Moses comes then understand the truths in John 317 For God sent not his Son into the world 2 can down the world but that the world through Him might be saved and Luke 956 for the Son of Man is not come to destroy men's lives but to save them or Jesus also said in Luke 1910 for the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost and so out only after Moses stop being afraid only after that he stopped trembling and he opens his eyes and only after that did Moses get $100.00 Gonds page of saving the last and then Moses decided that he was going to be God's vehicle to save the last mini People today are still with Moses in verse 6 hiding their face from God afraid of God Many people today because they have sinned and they know they have sand and they should they think they should stay away from God Many people today are like an add on in the state that we saw him in Genesis 3 where he was running away from God hiding in the garden because he thought that God wants to get his hands on him to judge him for what he's done and what made the difference Moses was there till hiding his face afraid to look on God But what made the difference for Moses when did both as a stop to be afraid when did Moses take his hands away from his face and stop hiding his face what made the difference for Moses. It was when Moses listened to what God said it was when Moses heard the words of God and he time understand that God saves from sin that God wants to deliver and it was after that Moses realized that he did not have to fear God anymore that's why it is so important today for a laws sinner to stop running away from God and to turn to God and to hear and to receive the words of God in the Bible turning to God and knowing who he is through his words in the Bible stops the fear and it stops the fear because it brings an understanding and the understanding is John 316 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life what makes this difference is hearing God's words but God makes this invitation to be saved and to be delivered from sin but it's limited it's limited to this life time because the Bible says in Romans 1013 whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved but Hebrews 927 also says For it is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment. Now notice in verse 7 where we see here what has motivated God to come to Moses what's motivated God to come to Moses It's sad as in verse 7 the Lord said I have surely seeing the affliction of my people which are in Egypt we see how God did not say I have seen but he said I have surely seen double emphasis God told Moses and verse 7 dead he had surely seen how his people were being afflicted by the Egyptians and that in verse 7 God said that he has seen how his people have been or pressed by the Egyptians and you know it's very interesting when you reverse 7 it's not just only I have surely seen but what's interesting in verse 7 is how God refers to the Jewish people who are being reflected God said I have surely seen the affliction of my people. He said My people that's the 1st time in the Bible that God calls the Jewish people my people and so it's most as Moses here in the burning bush was the 1st one to ever hear God call the Jewish people by this new term my people and this new term my people for the Jewish people is a term that God will use over 200 times from here throughout the Old Testament the Bible now we understand the Bible is a revelation of who God is as seen in his relationship with his people when exactly say it was a smooth relationship at times pretty rocky but nevertheless the Bible is a revelation of who God is as seen in his relationship with this people that he calls my people God will use the term my people in the Book of Exodus 17 times and the theme really of the Book of Exodus is God delivering his people from Egypt and bringing his people to himself God's people then turn away from God That's the we're going now through the history of the Jewish people God's people turn away from God It's calm unaided when God's people the Jewish people call for God who came in the flesh to be crucified and they watch him die with a sign over his cause that says King of the Jews in essence that's where God is saying I am the God of my people so the Bible is a plea from God to His people to repent or turn back to God That's why the term my people is the most used to. In the major profits because that's where God as specially reaches out is he n. Of mercy to them so we find the term my people is used in the book of Isaiah 27 times we find the term My people used in the book of Huizi kill 30 times but the term my people is the most used by the weeping prophet by Jeremiah where we find the term My people used 45 times in the book of Jeremiah Now if you had a son and your son turns away and rebels against you when would you use the term my son more before he turned away from you or after he turned away from you you'd use the term my son more after he turns away from you before he turns away from you you might say from time to time I love you my son my son I love you something like that but after he turns away from you then your hearts are broken and what are you saying all the time I taught my son my son come back all my son my son you would not meant for your son that's why the term my people is used so much by the weeping prophet Jeremiah it's God lamenting for his people as a matter of fact God through Jeremiah meant so much for his people that Jeremiah actually writes a 2nd book called lemon Taishan Zz which is God lamenting for his people and when God through Jeremiah love men over his people he describes 2 evils which of caused his people to be lost and to turn away from him and he described them in the book of Jeremiah in Jeremiah 213 where he says for and there's that term for my people have commit. Added to