The rest of the passengers were eventually flown onto sacramento. In berkley, fire fighter investigators are back on the scene. It started around 8 00 last night and wasnt under control until 1 00 this morning. At first, it was about 4 feet of fire out of the top of the building. And then by the time i left, it was 50 foot flames. I could feel the heat coming off the top of the building. It was a very intense fire. Four businesses were destroyed, including the wooden dutch shop selling handmade wooden furniture. Damages could be as high as 8 million. And everyone the north bay could see those temperatures climb close to 80 for the sea breeze tomorrow night. So right now, winds are on shore. Theres going to be a battle playing out for our weather overnight. Winds beginning to shift direction out of the northeast. Thats going to lead to warm temperatures for one more day. Today, a survivor spoke sout about what happened. The 18yearold man is still recovering from burns to his face and body. And he spoke to us from his hospital bed. Miles hill has awoken from the same dream. After closing my eyes rgs all i could see is fire. And i could hear the screams of people who were burning alive. And as a survivor, its hard not to go back in time and remember all of the ways that the accident skould have been prevented. Our bus was late. It was an hour late. We were supposed to leave at 6 30. All of the buss were supposed to leave at 6 30. Miles said earlier in the trip, the bus had been involved in another small accident that led them to be in the wrong place at the exact wrong time. If that really hadnt happened, then the really bad accident wouldnt have happened. And finally, when the moment did arrive, he watched from right behind the seat of the driver. He had time to move out of the way, but he was in shock and that prevented him from moving the wheel. Like other witnesses, miles disputes account tlas the fedex truck was on fire before the crash. If it does move in and try to retake some of these buildings, it runs the risk of provoking russia into a military intervention inside ukraine. If it stands by and does nothing, it can continue to see more separatist militias take control of government buildings. Tonight, there is bipartisan agreement that russian president putin is behind the escalating crisis in ukraine. In congress, some are calling for weapons shipments to ukraine.
