Were told the driver of the car did stay on scene and is cooperating. Meanwhile, an overnight car chase in search for two armed car jacking suspects finally comes to an end with their arrest. A Police Sergeant with san jose involved in the arrests boasted they, quote, got two bad guys off the street after searching for several hours last night. Police finally cornered these two suspects just after sun rise in one of the garages behind me in this small cluster of homes off bernardo and blackberry terrace in sunnyvale. They ordered the suspected carjackers to surrender, but they refused. As a result suffered the consequences. They show the young men both in their early to mid 20s being treated for what looks like fairly painful bite wounds after a Police Canine subdued them. Both men have been taken to the hospital will virtually be placed in jail. The men used a gun to car jack a drive at tully and lukriesha. The driver is okay. He called police. Police were able to track and find the carjackers in the suv. There was a 100mileperhour chase up 280. It ended here in sunnyvale where the men ditched the suv and a small handgun. All this in a residential narnd. They made their way to Stevens Creek and eventually into the garage i mentioned where they were taken into custody around 6 50 this morning. They were not saying anything. Were not very cooperative with the police. Im not even sure they provided their name at this point. I just heard a loud noise in the middle of the thoith and the dog started barking and i saw a flash of light come into the room a little later. Very creepy and scary. Im glad they found them. Police from several agencies had several blocks in the sun a veil neighborhood surrounded overnight. It was a resident who alerted 911 she saw a man hopping a fence. That led Law Enforcement to narrow the search and find the guys who were unarmed at the time of the arrest. Inside the recovered suv police found a pellet gun in addition to the handgun they ditched at the scene. One neighbor saying she heard a gunshot, a pause, and then a gunshot. Thought nothing of it thought it was fire crackers. The next day, a Family Member found her dead inside. The door to her albany apartment is boarded up sealed by police. This is where the 37yearold from india lived on her own as she studied at ucsf. Monday afternoon, her cousin found her, killed by a single gunshot in her home. They were so devastated. I heard also the brother was going to fly in from india as well. It was devastating, and our condolences as a neighbor as a community. Carr was eight months into a twoyear internalths dentist program. The program admits 24 foreign trained dentists a year who study to become doctors of dental surgery. Happened to an indian girl. Already facing so many problems in india. We come here because its a safe place. Neighbors said they rarely saw carr but whenever they did, she seemed plez nltd. This described this as a quiet and pleasant neighborhood. I think its hard for us to process all of this right now. I think its just still shocking. Neighborhood is very good. Its come as a shock because my parents live here, i live here and theyre into their 70s. I dont want this to ever happen here. In a statement, ucsf called her a treasured member of the school community. Our hearts go out to her family and friends at this very difficult time. Grief counseling has gone out to all students faculty, and staff. We will miss her deeply. No date set for that memorial. Very sad. Students at cal state San Bernardino are on edge after two women were attacked and a third one vanished within the past two weeks. Campus Police Say Two women were attacked on separate day said outside the Schools Library last week. Police believe it was the same suspect in both of those attacks. Then on monday a 22yearold student disappeared after leaving her apartment to go to her Early Morning job. Police have not said whether they believe her disappearance is linked to the other attacks. A violent end to a police chase in Southern California started with a shooting in los angeles late last night. Officers spotted and chased a van about two minutes into the chase, the van slammed into a Fire Department truck. One suspect is dead, the other in the hospital in Critical Condition. Two firefighters have minor injuries. Two Police Officers in ferguson missouri, were shot last night during a demonstration and protest. That is something that is very difficult to guard against when you have a group of officers standing in a large group, and then you have gunfire, certainly gunfire directed at them. Protests were winding down. Happened after midnight. There was a group out here after the representation of the chief of police, tom jackson. It came at a very unusual time and it could be a game changer because of the severity of what happened. The two officers are both in the hospital, the wounds are severe. One case the bullet went through the shoulder and exited his back. The other has a bullet lodged in the cheek. Very serious wounds but both are expected to survive. Teams are searching for a military helicopter that crashed off the florida coast yesterday. Bad weather is hampering search efforts in the waters near eggland air force base. Mourners held a vegal for the seven marines and four soldiers onboard the black hawk helicopter that crashes in a training exercise. All are presumed dead. Late yesterday, before the search was suspended for weather, crews say they did recover a number of bodies. The crash is still under investigation. Indiana state police are looking into the cause of an Early Morning crash that sent a tour bus off the road into nearby trees. Right now, at least 20 passengers are hurt. Two very high level secret Service Agents have been reassigned after allegations they might have been drunk when they crashed through a security barricade at the white house. Chris jansen has more on this investigation. This morning, the white house is confirming the investigation into two high level secret Service Agents. One, an elite member on the president s close detail. According to the washington post, the men drove a government car into White House Security barricades after drinking at a Late Night Party last week. Were talking about a very very senior person who is regularly within arms length of the president. And if this person if its true doesnt get any worse than that. Two sources familiar with the investigation confirmed to nbc the men are senior supervisor George Ogilvie and the second in command on the president s detail Mark Connelly who had been by the president s side from ireland to tosawn to coney island. According to the post officers on duty wanted to arrest the agents and conduct sobriety tests but the officers were ordered by a supervisor to let the agents go home. Even though witnesses say, the car was being driven erratically, lights flashing tearing through security tape before hitting the barricade and disrupting the Ongoing Investigation of a suspicious package. The investigation will be a significant test for the agencys new director, joseph clancy. Who came out of retirement to clean up the service after a series of highprofile missteps rocked the agency. 2012 in cartagena, colombia a prostitution scandal led to some agents fired. March 2014 two agents were booted after one was found passed out in a Hotel Hallway after drinking. Last month, kensington Board Members voted to end contract negotiations with chief greg harmon. He will leave at the end of may. Harmon came under fire after a sergeants gun and badge were stolen by a prostitute in reno.
