The seeds you know kids love adults love to pick one and then blow on it and it's almost magical the way the seeds just float in the air even when there's not a breeze they just they take their sweet time before they get to the ground and with the slightest of breeze it turns out that they'll go a kilometer before they hit the ground or it's that maze and we're not talking about during a tornado or hurricane we're talking about on a normal summer day they'll go a kilometer and so how can that be well this big study of the University of Edinburgh Fred over in England and what a discovery they made it's actually a new kind of natural flight that's right the title of the study is dandelion saves reveal newly discovered form of natural flight and why the plant is among the best fliers in the natural world it turns out that the bristles that are a top of each of the seeds that the way that they are spaced creates and controls an air bubble an air bubble that's on top of the seed. Is hollowed a seed Yeah it was a fixture of underneath the sea ice at that I'll get help stay afloat it's affecting the drag that's produced as the seed is slowly to says oh this bubble is on the top yet and it's actually in the shape of a ring so f. Rated vortex ring Yes So imagine like a wedding ring suspended above a dandelion seed only it's not made of gold it's made of air so you have a ring shaped air bubble and that is greatly enhanced seeing or increasing the drag on the seeds descent and they believe it to stay aloft for so long that it's it's really shocking when fizzy. This is look at this is the stoning to see how well these seeds stayed afloat Yeah and they know that the amount of air that flows through is precisely controlled by the spacing of the bristles that you mentioned earlier yeah and the efficiency improvement when they compared it with the best possible function of a conventional parachute design they said the efficiency increase is 4 percent more efficient Oh Im involved for that imo I read it already as I think if I read that wrong sorry 40 percent 41 here and thought about an improvement in Cincy 4 percent is a lot 40 percent. I'm reading that wrong 4 times more efficient 100 percent poor 400 percent more efficient then well we've come up with right conventional parachute designs so the way that God designed plants to spread themselves across the surface of the land in fact across the earth the biogeography that is studied where plants truly have gone around the world and they will hitchhike on animals or human beings in the helicopter cvs Fred you've seen them off of sycamore trees and maple Cho Yeah well there's all so when I grew up they were all over northern New Jersey and you'd see him fall and we chase him try to catch him in fact every fall as our children grew up we had a goal every fall each kid had to catch a leaf that was falling to the ground before it hit you know so much fun as the kids are $345.10 and then it's a tradition they love it and then the dandelion seeds you know they'll they'll go off a kilometer and the different ways seeds are eaten by animals and then passed you know Miles or even hundreds of miles away the. They're given rides on bird's wings it's just so brilliant God's design the way he did that Fred in fact if we could skip ahead to the trip for a moment I know we've got to do Pocahontas but on the way there were meeting in New York City and Sheryl and I arrived a couple days before everyone else we go to the main public library Broadway in 5th Avenue you love to be there spend a couple days researching mostly quantum mechanics up on the 3rd floor the reading room it's iconic It's like the fabulous rooms of the palaces in Italy from centuries ago only there they let you stay there and work there all day long yeah afraid it was just a nominal and so I requested some books from their stacks on quantum mechanics which they keep their books next to the library below Bryant Park if you go to Manhattan in town what a great place to get a breakfast across the street at Dunkin Donuts or something bring it over with your coffee to Bryant Park you'll feel like you're in Haven't even though you're in the middle of evil men and it is just so beautiful with the trees that God designed it all so I'm waiting for them to bring up the quantum mechanics books I asked from the librarian and I thought well let me just wander through the stacks and just pick a book at random and see whether it contradicts or affirms my biblical world view of what the Bible teaches Yeah so here's this 2000 pages Oxford's World History of food so I pull that off the shelf opened it up randomly the history of wheat cultivated wheat and you know it could potentially it could be Australia or sub-Saharan Africa here it is Mesopotamia I think early I don't use cultivate and of course right of course this is going to confirm the Bible's a caliph human history because the Bible is true so at any rate it's so neat to see . The way God made seeds including the dandelion seeds to fly in a way that actually has stunned some of the world's leading experts in this field Yeah and you mention biomimetic Well the researchers suggest that this could be used to improve drone flight and that's why I thought your earlier going to go to your trip I know that on your trip there was flying drones around which was really interesting Fred but they could use this for a drone flying we have some of the best footage every take in Florence that ends they get a drone and that's that's amazing it's I don't know I wasn't there that's my story and I'm sticking to it so you know it's all too new for them to have really well and forced rules about this these are some ancient archaeological sites and certainly from medieval times in the Renaissance and here we are you know brutal less is Dome and we're going right around all these incredible structures and then we have footage