evils they have forsaken me the fountain of living water and hewed out for themselves and you dumb out cisterns broken cisterns that get a hold no water. So this is a picture of God calling out to his people the Jewish people is seen when the Lord Jesus Christ stands in front of Jerusalem and cries out in the Matthew 233-7239 with these words all Jerusalem Jerusalem can't you just hear the my people in those words all Jerusalem Jerusalem the how that Kilis the prophets and stillness them which are sent on to the How often would I have gathered by children together even as a hen gathered her chickens under her wings and you would not be hoed your house is left done to you desolate for I Santy you you shall not see me henceforth till you shall say Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord also God reaching out to Israel is seen as its capture and Romans $1021.00 quoting from Isaiah but it says in Romans $1021.00 but he is real he say that all day long how I have stretched forth my hands to a disobedient and again saying people suffer the most number of times to turn my people appears in the books here is the ranks Jeremiah 45 times as e kill 30 times as they are 27 times and then Exodus 17 times so the Book of Exodus is the Jewish people before they nationally rejected God From which is equivalent to us saying from time to time I love you my son so the term my people appears to 70 times there as the Jewish people are still in this just adopted phase and in the Book of Exodus but by the time the major prophets have come but by the time. The history of the Jewish people has reached the major prophets. Jeremiah the adopted Jewish people have nationally rejected God which is equivalent to Oz lamenting over our lost son to return and just as we would cry out often my son my son come back so we find God saying my people 45 times and Jeremiah 30 times and 27 times and I see him and as he kill God's heart is so broken for his people because of their own faithfulness to him that he says it is a kill $69.00 grow can with their horror show heart which hath departed from me and with their eyes which go a whoring after their idols that's the law meant to bull state that we find the Jewish people in today where except for a very small round that of them they have corporately agreed to reject their God The Lord Jesus Christ so as the enemies of the Jewish people today organize themselves against Israel against the Jewish people God cries out to them even today during this time that the enemies are on massing themselves against the Jewish people God cries out to them the words of King David in Psalm 8113 to 14 all that my people have hearken unto me and Israel had walked in my ways I should have soon subdued their enemies and turned my hand against their adversaries but thank God that this terrible time of their rejection of God by the Jewish people is only temporary because it's true a horrible worse than Hitler Holocaust is coming we're not a 3rd as happened in Hitler but 2 thirds of the Jewish. People will be killed and the remaining 3rd that survive will be purified and they will all return to God the Lord Jesus Christ as it says in the Prophet Zechariah verse chapter 13 verse 9 Zechariah 139 and I will bring the 3rd part or the one 3rd through the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried the it is pauses that we all know how Silver is refined we all know how gold is tried by fire they should call on my name and I will hear them I will say it is my people and they shall say The Lord is my God So the term my people which starts here in Exodus 37 is very very important and the termite people denotes ownership and that as when God sets his love on Israel that he also sets as bashfully a compassion for their suffering that's why it says and Zechariah 28 For thus saith the Lord of Hosts after the glory hath he sent me into the nations which spoiled you he the touches you touch at the apple of his eye now ownership has a cost and in order to adopt the Jewish people God broke the a Gyptian as he said in Exodus 19 for you have seen what I did on to the a Gyptian Zz and how I bear you on eagle's wings and brought you unto myself my people means when God says My people that means that God has adopted this people to be his own people as it says in Deuteronomy 142 the Lord hath chosen de. Be a peculiar people unto himself that's for sure above all the nations that are upon the earth now when God chose to adopt the Jewish people he explains why he chose the Jewish people among other people look down God looks down and he has a choice and he chooses to adopt the Jewish people and so he explains why and he says in Deuteronomy $76.00 the Lord thy God had chosen the need to be a special people to himself above all people that are upon the face of the are the Lord did not set his love upon you nor choose you because you were no more in number than any people for you were the fewest of all people but because the Lord loved you because he would keep the oath which he sworn into your father's house the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand and he deemed you out of the House of Bond men from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt so the Jewish people it is explained here were not shows and because they were numerous God called them the fewest in Deuteronomy 677 for you were the fewest of all people it's clear that in the Bible that the Jewish people were not chosen because they would not complain God called them murmurs in numbers 1427 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation God said which murmur against me for I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel which they murmur against me the Jewish people were not chosen because they would be obedient God called them a rebellious people in Isaiah 39 that this is a rebellious