there in that picture on the righthand side, just a little bit right there. If you look closely youll see it. She asked Lumber Liquidators to fix that problem, too, and the company said no again, insisting nothing was wrong with the product they had installed so she shared her story with us. We contacted Lumber Liquidators and repeated its stance. Nothing is wrong with the product and the staining and bubbling were caused by surface moist, like using water to clean the floors. Now, thats not covered under the warranty and she did share with Lumber Liquidators she used water to clean the floors, but ultimately the back and forth did stop. The company agreed to refund her the cost of the floors, 2,700. In a statement Lumber Liquidators told us its decision is based on the fact that its communication could have been better and wanted to make the situation right. After all of this, by the way, she succeeded on her own in getting Lumber Liquidators to refund the cost of her labor, too. If you have a consumer complaint, let us know. The number is 888996tips. The temperature trend for the rest of the afternoon shows that we will be in the lower 60s today, and this is cooler than where we should be for the middle of april, but as we go into the next several days well get a rebound in those temperatures. Looking now at some rain, mostly over the east bay. We see a pretty good coverage here, and as we get a closer look seeing some of the heavier downpours right there along 680 just east of lafayette and over towards concord as well. For the rest of the day, cloudy skies, some peaks of sunshine and some areas will see that sun breaking out for a little while, and then hear we are at 3 00. We start to see that rain moving into the north bay and for point reyes well start to see the showers continuing. I know this is right when the giants came will be under way, and that continues into the east bay as well as the south bay shortly before midnight with some breezy winds, a little bit of some clearing, but we wont be completely done there. Will still be pockets of rain moving through at least for the Morning Hours tomorrow and then a little bit more sunshine for the afternoon.