that looks to me in 4 k. Is smooth as could be better than any documentary I've ever seen while just this video thanks to he's a pilot was one of the nation's leading airlines and he's an expert drone pilot also so what an honor to have him I won't give his name though yeah well I'm looking forward to talking about the trip but before that we got to talk about you googled Pocahontas in the 1st thing that comes up as a listener with Warren who is the left wing the member trad senator who says for through her career she's Native American Yup and checked the box and said Native American right went to Harvard and yeah and in fact Harvard advertised her as their 1st person of color on their faculty maybe in that department or whatever I mean what a scam all right played scale. And so Donald Trump for all of the terrible things that he does do it like he's given Planned Parenthood a $1000000000.00 already and nominated all these pro Borsch and judges but when he called her Pocahontas that was terrible absolutely has it Erica and the media there is so stupid they've been reporting her results now they've backtracked and they've been apologizing and correcting but as though her results confirmed that she's It was good evidence just wrong about oss the globe I think had or I mean they had Mitt Romney as pro-life so that's all yeah talk about potheads but they had her I think as like a 3rd date of American or some everybody's lawyer and so then they backtracked and corrected repeatedly and so now they're saying that she had one ancestor possible from the 6th generation back to the 10th so to the 10th back if you think about that one in a 1000 if you had one of your parents 1st generation that the one hath so keep doubling it right I have 2 4th 8163264122 for 512020 there she's 1000 American Indian a 1000 and at that scale most white Americans are more native american than she is mostly oxer about one per cent are a lot more than if that's $100.00 so if we go by her logic Bob Next time I sign a application that asked me that those questions are yes to every single box Exactly so if there's some set aside or affirmative action plan I've been telling my kids for decades now when you apply mark that you're Native American. And I said well where were you born I was born here well what are you your native lot like your native nothing that's not right that a child should think of himself as native nothing. Like if you're born in Canada you're a native Canadian you're born in Mexico you're native Mexican So if you're born here you're Native American so just check Native American Anyway now we have the proof is he has the proof the liver is solid roof it's really powerful proof yet our full evidence exactly so t.v. Will feather chief eagle feather Ok a man with headphones dancing with headphones Ok yes it's a fun story and she ripped off minority status when actually ripped off real minorities Yeah that's what she did have a Cherokee for really not happy with what y'all Oh yeah in fact an actual descendant of the real Pocahontas Yeah said look a little bit Warren will you stop yeah you're not no an Indian and the spokesperson for the Cherokee Nation said if I could paraphrase Elizabeth Warren shut up yes just shout out right you're not a dandy and you're not a member of our nation just shut up Ok so let's get to the trip to get to so our Bible tour of Italy when in Rome do Romans Yeah and you know so I'm on Facebook and you know again I know you're out there and I'm seeing some of the pictures and then what shows up the crack me up I'm sure I know you're talking about is that the wow is your guide for almost 2 weeks down the alley is fabulous Yes So at the end of the trip he says you know in the hundreds of groups I have brought throughout my country this is the 1st one where members got a respite from you guys only for some for Bible Church right at the Vatican with a protest fabulous and will post the photos of the protests Ken and Joe Scott outside the walls of the Vatican Pope repents and resign and another sign of the same thing in English and Italian English in a tie and those guys are the real heroes Bob I mean when I was driving. And to do the show today I'm thinking you know that they claim that Capper Nick is a hero and this guy General who both sides he wants to be a woman he goes to the hero right Cabernet for his socks that that show the cops as pig Yeah yeah he's a hero Yeah right the true heroes are the Scots for what they do for the pro-life Scott is. Honoring God having Kerridge and having the courage to go to rest and we know it was a good chance they get arrested because in Italy it's against the law to disparage the pope You can't insult the pope but the problem is the pope insults themself by covering up those who have molested children so the pope insults himself he didn't he's disparaged himself like that by Bernie has said the pope should resign and shut the whole thing down and he really should so we had planned to do the protests the couple days before can we just got actually did it just outside the walls of the Vatican but that day about 6 of us were going to do it including my son Dominic and I general but it turned out it rained that day we had a fabulous day but we thought we can't do this when it rains and yeah and then Dominic is leaving with a few others who spent a week in Italy and then the rest of us are doing the northern extension so if it ends a and that's the Verona you know Florence and Venice and Milan we have just the greatest time ever so Canon Joe at work that they did the protests alone and they were out for about an hour and a half with their signs in Italian any English the police came and people from the Vatican came out we don't know what their status was but they had some kind of job there they try to discourage them leave they would leave so I mean the talk in the canon just got you think they're