Oakland police said it happened after a short pursuit by officers and the driver of the car that was hit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and not yet clear what led up to the chase. Training turned into a life or death situation for firefighters off ocean beach today. Their fire boat capsized and happened just below the cliff house in San Francisco. Christysie smith is live. All seven firefighters are safe. Four were taken to the hospital as a precaution and we are told one will stay overnight. Possible hypothermia after firefighters found themselves needing help. San francisco firefighters moved quickly to help their own. Seven members were on a rescue boat working on a Training Exercise near ocean beach when things took a dangerous turn. Things were pretty calm and there was a big wave that came up and some might call it a rogue wave and flipped the boat. Fortunately, two water rescue crafts were behind and able to help pull some from the ocean. A private boat was out there, and they also helped with the rescue. So all our members are, i would say, okay. Four taken to the hospital as a precaution, and one is staying overnight. We are fortunate all of our members were dressed appropriately in the safety gear they would wear to affect a rescue they would be responding to. There was a picture of this rescue boat one taken last week and this is believed to be the overturned boat today. We are working with the company to extract the boat from the water. Its in a position that would not be easy to pull it out. The San FranciscoFire Department is thankful all of our members are out of harms way. I dont think there are correction officers that start off being bad people and failed leadership gives an opportunity for a toxic environment. Recommendations will go before the Santa Clara County supervisors, and they clue increasing inmate visitation and medical services especially for mentally ill inmates. Another issue addressed by the commission, the riot captured on videos this month, and six days before the fight there was an internal email ordering Sheriff Department staff limiting the amount of time mixed race inmates speak together. The commission is recommending an investigation in the policies and procedures that could have played a role in the violence. Tense moments in the middle of what should have been a peaceful hike. Investigators looking for a man that robbed two women at gunpoint. The attack happened yesterday afternoon in the Wildlife Reserve east of the lake. A man approached the women on a trail, brandished a gun and forced the women to a secluded area, and robbed both of them and assaulted one of them. The suspect described as a hispanic with a thick accent and about 25 years of age and short black hair and light mustache. Wearing a burgundy shirt and gray shirt and tennis shoes. And then James Jarrard wanting for shooting a boy in the neck, and he survived. He is on patrol for burglary and considered armed and dangerous. Records show he was arrested in 2015 following a short case by Concord Police and at the time he was wanted for stealing a car and burglarizing several homes in lafayette. After two men tried to lure a boy in a car, it happened yesterday afternoon about 3 30 near sharon road. The men pulled alongside the 12yearold boy in a silver fourdoor sedan and asked him if he was running late and told him to get in the car, and the boy said no and walked away and he is unhurt. Police are trying to determine if the men were trying to lure the boy or scare him. And then the water deemed safe to drink again.