people and in Jeremiah 5 to 3023. He referring to the Jewish people God said but this people have a revolting and a rebellious heart they have revolted and gone the Jewish people were not chosen because they were truthful God called them a lying people in Isaiah 30 for verse 9 that this is a rebellious lying children children that will not hear the law of God the Jewish people were not chosen because they would listen to God God called them people that stop their ears in Zacharias 711 but they refused to hearken and pulled away the shoulder and stopped their ears that they should not hear they were not chosen because they would be loyal to God God called them and faithful as an adulteress in Jeremiah 3 o one he calls he said to about them that has played the harlot with many lovers yet we turn again to me say at the Lord they were not chosen because they would be right this before God God called them a sinful nation laden with the Nick Whitney's in Isaiah 14 were God said sinful nation people laden with the neck when he's seen either of the evil doers children that are corruptors they have for sake in the Lord they have provoked the holding one of Israel on to anger they are gone away backward some. If God didn't choose them because they were the most numerous If God didn't choose them because they wouldn't complain if God didn't shows them because they would be obedient because they would be truthful because they would listen to God because they would be loyal to God because they would be righteous it turns out that God didn't choose them for any of those reasons then why why did God choose the Jewish people to be as a people he said so in Deuteronomy $78.00 which we read. Because the Lord loved you and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your father's. Every reason for why God chose the Jewish people is not found in the Jewish people it's found in the God of Israel it's found in his enormous heart of love it's found in his everlasting faithfulness to the promise that he made to Abraham that's why that's wonderful the Jewish people are the beneficiaries it's wonderful and God through Moses wanted them to think about that he wanted them to consider it so he said and Deuteronomy 47 he asked them he challenged them he stimulates their mind he says think about this Moses says what nation is there so great who have God so not unto them as the Lord our God He is in all things that we call upon him for but with this title my people comes a special protection also as he said in Deuteronomy 3327 the eternal God Moses told the Jewish people the eternal God is die refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms he shall thrust out the enemy from before the and shall say destroy them so it is for us also who have received the Lord Jesus Christ like he adopted the Jewish people he adopts us who come to the Lord Jesus Christ whether Jew or Gentile as he said in Romans $815.00 for you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear but she have received the spirit of adoption whereby we cry Aba father and as it was for the Jewish people so it is for bow. Lever's the protection the special protection afforded to his adopted ones where he says in Romans 838 and 39 for I've persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor Prince apologies nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord and John $1027.00 through $28.00 he speaks you can hear these words the same God is said by people he says now My Sheep My people my sheet b. Says Hear my voice I know them they follow me I given to them eternal life they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand but one of the greatest verses in which the term my people is found is it in the context of the greatest protection that God provides for his people whether Jew or Gentile and it's found in that great chapter Isaiah 53 in verse 8 where it says speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ he was taken from prison and from judgment and who shall declare his generation for he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people was he stricken So in this 1st God looks at the greatest obstacle that stands in the pathway of his people and that's their transgression and God knows that for every single one of us Isaiah $53.00 so they have $5036.00 is a truth that hangs over us like a sword where it says all we like sheep have gone astray we have turned every one to his own way. You'll. I believe it was John Redmond associate pastor church. We are glad that you have joined us today is John continues a series on The Book of Revelation with this message. If I had my way every Sunday that I preach I would use these 30 minutes to encourage you to lift you up because you know that's what I think we need more than anything in life can be hard and we go through things and we just need encouragement to keep on keeping on to keep on trusting God and there's nothing that builds us up quite like somebody who is who's an encourager I know this past week someone encouraged me we were down at m.d. Anderson and I was getting on an elevator at one point I was by myself at this time and there was this young man pushing what I assumed to be his mother in a wheelchair so they got on the elevator and then there was this other lady that was on and they got on the elevator in front of me and I said to the 3 of am I said Do you mind if I ride with y'all and they said no there's plenty of room so come on I got in there and the door's closed and and I just sense that all 3 of these people were Christians I could just feel it in there the presence there in their countenance and especially the lady standing to my right and so I said something that I guess is a little unusual to say in an elevator to 3 strangers but I just felt it in my heart I said I think it's a real honor for me to ride this elevator