going to leave they're not going to leave so they called the police the police got. And could you imagine this Italian officer in broken English trying to tell you you can't disparage the pope and Italy I mean after every station just to go well so the cops took away their signs and the police are holding the signs for add hour and all people going by no one going into the Vatican according the Canon Joe No one expressed disapproval they were sad eyes that people would say this about the pope right outside of the Vatican but all the other locals in the tourist They were very positive they were appreciative thumbs up you know that kind of thing yeah so but the police are holding the signs for all that time and then they put them into cop cars sirens blaring and there's no way they needed sirens you know the one cop even told just Scott we don't need started something here sirens all the time in Rome I guess one thing I remember about one of the things I remember Iran's in. A hurry. And so it's almost like they wanted to add to the fanfare and the attention. Because when they got to the police station overlooking a square one story they put the signs right in the window so everyone azing out there for hours could read the pope should repent and resign and it's like the cops are protesting which happens to us the police often join our protest Yeah that's right a lot of fun so can we just got were heroes when we got there our 1st stop was puti Ollie At least that's how it's translated in our English Bibles That's where Paul landed near Naples right there at the port of Naples when he was on his way to Rome and there's a plaque there says Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles has been there wherever and so we began our Bible tour of Italy when in Rome do Romans explaining how crucial it is to the story of the. Bible that Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles and his message was You don't have to keep the Law of Moses you don't keep the Sabbath or the dietary laws you don't circumcise but you believe only in Jesus Christ and you are justified you're saved you have the assurance of eternal life and it's called a better covenant write a better covenant and why would it be better if there are it's same covenant Yeah many right will think of the same covenant it's the covenant of grace it's very exciting and so that's part of the story of not only the New Testament but the whole Bible so that's why my life's work is called the plot it's the story lot in Spanish the story line of the Bible because God revealed Himself in historical events in human history and that is a way more effective way to translate without being misunderstood. Because stories you might not even know the language I was watching a foreign language film on the flight an Alitalia and I thought Will this be fun to watch this not knowing the language and I'll see if I can understand I understood so much of the movie because the plot comes across Yeah so at any rate or something that started at parts Wolli there they say today and from there on we went to pump a the city destroyed when Mount Vesuvius are up it nearly 2000 years ago and saw a snapshot of the kind of life someone lived in a Roman city when the apostle Paul was there in Italy before it was Italy part of the Roman Empire while and then you're working your way up there oh yes well in fact from there we went to the a Mafi Coast Oh yes and I've never been there and I hear it's so gorgeous stretch of coast land in the world. All right think of the boot of Italy and Sicily if you're from Sicily you're signaling on you're from Naples you're not believed on well down toward the lower part of the blue you've got Naples go down further south Pompei further the Amalfi Coast probably 30 miles of the most gorgeous but incredibly steep and harrowing mountain roads where they've built these villas on sheer limestone cliffs hundreds of feet above the waves below and one of the fingers of the Mediterranean you know reaching up toward Europe so what I great time and then we get to Rome and to the Vatican and Fred you've been to Rome Yeah you know we did the Vatican or and what struck us was at the time of the me too movement and the homosexual priests raping boys scandal that's been going on for decades you know that was how long that's been going on the Vatican is a cesspool it's a cesspool it's got filth everywhere there are naked men everywhere often at like kids' eye level that you walk in and there's naked men in statues naked men and paintings they're obsessed with naked men they're a bunch of freaks when you mention that it occurred to me yeah I mean I don't know why at the time it didn't really just you know yeah hit me like that you're right because I remember a lot of the statues and painting and in some places like in Pompei we told our guide we want to skip the erotic they collect you know all the pottery all the jars in one area for tours the sea all the erotic are in another area so we asked to skip that part but when you're in Rome and when you're in Florence and elsewhere it's sort of hits you unexpectedly Yeah but as I things don't change of the sun do they know right. Exactly and you'd think that Christian leaders would know better because when sin came into the human race God clothed Adam and Eve and since then say and evil men have been trying to disrobe people in public. God clothes us for in public and the wicked take the clothes off of men and women in public and so the Vatican filled with naked men now why in the world and they say well that's the beauty of the human form Come on out a break 1st of all half of them are not naked women 1st of all where all the naked children are done they have perfect form and why don't they have a few of the bishops def Acadian that's pretty natural but hello there live here reason yeah they are a liar or else they put naked men because