For anyone that loves college football in those who love the director stuff because as a cause football fan you love the young player you know you love the young man because you knew he was a Heisman Trophy candidate he's a guy was played at a high level for the majority of his. Career at Alabama he's someone that we have talked about being a special quarterback when we look forward to going through the process and eventually becoming a pro male you wonder will you have the same process Willis Outlook be as bright when it comes to his n.f.l. Prospects we don't know yet and so your heart goes out for him because you know this was a guy that everyone was really into supporting talking about and the conversation last week stemming off the game Ellis you Alabama with 2 and Joe burrow in which one was the number one quarterback mean in the debates that we're going to ensue So there were just plays out but as it is really potentially a big loss for the college football and a feel for football world and one of the things that we discussed last week you were doing a comp and your conference to it was Russell Wilson Yes and look Russell because he's got the arm strength throws a real nice deep ball and also you know the scrambling ability it's there if he needs it and it's such a spot on comparison because if you watched on Monday night football that was a perfect example Russell Wilson wants to work from the pocket but if he has to get she plays with his feet and he did not game on Monday night which was in large part why Seattle was able to beat San Fran on Monday night in their own building Well now all of that is compromised and it's not like he's a 6 foot 5 guy who can stand in the pocket and see over the line of scrimmage you kind of need that mobility unite you just wonder Ok what moving forward and how much does this end. Fact is draft stock significantly impacts his draft stock now we need to get the the doctor's. Prognosis going to get with the evaluation is but initially this could set him back significantly if we're talking about this being the Bo Jackson injury obviously teams are going to back away from that because when you invest in a quarterback position and you invest a topic in that you want to make sure that the guy that you're getting is going to be not only be available but be able to play the way to the play for the majority of the time that you saw him in college. Man it's difficult it's a challenge a lot of people that are scrambling because they don't want to get all the information to see if they can kind of. Pinpoint when he would be able to return to action and what will we see when he returns action so yeah tough day tough day for 2 and his family tough day for the football community because everyone wanted to see him kind of blossom and be the player that many of us thought he could be and a quick update on the to a situation this just came out according to Aaron Suttles who covers Alabama for the athletic he says that too has been ruled out for the season with a dislocated hip with a posteriori wall fracture a person with knowledge of the situation tells me that according to Aaron Suttles confirm 2 out for the year he covers Alabama for the athletics so if that's true that's gruesome and. It's why the Patrick my home situation is so odd because I heard talking to you about it where the norm is when you dislocate something you tear ligaments that's just the way that it goes like there's no other way around it but patrimony was so strange in that they said he was almost double jointed to where he didn't have any of that happen to him so he just built differently when I dislocated my kneecap I did my meniscus I had a bone bruise I tore all sorts of stuff there tendons you name it and patrimony didn't have any of this. When you dislocate a bone it's not just a all popped out popping back in a sort of Lego for God's sakes like you there says he's going to have damage around it and so as reported there from Aaron Suttles who covers Alabama for the athletic There's also a fracture in the hip as well too that he's got to deal with so this is just I mean it's going from bad to worse for it to a time of my life yeah I mean just tough I guess I mean that we talked about it feel bad for me you feel bad for him because he's he's close and you feel bad for. Every player and he situation is right so the majority of players for especially guys who are speculate to be top players they can to play the game in fear of these kind of moments right you're so close to the dream become a reality that you just trying to get to that in the book without getting her to sit for sometimes to set your family up for a better situation a better life or whatever and I'm not privy to like to a family dynamics but naturally you think about that and you think about the money that potentially was out there as a topic and a quarterback that. Look man and you talk about being able to change. In Atlanta coming up today calling capper Knicks team didn't want to sign the waiver that the n.f.l. Wanted them to sign they wanted a different waiver signed the n.f.l. Didn't want to sign that so team showed up huge action was supposed to run the workout. Call on Caprica 6 team also wanted their own camera crew the n.f.l. Pushed back on that they wanted to be able to have a little bit more control of the workout and not let