Its 10 contained. And 600 firefighters are fighting this fire. Tomorrow, crews are hoping that the weather will give them some relief. As the sun set, helicopters using water from Lake Berryessa to try and stop the fire raging in the steep rugged hills that cover three counties. You can probably feel theres a pretty good breeze coming through here. Thi this was anticipated. Its the third element between dry fuels, hot weather and a little bit of wind. Thats definitely affected the fire. Reporter since late tuesday afternoon whats being called the cold fire has burned 4,600 acres. Dozens of crews facing a wall of flames are concentrating on the north end of the fire while working to hold fire lines along highway 128. And tonight, that road remains closed. Four years of drought stressed fuels and trees with annual crops underneath and heat and wind is creating that combination that firefighters fear because its burning extremely rapidly. Reporter its burning so fast that some campers are being told to evacuate. Others are being allowed to stay put until further notice. They just told us probably about 15 minutes ago just to be prepared to evacuate. And its not because of the fire, but because of the smoke and the health issues. To the south of us, the soberanes fire continues to burn near big sur. Almost 47,000 acres have been scorched. Its 25 contained. Now, authorities continue to look for the people responsible for starting an illegal campfire which sparked this fire on july 22nd. They could ultimately be charged with the death of a bulldozer operator killed while battling the blaze. New at 11 00, stabbed while playing pokemon go in san jose. A San Francisco sheriffs deputy in trouble accused of trying to smuggle contraband to a prisoner by hiding it inside a burrito. We retulearned the deputy in question attempted to deliver a bag to murder suspect Michael Green inside the hall of justice of San Francisco last friday. Tucked in that bag was a cell phone stuffed inside a burrito. Were told the deputy managed to bypass metal detecters but Law Enforcement was able to intercept the cell phone before it got to green. Deputy is now under investigation and is being barred from going into any jail. The San Francisco sheriff released a statement today.