with the 3 of you today and that one light it looked over at me and she said I since God in your voice and it made me feel so good and I just smiled and she said Are you a preacher. And. I am a preacher and she kind of did a little shiver and she said I can smell a preacher a mile away. And I didn't know if I should be encouraged or discouraged when she said that. But the doors opened and I walked out and I chose to be encouraged because I think I knew what she meant by that but you know I was reminded that encouraging is so very important and I really think most sermons because the Bible is full of encouraging verses and encouraging trues keep on keeping on keep trusting God keep moving forward don't give up a better day is coming God's going to bring good out of whatever you're facing so encouragement is so very important I say if I had my way every sermon operates would be only encourage me but the fact is the same Bible that gives all these great verses only encourage them and also has quite a bit to say about the judgment of God Now as a preacher I find no joy in preaching a sermon on the judgment of God sometime I'll hear a preacher preaching for example about Hale and the preacher gets so excited preaching about hail that you almost get the impression he's glad people are going to go there one day and I don't feel that way about hail we have to preach on it because it's in the Bible but it brings me no joy to think about hail in fact that one day many people will be there and I feel the same way about the judgment of God I wish that every sermon could be uplifting and encouraging but the fact is we have to preach the whole counsel of God and there are places in the Bible where we read quite a bit about the judgment of God And so as a preacher It is my responsibility not only to preach encouraging sermons although I wish I could do everyone like that but it is to preach the whole counsel of God And so when the Bible talks about judgment we have to preach judgment we have to preach everything that is in the Bible and so with that being said if you open your Bibles this morning to the Book of Revelation in chapter number 6 now we're studying through this book if you're visiting with us today for the last several weeks we have been studying through the in the Book of Revelation we've studied chapter one where John had this amazing. Vision of Jesus we studied in Chapters 4 and 5 where John was taken to heaven and he got to see all the wonderful things better now happening in heaven and for the last 4 weeks we've been thinking about about heaven and all the beauty and all the wonder and everything great that is going on in Heaven but today we come to chapter 6 and beginning with chapter 6 and all the way through Chapter 19 we're studying about a period of judgment it's known as the great tribulation now the Bible teaches that after the church is raptured up into heaven after all of us as Christians are taken to be with God in heaven that complete Harra will come upon this earth and that harm is the judgment of God We learn from the passage of prophecy and Daniel Chapter 9 that this period of tribulation will last for 7 years the anti-Christ at the beginning of that period will make a peace treaty with Israel and with all the other nations he will allow the Jewish people to rebuild the temple there in Jerusalem they've not had a temple since the year 7080 when the Romans burned it down and they got in the anti-Christ is going to broker this peace treaty in the middle of the 7 year period he's going to break the peace treaty the Anti-Christ will set himself up in the temple he will demand to be worshiped by all the people it's described in the Gospels as the abomination of desolation he will begin to persecute and try to kill as many Jewish people as he can it's going to be 7 horrible years before we get into the reading of the scripture today maybe you're asking this question well what is the purpose of this 7 year period this great tribulation Well I've written down 2 things you might want to jump this down if you're note taker number one the 1st purpose of the Tribulation it is God's judge. Judgment own those who have rejected Jesus Christ and who sands have not been forgiven you see God judges see and I think sometimes we have the idea and as I read in the quote we so should rest the love of God the grace of God the mercy and kindness of God the patience of God that we sometimes forget the Justice and the holiness and the righteousness of God and God is to just and to righteous to overlook see and I think sometimes we just think that God's going to turn his head on c.n.n. Every sand must be punished now your sins and my sins will either be punished by Jesus Christ when He died on the cross or if a person rejects Jesus and refuses Jesus that means that person sans our own himself or own her self and so those sins must be punished think of it this way if God were ever going to overlook sand if God were ever going to be easy on c.n.n. It would have been when Jesus Christ died on that cross to pay for our sins but God was it easy on Jesus Jesus had to die and be punished for sands and so every c.n. In the world is either own Jesus or it's own the person who see and who is rejected Jesus so the 1st purpose of the Tribulation it is God's judgment own those who sins have not been forgiven Number 2 the 2nd purpose of the Tribulation it is God's mercy giving unsaved people a 2nd chance and really a final chance to repent and get saved so here again we see God's judgment but we also see God's mercy and His will see next Sunday morning many will be saved during the tribulation period now what is the purpose of our studying the Great Tribulation Why would I be and why would we spend the next 13 weeks beginning in chapter 6 through Chapter 19 with only probably get through Chad. 18 