She acknowledged she stopped paying some of the rent because the landlord was not doing what was needed to get rid of the rats or make repairs. The landlord would not talk on camera but said the eviction process was in the works because she was behind on her rent. It is the landlords burden, not the tenants burden. Landlords must maintain livable conditions. They have to remove pests. Whoever owns the property owns the problem. Inspectors came out to observe the property immediately following the report. They said there is a definite problem that the landlord is responsible for. Pearson doesnt want to move, she just wants to get rid of the rats.