the n.f.l. Control everything and the n.f.l. Pushback on that so call in capper Nick moved his workout they found another location and he's now getting ready to work out if it's not already under way and he's got 5 or seniors there so huge Jackson who is supposed to run the workout bailed because it was basically a clown show and and Hugh Jackson was like What the hell is happening here this is you know probably weird and just decided not to do it so capper next got this workout going on the n.f.l. Has just released a statement and a statement reads as follows from the n.f.l. On capper Nick quote We are disappointed that Collin did not appear for his workout he informed us of that decision at 2 30 pm Eastern Time today along with the public today session was designed to give Collin what he consistently said he wants an opportunity to show his football readiness and desire to return to the n.f.l. 25 clubs were present for the workout and all 32 clubs their head coaches general managers and other personnel executives would have received a video footage of the interview and work out shot by the Atlanta Falcons video crew it is important to note the following more than 3 fourths of the n.f.l. To sum all that up this feels like everybody's point fingers at each other like I wanted it my way no I wanted it my way and here we are it's another layer in the circus that is involving Collin Kapur nicotiana foul you're lookin and it's kind of hard to stand there for right because here I am having been in similar situations where I've had 2 or Gov 2 Mets American season in Buffalo go to training camp I get cut I am now a free agent and I'm just kind of hunting for a job I went to a handful of teams individually and worked out on Tuesdays when you go there Jonas to just explain it to the listeners when you go and work out for a team you get some standard issue grays a gray shorts a great c. Shirt you're there with a handful of other players and you are just happy for the opportunity. You sign the waiver that is issue there because what teams want to do is protect themselves in the event that you get hurt at the workout that they're not liable for having to pay you because you're working out really. On your own for them and so you're willing to sign a waiver to have the opportunity whatever typically for quarterbacks it is uncommon for quarterback to get hurt at a workout I haven't really heard of a quarterback getting hurt and so all of those things are there and so what you're doing now and what we can talk about the n.f.l. Doing a p.r. Stunt this is a p.r. Move designed to maybe just kind of shut up comic African all of his supporters to give him an opportunity. I go back and forth on this right because I am one who believes like Colin Kaepernick is talented enough to be in the league However I also know that if he really wants to play in the league at some point you've got to play by their rules and this was a situation where look if they're trying to do this even if this last minute even if is not ideal what you do is you go you show up and you prove to people that you can play because as some point no one here is right they don't care about will and he decide to have more receivers as some point you have to show up and you have to be above it and so if he really wants to play if he really wants to be a guy that has to scratch and claw his way back in when you get a scratch and claw your way back yeah and I look I think I think they were each maybe trying to call each other's bluff for sure and and so and there's gamesmanship going on here because the relationship clearly isn't peachy regardless of the settlement that came along with it so the n.f.l. Is not innocent in you know in this whole process but this goes to a bigger point about capper Nick and everything that comes along with capper Nick is he talented enough to play in the n.f.l. Yes Does he really want to play in the n.f.l. I'm still not sold that he does because I think if he really wanted to play in the n.f.l. He'd be playing in the n.f.l. I firmly 100 percent believe that but then you bring him to a workout or you invite him to workout and you can say it's short notice or not and they've got to shoot a Nike commercial the hell is that I mean did you shoot a Nike commercial when you had your workouts in the n.f.l. I don't and I'm not trying to fault the guy for trying to make an extra buck that's fine but this is also what comes along with it and then the n.f.l. Goes on to say look he moved to locations like an hour away from from where this was at and so it just it's another layer of drama that doesn't need to be there and I am and I'm telling you the biggest issue with capper Nick is not about his ability to play I don't think it's the kneeling I don't think it's the protesting I don't think it's the wearing. It police pigs on his socks from years ago I don't think it's a profound El Castro sure I don't think it's any of that stuff I think it's people don't want the backup quarterback to be a louder voice in the room than the starter starting quarterback I think that's a real issue for n.f.l. Teams and all this did was perpetuate everything that everybody believed was going to be happening when you welcome call in Caprona back in regardless of what how he performs I don't think he's getting signed this year I don't think he's getting signed in