before we pause for the Christmas break but why would we spend that much time studying the book or studying the Great Tribulation number one reason it is a warning to the unsaved what we're going to be looking at today and for the next several weeks it is a warning to those who will be in the services or who will be listening who have not made peace with God who have never received Jesus Christ it is a warning to the unsaved and number 2 it is a wake up call to those of us who are say to do everything we can to bring our family members and friends to Jesus Christ before it is too late so it's a warning and it is also a wake up call now where in chapter 6 but go back to Chapter 5 I want to just to review a little bit what we saw last week this will get us ready let's begin reading in verse number one of chapter 5 John is in heaven and he's saying this vision and he said I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne scroll written inside and on the back sealed with 7 seals then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose it seals and no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look at it so I wept much because no one was found worthy to open and to read the scroll or to look at it but one of the elders said to me Do not weep behold the lion of the tribe of Judah the root of David has prevailed to open the scroll and to lose it 7 seals and I looked and behold in the midst of the throne and of the 4 living creatures and in the midst of the elders stood a lamb as though it had been slain having 7 horns and 7 eyes which are the 7 Spirits of God sent out into all the earth then he came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne and so as we saw last week the only person in heaven who was worthy to take this. From the Father's hand was Jesus Christ himself now with that background go to chapter 6 and look in verse number one. John said Now I saw when the lamb opened one of the seals and I heard one of the 4 living creatures saying with a loud voice like thunder come here and so Jesus now begins to open this scroll he began says one there are 7 seals on the scroll and so one see only the time Jesus begins to loose this crow and as the scroll is opened we discover about the Great Tribulation we learn Faizabad phase about what will one day happen as far as judgment owned this earth and it's interesting the 1st 4 SEALs talk to us about the 5 about 4 horse riders or what some have called the 4 Horsemen of the apocalypse and these are people who are beginning to execute God's judgment own the earth and so let's just spend most of our time today thinking about who these 4 horsemen are and what the judgment they represent is the 1st horseman we read about in verse number 2 John said and I looked and behold a white horse he who sat on it had a bow and a crown was given to him and he went out conquering and to conquer Now the question is who is the writer of this horse Well you might be tempted to say this is Jesus and he's going out to execute God's judgment on the earth but in fact it is not Jesus instead it is the anti-Christ who always tries to look like Jesus I read last week. Rating in 2nd Corinthians Chapter 11 it describes the devil as an angel of light and the devil always tries to make himself look like God And so here we find the anti-Christ riding on a wide horse in Revelation Chapter 19 we'll find g. . Yes us riding on a white horse here we found the anti-Christ with a crown on his head in Revelation Chapter 19 we'll find Jesus with many crowns own his head so the anti-Christ is trying to look like Jesus but it's not Jesus it is the anti-Christ How do you know that how do we know that well 1st of all this crowd that he is wearing is called a stephanotis it is a victor's crown in other words the anti-Christ during the Tribulation will have a a period of time where it appears as though he has total victory over the whole earth but in Revelation Itay we read about Jesus's crown it is a royal diadem it is a kingly crown and only the Son of God could wear that crown also on this roster of the White Horse in Revelation 6 we find that he is promising something he cannot deliver he's promising peace and as I mentioned a moment ago at the beginning of the tribulation he will make a peace treaty with the world and he will promise everybody if you will follow me I'll give you peace but he is unable to give the peace that he promises a 3 and a half years into it. To heal break that treaty notice he has a boat but there are no arrows and so he's making a peace treaty but he's making a treaty that he cannot keep and so this is the anti-Christ this is Satan's Superman another way we know that this is the anti-Christ is not just because of the description in verse 2 but these next 3 riders own very horses would indicate to us that they are following the anti-Christ and it goes from bad to worse so let's look at the 2nd horseman and beginning in verse 3 we read when Jesus open the 2nd seal heard the 2nd living creatures saying Come and see another horse had went out and it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from. The earth so now the peace treaty is broken and that people should kill one another and there was given to him a great so word and so the 2nd horseman is war and we read here that war will break out on the earth nation against nation kingdom against kingdom man against man the sword that he is describing that this rider is wearing is a sword that you would use in hand to hand combat and so what we read here is that war is going to come to this earth just like Jesus prophesied in Matthew chapter 24 there will be wars and here it is now we know that the world we live in today is full of war and we know that terrible things are happening all over the world people are killing each other we see this on the news almost daily. Well as bad