It was about 5 30 this morning in milpitas. They attempted cpr, by the motorcyclist died at the scene. Nobody else was involved in the crash. And a new details on the soberanes fire. It is now at 35 contained. 54 acres have been burns. Investigators say the massive fire was likely caused by an unattended campfire. To the fire in napa, evacuation orders were lifted as we first reported at this time yesterday. The fire is 16 contained. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. If you look at the creek to the right here, anyone that has lived here, from 2012 or 1998 know how quickly it can crest. If you just take a look over here, you can see how much below sea level they are. This is local water and flood districts. It is supposed to be what is the most cricketed part of the creek. Were talking about a 7,000 foot long section that extends from the friendship bridge here along the way all of the way to highway 101. It will remove sediment built up over 60 years, and build flood walls along the property, some of which flooded in 2012 because of levies many must needed repair. We know these are in very bad condition, and the homes that you can see behind me are below sea level, and the roof lines are below the levee. There is nowhere for the water to drain. I dont have to worry about the flooding, and it will mean safety for me because i cant swim. It will take away the worry. Right now the creek is only withstand a 40 year flood, and when it does, workers place sandbags along the bank. It will protect them from a sea level rise. Just over 41 million, this section is supposed today be complete by the end of 2018. They are planning another prompt to protect the 4500 properties. Theyre located on the east side of the 101.
