Dozens of motorcycles destroyed when a fire ripped through a san jose shock. Firefighters had a difficult time putting the flames out. Thats at the intersection of camden and union, and it forced a section of Camden Avenue to be down for a few hours. Reporter you can see that crews have just finished putting up opening up all the windows. The closest fire hydrant was 1,000 feet. This after the fear broke out after this yamaha truck. Thick, black smoke came sxut and flames shot into the air. Can you see the flames inside the building. Right down here and i saw the fire inside. The man who shot this video said he was the first to call 911. It went from that little bit of smoke, you know, from in the morning to just the whole thing just the 50 firefighters who responded faced challenges beyond the flames. Some of the challenges we faced were, one, the building was well secured. It had bars on the windows. The other was that the fire hued rant was so far away on this bezy street of Camden Avenue that it took a long time for us to lay line in order to get the water supply to the engine. You can see here the fire hued rant was about 1,000 feet away from the burning building. Another problem . More than 50 motorcycles and atvs inside the burning repair shop. We never made the entrance of the building because of the amount of Fire Associated with the particularly 75 bikes that are inside. Those all have rubber tires, gasoline, oil, things that are very flammable, so the fire had a very good start before we got here. Reporter firefighters knocked down the fire in an hour. Tonight crews are boarding up the windows, as investigators try to determine how the fire started. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Camden avenue was closed down for a couple of hours while firefighters fought this fire and then mopped up afterward, but it is now reopened tonight. You can see flames jumping out of that storage unit. This was the third fire firefighters responded to just this afternoon and into the evening. Another fire was sparked by a candle out on the porch. A new warning out on the u. C. Berkeley camp where yous. The victim said she was outside the three speech cafe when the suspect came up to her asking for food or money. She gave her some food, and he asked if he could give her a hug in thanks. During that hug, the man groped her. The suspect is described as a black man about 30 years old with a goatee beard and an id badge around his neck. Now to an nbc bay area followup. People in one san jose neighborhood find out if their local bar that they say brings in criminals will be forced to close. Were talking about the el tarasco bar that has a rep taegs for violence, prostitution, and vandalism. The latest incident that days ago. A Security Guard was shot four times. The Security Guard is expected to survive. Neighbors and the city want the place closed down. This bar has been a problem for a long time, and what weve seen in recent months is just an escalation of the fights, the drug dealing, and other issues. So i push Code Enforcement in the City Attorney to do whatever we could to shut the bar down. The group has a Court Hearing scheduled tomorrow to seek an injunction to close the bar as soon as possible. The city is set to pull the bars Liquor License in december. No one from the bar has a comment so far. Two deputies in northern california, and well hear from the woman who still cant go home because of what he did. Officials believe that a dead animal may have gotten into a water fight and caused the original problem. Part of downtown san rafael was closed off for much of the day after a water main break there created this mess. This happened on mission avenue between heatherton street and right off highway 101. The road actually buckled and had tracks in it as well. As of now it has been reopened. The south bay gas station is popping with gas prices that really have not been seen in years. For tomorrow we have this dry start to the week. Temperatures around places like san jose will be climbing into the low 70s, mid 70s south of downtown. Another 14yearold girl remains in critical condition. Earlier today the community gathered to pray for the victim of the shooting in marysville pilchuk high school. No. The students we spoke with who dont use marijuana said its easier now to get marijuana from older siblings, and any 18yearold with a medical marijuana card can fwi their own. Its easier to be at a Football Game with friends and be high and not get caught than getting drunk because cops have gotten good at knowing when teenagers are drunk. Marijuana has a serious affect on the developing brain, but some kids think if its legal, how harmful can it be . Theyre teaching how bad it was for you, and right when they legalized it, the kids are, like, okay, its legal. That means its good for you now. Good for you . For now these kids are saying no to pot, and no thank you to the stigma thats accompanied legalization. It used to be when you said youre from colorado, the first thing you got is do you ski to school or ride your horse to school, and now without fault every time its do you smoke marijuana . Reporter tonights red river, the boiling molten lauf wra flow, is getting dangerously close after the volcano erupted this summer on hawaiis big island. Lava has been oozing down hill for months. Now its creeping towards the town. We are all on needles and pins, waiting and waiting. A small town on a collision course with this 2,000 degree river. The lava less than a mile away. Well be going door to door in certain areas based on the likely path of the flow. After traveling 11 miles now picking up speed, the lauf wra is moving at roughly 15 with regards an hour. The fiery flow, 150 yards wide. An unstoppable force. Disaster has struck here before. In 1990 lava from the voluntarily contain wroe swallowed 200 homes.