as it is now it will be much worse during the tribulation because during the tribulation there will be no Christians only Earth at least at the beginning of the tribulation how many will be saved but when the tribulation begins all of the Christians will be in heaven now how did Jesus describe Christians in the Sermon on the Mount he said that we are the salt and we are the light salt of the earth lot of the world what does salt do salt preserves What does a light do light brightens and so if you take the salt and the light out of the world there is no preservation and there is no light and people are going to be killing one another like that like and to which the world has never seen Let's move own and see the 3rd horseman and he then the rider on this horse is named famine because famine often follows war in verse 5 when Jesus open the 3rd seal heard the 3rd living creature say Come and see so I look and behold a black horse and he who said I had a pair of scales in his hand and I heard a voice in the midst of the 4 living creatures saying a quart of wheat for a denarius and 3 quarts of wheat barley for a denarius and do not harm the oil and the wine So what is what is happening here reading about famine own the earth is talk about this what's this mean a quarter wheat and barley and did Marius what is all this well in Babel times a denarius was a day's wages for a common worker you go out and work for a day you get it in the areas that's that's the equivalent of a day's wages Well normally denarius would buy 10 courts of wheat and 30 quarts of barley Now think about that but before the tribulation and New Testament times a denarius what about 10 courts of wheat 30 quarts of barley but we read here that during the tribulation during this famine denarius will only buy one quart of wheat . Or 3 quarts of Ali and other words it would be 110th of what it normally would have bought 110th the amount of food now one quart of wheat was the daily ration for a soldier so think about this it say is that with that in areas you will be able to buy one quart of wheat that's what a soldier would take every day to live and so during the tribulation a person will go out to work all day long and he will be paid he'll get it in areas but we used to could about 10 courts of way to get only about one quarter in other words he can only feed himself he'll work all day and with the money he makes he will be able to feed himself for that day no money for his wife no money no food for his kids alone so maybe he'll split up maybe he'll eat it all who knows but the point is it will be a terrible terrible famine own the earth and so they'll be great scarcity of food and then it says and do not harm the oil in the wind it seems to mean here the oil in one would be a reference to to wealthy people to those who are living in luxury and so it seems they are at least at this point have plenty of oil and plenty of wine so the rich will still be rich but most people are not going to be rich and even those who do will not be able to buy as much as they could have before but it will be a terrible terrible famine that will come upon the earth and that's what the 3rd ride it represents I think about what we've said so far the 1st rider is the anti-Christ on a white horse the 2nd rider is. Or owner in horse bloody red war the 3rd rider is on this black horse and he represents famine and the 4th rider we read about in Shia in verse number 7 is death and it says when Jesus open the 4th Seal heard the voice of the Forth living creatures saying Come and see so I looked and behold a Pale Horse and the name of Him who said Own It was death and. Hades fall in with him and power was given to them over a 4th of the earth to kill with the sword with hunger with death and by the beast of the earth and so death is the 4th rider and he is own a Pale Horse the color of death and human decomposition and decay and so here's death and following after death is Hades we've talked about Hades before Hades is the place where non christians go immediately when they die so we can say it this way Beth will take the body and Hades will take the soul and there will not only be death but there will be widespread death and it says people will be killed by the sword with hunger with death and by the beast of the earth so the animals themselves will be even more savaging and ravaging then they are today and it says a 4th of the earth is going to be killed if you think about the Anti-Christ and the people who are following the anti-Christ today well if you choose to follow the anti-Christ or maybe I could just say it this way if you're not following Jesus you're in fact following the anti-christ because if you're not pro Christ you would have to be by definition Anti Christ and we read in 1st John Chapter 2 in verse 18 that the spirit of anti-christ is already prevalent in the world and there are many small anti-Christ out there there's a sense in which every unbeliever is anti-Christ they're against Christ and so if a person has not chosen for Christ they have chosen against Christ Jesus said in Matthew Chapter 12 if you're not with me you're against me so if you're not with Jesus in essence you're following the anti-Christ and what can you expect in your life what you can expect exactly what we've seen here today 1st of all you can expect conflict in your life you can. Expect unmet needs in your life and you can all tamale expect death to that's where the anti-Christ that's where the devil always leads us conflict and then unmet needs and ultimately death but if you follow Christ you can expect the opposite of what's the opposite of war peace what's the opposite of unmet needs provision what's the opposite of death life and so if you choose Jesus you say I want to follow Jesus I want to fall of the one who's on a white horse with a diety a moan