the offseason I think we're going to continue on this trap for the next few months I just I don't know I mean I think I think we've got to reach that point at some point like if you want to plays you have to play and he may have to play in a to league. In that ideal circumstance and he has to come to work his way back up and are in the Right now I will say this we've seen this happen before we guys have been out the league in kind of come back in reemerge as players we saw this use in years ago with Tommy Maddox who I think set off for 2 years and then came back yeah and eventually we came out I think around the Cunningham also set off for years so before he turned back up in Minnesota next he. Countered resurrected his career yes so this is a situation where because court press can play for such a long time it's not the end of the world that he set out for 3 seasons but at some point yes to get back in the mix or is going to be one of those stories where we always speculate like what if what if you've got a chance to go back. Is there are we were hearing reports that Michigan State players were wearing helmets on the bus is that is that accurate Did you see any of that and what did what did you make of that story that came out oh that's interesting that it's not something I had seen yet unfortunately kind of leave pretty quickly right after the game and I can reach out to their their team right now but I had you know it was one of those the media yeah there was just pictures of guys wearing their helmets on the bus and I just thought it was a little a little bizarre and I wonder just in you know and I see that stuff that is just coming out now but I wonder did you Michigan State's having a down year and they're looking like you know it's not a good season there's been talk about Dantonio and his future there with the with the program did you get any sense that they were either panicking or maybe just a little down on how the season has gone or with a upbeat approaching this is a rivalry game and a chance to make a statement. Yeah you know it's so hard in the sun because of course me look at the score line you're going to say the Spartans didn't come to play but I didn't get that sense at all coming into this one and you know I no question Tonio has been kind of hearing the criticism I looked on social media after after the game and just saw some of of the reaction and truthfully Look I think he's an incredible coach I've always really liked being around him I think he has a. He's just got a special something going there and I think when you look at the way the season is going for them it's hard to it's hard to see the positives right now when working had his moments today he struggled and I think they just overall have had a year filled with injuries that have been hard for them and it just feels like unfortunately when you look at this game it means for them it was could have been a turning point and it went in such a different direction and. Then tell me you had been really good in Ann Arbor I think just coming into this just to put that out there he was 4 and one playing the Wolverines. In Ann Arbor at the big house and he's had such success in this rivalry alone so when you look at the match up in itself in 10 years had a lot of excess but they have had a tough go and the devastating loss them against Illinois last week was really hard but I got a sense that the guys were ready they they were fueled by the rivalry of this game over a 100 players combined if you look at both these rosters from the state of Michigan so you know the rivalry runs deep and you feel it but they are early on you know unfortunately had some of those injury and injuries and just got Josiah's got their quarterback went down with a head injury in that 1st quarter and I think he was going to be a big factor in this one and trying to limit some of those receivers for the Walgreens and that did not help early and they had injuries really throughout the game as well you know Ginny in think about this like we just talked about missing say let's talk about Michigan for minute Michigan was a team that we kind of written them off after the poem about Wisconsin early in the year S'sepoys they played pretty good football I know they have the loss to Penn State $2821.00 but they the full will in that game how do you feel like Michigan is trending heading into look they have a game coming up against in the end and in a play the big game at the end of the year do you feel like they've come to turn it around on the whole by the season oh my gosh I'm 1st Sure I mean it's I can't even think back to you know I was on the sidelines for that Wisconsin disaster and also a disaster because it felt like it felt like it on the sidelines there was no energy there was no rhythm and there were still a lot of just frustrated faces and I hear that that Michigan would not be able to turn around and truly we saw it happening against Penn State right they had the opportunity they have that Ronnie Bell had that dropped pass the opportunist tie it up and it feel. Like since then that moment the office Israelis not only behind him but just behind everyone as a whole and Coach Brown their geek ordinator all year he's been saying this is a group this is the hardest working group I've ever been around and he was saying that from the beginning and then he