They say what they are calling for remains the same. They believe their movement started and is growing. After 1xvii days, supporters of the frisco five released a statement saying its not a concession, its a victory. They have been asked to help build opportunity for the community they were willing to lay down their lives for. They will hold true to their demands. The five activists began their Hunger Strike on april 21st, calling on police chief to resign or be fired in the wake of several police shootings. The mayor, ed lee, stands behind the chief. There was a march tuesday. We are going to win the city back for the people. Reporter by friday, they were hospitalized, citing health. Pressure and concern from the community about their hoelt. Protesters came to city hall, met by deputies. There were clashes, a door broken, dozens arrested. Supporters say they hold true to their demand. The supporter says they will remain in the hospital for a few days. Supporters are calling for a general strike on monday morning with folks gathering here, again, at city hall. An arrest has been made in the case. 19yearold angela is in custody at San Francisco general hospital. Shes considered to be the only suspect in yesterdays deadly stabbing of marla, who was found dead in her home. This is marlas nephew, a longtime public attorney. A man crashed into a chp officer in sacramento. Nbc bay areas Marianne Favro has more. Reporter he is accused of hitting the chp officer. That officer is now hospitalized with major injuries. This is what remains of the chp officers patrol vehicle after it was struck in South Sacramento by this fedex truck. The fedex driver, a 41yearold is now behind bars, charged with driving under the influence, causing injury and possession of a controlled substance. Chp officers say he hit an officer on foot trying to clear the scene of a hit and run accident that happened earlier on highway 50 near 15th street in sacramento. A fedex truck in the slower lane struck one of our officers. Officer was transported to the hospital where hes suffering major injuries. Reporter he says it officer is a veteran who did everything right at the scene. These crashes are so preventable. Had his lights on. What we want to see is that when you see a patrol vehicle light you need to slow down and move over a lane. Reporter the officer is at least the third chp patrolman in two months to be hit by a vehicle responding to a crash. One is officer nathan taylor, hit on i80 and later died from his injury. A person is in the hospital after a fire in an assisted living fa till live living facility where they lived. At least ten other units were damaged when the water from the sprinklers went off.