is a King of Kings and Lord of Lords What can you expect you can expect a life not problem free but you can expect a life full of peace full of provision and old really full of life everlasting and life eternal but not the anti-Christ those who choose against Christ will go from bad to worse they will be war they'll be famine and ultimately there will be death there will be Hades and finally there will be turn at the in the lake of fire in a place called Hail itself now let's look beginning in verse 9 and what is called The 5th Seal the cry of the martyrs and what I want to do with this I want to save the 5th see OTOH next Sunday. And I want to combine the cry of the martyrs with Chapter 7 and you might want to read this week Chapter 7 in preparation for next week's Armin But next Sunday morning I want to preach a sermon entitled a great revival and the behaving of many Christians because that's what's going to happen during the tribulation there will be many saved but many of those who are saved will be beheaded they will be martyred for their faith in Jesus Christ but I want to say that 5th seal till next week and deal with it in that context so now let's look at the 6th Seal in verse number 12. John said I looked when he opened the 6th Seal and behold there was a great earthquake and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became like blood and the stars of head. When fail to the earth as a fig tree fig tree drops its late fig when it is shaken by the wind Vinda sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up like a piece of parchment rolled up the sky is going to do that one day and every mountain and Island. Out of its place you think of all the beautiful mountains in the world the Smoky Mountains where I grew up the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and all the beautiful mountains and all the beautiful islands that you probably traveled in. It says this coming a day every mountain every island will be moved out of its place because of this massive earthquake and the kings of the earth the great man the rich man the commanders the Mahdi man every slave and every free man hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains and sad to the mountains and the rocks follow us and hide from and hide from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb for the great day of His wrath has come and able to stand with. It can be harder to in the day to day really listen to the Holy Spirit snatching of you know who is it that in our past today we can share the gospel with 4 more MacAfee conversations about faith can happen anywhere cause I'm Steve Douglas for making a life coach and Warren says God gives her courage as she shares him like the time she was seated next to a doctor on an airplane and we start a conversation and usually I like to just have my quiet time and just think on flights but I really feel like I was supposed to share the gospel with this person so we end the conversation and you know the conversation then leads to talk about faith and so I'm I'm sharing what the violence teaches and sharing the gospel and how my faith impacts my life and I remember in this person specifically saying you're trying to convert me you're trying to convince me of what you believe and this question Lauren off guard I remember as a bit caught off guard because he called me on it and I said Yes I mean you're right absolutely I want you to hear this message because I believe it and I it's so impacted my life in a positive way so of course I want you to have that same experience so I think that he it kind of you know took him off guard a bit that this was because I cared for him that I wanted to share that message. Is that love motivates her to share the best news ever they can be uncomfortable to have a conversation and try and share the gospel but it is because we love people I think if we love people and we will share the best news that there is when you share from a caring heart you more of God will use you to connect with people in powerful words for more stories and to learn how you can share was be. For him what good are making your life. What will you allow to motivate you today in The Book of Me or Maya a group of people who are busy doing God's work and then they experienced resistance from God hating enemies words from their enemy were having an effect the threat level increased the people were getting fearful distracted in their work was slowing down Nehemiah then spoke words of motivation that we stored their courage he told them to remember God into fight on behalf of those who could not sometimes God calls us to do work that can be discouraging when confident that we are doing His will we should remind ourselves that God's glory matters most so when resistance comes remember Christ in purse or veer in the calling that he has given you I'm Erin Paulus communications director for Life action ministries for one cry dot com. One Christmas decorations start going up in late October we run the risk of losing Thanksgiving and that's sad because the holiday is about a lot more than American history it's a day set aside to remember a crucial biblical principle of showing gratitude to God my friend Barbara Rainey wanted her kids to remember this holidays meaning when they were young it's so easy in our country for kids to grow up complaining and griping in and talking all the time about what they don't have and what they're missing out on and I thought he didn't even if we don't know anything else on Thanksgiving Day I'm going to have them write down what they're thankful for I hope you have some traditions that help focus Thanksgiving on the principal found in 1st the Saloni and give thanks in all circumstances this Thanksgiving why not take Barbara Raney's advice and have everyone in your family write down what they're thankful for.