talked to these players and they said Week one we are closer than we've ever been we have a certain sense of pride to what we're doing so you saw some of those early losses and then you look at their struggle against arming I was on the sideline for that one I was there were some there were some moments of restoration but they have just turn it all on and I feel like Michigan right now is playing their best football we saw an incredible day for say Patterson arguably his best day as a quarterback that Michigan I mean he actually had Tom Brady for passing yards against Michigan State I mentioned it to him in our post-game interview he gave me like a oh wow I thought the go he had a good day happiest I've seen him truly I could just sense the excitement from that group and you saw them celebrating with the Paul Bunyan trophy you know I mean this is a rivalry that matters and I think they'll take this on the road to Indiana and you know what Ohio State 2 weeks I don't know if they can beat Ohio State because they're playing on a different level but I. Truly believe it's going to be a competitive game Jenny Taft Fox Sports ones undisputed was also on the call for Fox's college football coverage of Michigan State and Michigan a big win for the Wolverines earlier today Jonas Knox Bucky Brooks here on Fox Sports Radio Jenny I feel like the national narrative on Michigan is always and you obviously do in the national show escaping Shannon as well harvested disappointed disappointment Michigan's been a disappointment and then you look and they've got 8 wins on the season yet now so is this just us on the outside totally misreading how they feel about the program on the inside there in Ann Arbor. I've always gotten the sense that we in the media I guess as all of us we look at Michigan as this. Elite program and that expects assess success and as they should and especially with Harbaugh and given the fact that he struggled against those ranked opponents in the past you know there's the criticism has been there but I sat down with Coach Harbaugh yesterday I sense a very confident Harbaugh and you get different versions versions of him throughout the season and I really got the vibe that he's feeling good about where this team is going coach got as their office of corn eater you know there were early struggles but there's going to be growing pains with the same so you know what I love about Michigan is every single player knows what they're getting into when they decide they want to go to Ann Arbor they expect the criticism they expect the attention and they're all prepared to live up to it in so many ways I don't think they care what anyone saying do I believe it but I mean if you don't how it's not even if it's crazy to think of what they could do if they if they could beat him but you start looking at their schedule and some of those games how they'd be 10 states you know that we're in a whole different conversation about the Wolverines So that's what's so interesting about this team but I know they're playing for something special right now and you know Clee cuts in head that block today the energy on that sideline let's just compare it to Wisconsin and this is a different team. You know in think about that you talked about the energy just when you had your interactions with Jim Harbaugh How is he being because I obviously he kind of set the vision for the program with an energy like what is this confidence Ben like when you had those want to want with him I think his confidence is high right now and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that you know 1st of all shapes take care of the football and they had those early turnovers that were just a problem and he said you know we really have taken it upon ourselves to be better and I did get a comfortable vibe from Harbaugh in a sense that he feels like they're going in the right direction and that just speaks to having some of these veterans in the experience and just the expectations but you know heart of one of those guys were you'll sit down with them you don't necessarily know you're going to get he told us a great story yesterday about one of the running backs on Haskins is kind of come on to the scene and it really had a bit he's had a couple really big games he said against Illinois or leading up to Illinois they knew he was going to be a factor had a big one there and he told us this funny story about how there are 3 buses at Michigan there's bus 12 and then bus 3 for some of the specialists you know the guys are not really in the too deep and I guess a sauna but getting on bus or even after a performance against Illinois all the guys like no no no you're on bus one now like you're on bus one and just joking with us laughing and it's the story but he's opening up to us and that just leads me to believe how good he's feeling about this group because that's a different kind of Harbaugh that I hadn't seen always and it's been a really pleasant experience to cover this team I cannot say enough about Coach Brown I love the guy he breaks down defense he breaks the defenses to me as if I'm one of his players just incredible to be around him and the guys love playing form and then coached Gattis in the receivers there talking about how much he's helped them and he said that when you look at my receivers we're talking about Nico Collins a bit of.
