Turn thing over to rob now as we look towards friday and this rainy few days ahead of us. Tomorrow mornings commute will have wet roadways, but not like the heavy rain we saw earlier this morning. In fact, one of the reasons the peninsula did see one to 2 inches of rain, we had a system come through in the morning commute and that is where we sent our storm ranger mobile radar atop San Bruno Mountain for you tonight. There is a little bit of a drizzle storm. Weve been seeing light rain, cloudy skies, a little fog. We switch from this view to our radar. You can see there is really not much hang around San Francisco. We are tracking some light rain there off the shore. When it hits Santa Cruz Mountains it will bring soggy conditions across highway 17. Toward east bay, liver more, napa, pockets of light rain and here in Santa Cruz Mountains, areas around san jose cloudy skies, occasional mist. That is kind of a snapshot of the way things will go through about noon tomorrow. Rain totals generally less than a tenth of an inch of rain. Contrast that to one to 2 inches of rain like we had earlier this morning. Even that is enough to wet the roadways. You couple that with clearing skies and a few spots to have some patchy fog. There is a pretty picture there. A beacon lit atop the transamerica pyramid. We look at the visibility, mild patchy fog already setting up. A couple things to contend with for your morning commute. Some areas of light rain and also patchy fog. Napa, concord, and now down into san martin highway 101 visibility down to a quarter mile. So, patchy fog and wet roads to contend with early in the day. For the afternoon south bay temperatures climbing into the low 60s, some light rain possible, mainly around the hill tops during the day. Still technically most of friday in between storm systems, changes coming up towards friday night. Trivalley and east bay temperatures in the mid 60s after the patchy fog begins to break up. Some light rain and misty skies, mostly cloudy we think around the peninsula tomorrow. Near 60, upper 50s around San Francisco and into the north bay youll see highs in the upper 50s. So, the time line of the next round of heavy rain not happening during the daytime hours tomorrow. You can see some light rain off and 0 not through the day on friday. Its after 11 00 friday. Look at that. Saturday morning predawn, 3 00 a. M. Through 7 00 a. M. , thats when that second storm arrives. Well still see the rain hanging up here in the south bay through midday saturday then skies clear as we get into saturday evening. So, the weekend time line as things stand right now, rainy start to the weekend, improving conditions by 7 00. That should hold up probably for the first half of sunday. Then increasing clouds as we head into saturday and sunday afternoon, i should say into sunday evening. Another round of rain coming in sunday night on into monday. If youre heading to the sierra, starting tomorrow windy conditions around the summit will have gusts of 80 miles per hour. Thats friday night and saturday. Snow close to 8,000 feet where they could get 2 feet of snow by early next week. So, the time line there you see its the second half of the weekend where things will temporarily dry out, but theres plenty of rain across the sevenday forecast. Notice the second half of the week sunday looks dryer then more rain come on in, and notice the temperatures, too, cooling off staying in the upper 50s across the inland areas into early next week.