they're obsessed with naked men and I tell you who's going to bear a lot of the guilt for all the me too movement and the disrespect for women and the priests being homosexuals and obsessed Michaelangelo Yeah I judgement day he's in for a lot of punishment with the obsession with sex in the disrobing of human beings in public he's in for a horrific punishment Yeah and then Fred also at the Vatican you see throughout Italy all the churches in the basilica is in the cathedrals you see paintings in statues of not only pope's popes everywhere and cardinals and Archbishop some bishops and even priests and Francis of Assissi he was an o. Big time with the stigmata he was the 1st one to claim he was suffering the wounds of Christ right which is bizarre for years he's bleeding where Christ bled being crucified and they claim they're in the c.c. That he was the 2nd Christ because his suffering helped to save us. They still say that in this day and the end that none there Clara I think her name was who's a saint same thing just it's all crazy it is yeah it's tragic when I was in Rome there's a mystery I want to see if you solved it because I just have and I will solve it Ok I'll be honest my wife would be rolling her eyes or she heard me say that yeah but were you able to find the 15th chapel. Let alone the 4 sisters. Capillary the 15th temple as their 14th. You know I should say this I was on the sea broadcasting for years and there was one of the summer all brothers was on t.v. And the poor guy he had never read a book in his life we go to Italy we make a Bible tour of Italy you know this award winning video to this day d.v.d. Blu ray download Bible tour of Italy he is on film speaking about the golden heights we're on a ship in the Sea of Galilee talking about the Golden Knights. The golden How do you come back to South Bend Indiana to Notre Dame and the guy who's supposed to produce this video to show it on national on their down work nationwide Bob what do I do Steve Summerall keeps calling them the Golden One and it's the Golan Heights and the poor guy has never read a book in his life he has no idea and he's this talking head on this charismatic t.v. Station killing everybody I mean some of these guys we had a deal in apathy like Jesus did you know Fred we had our own bias in our own group and our own tour but we were with probably 6 other busses and we get together you know once a day the whole group they were healing people of cancer $23.00 times a day the same people yeah and I said to Steve I said Steve people in our church they only get cancer like maybe once in their lifetime. Your group you guys get cancer 2 or 3 times a day how why do you have to go to heal them of cancer every day 3 times those a weird anyway yeah that's a distraction Golden Knights So Fred with the naked man at the Vatican the adoration of men like you'll have some bishop or archbishop with angels or children as he and all around him adoring him all this obsession with men the of session with Mary who's usually bigger than Jesus bigger than anybody else the perversion in the obsession you know totally yours how they pledge themselves to marry which undoubtedly makes her sick to her stomach she's not God she's not omniscient she's not I'm the president so when people pray to Mary she's not there to hear it and she probably doesn't even speak their language so it's it's just tragic it really is the Bible tells us that there is one Mediator between God and man and it's the man Jesus Christ who is God our Creator and our Savior he's the one mediator the Apostle Paul writes Mary is not a mediator she can't hear she probably can understand your pig latin or whatever language you're speaking or any of those saints if you pray to which I did for I don't know 20 yet I grew up without it I click Yeah Ok we're running out of time in this broadcast so go to our website to catch the rest of this program Real science Radio dot com. Well it's good to see you all here this morning. So anyway take your Bible and turn to her. Corinthians in Chapter 11. I hope that some of these things will enlighten your little bit of hope it will help you 1st Corinthians in Chapter 11 it makes the statement here in verse 17 now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not that you come together not for the better but for the worse isn't that a terrible thing to say to a people at a church you would be better off not coming together when you come together to the church it careen He says it's not for the best he says among you he says there's bitterness and strive and envying and just one problem after the other but here we was talking about a particular time when they came together in memory of the Lord's Supper which was supposed to be a great occasion a precious moment a solemn time where it demonstrated the love that people had for the Lord and for what he's done and who they are now what they have in Christ the unity that they have among the brethren and there was anything but unity so he says in verse 18 he says but 1st of all when you come together in the church I hear that there be divisions among you and I partly believe it now you know that there is something else that he says here in verse one be you followers of me even as I also am of Christ now I praise you brother in that you remember me in all things and keep the ordinances as I delivered them to you I praise you that you're doing it but not the way you're doing it. So maybe there is a correct way of doing something sometime we do you know the things that we know are right but something else is missing did you know you can go to church and still not be right you can read your Bible and something still not right and so there's a lot of things we do that something still missing in it and so sometimes it's best of pasta stop to go back and take a look at what I want you to notice was here in verse 19 but there must be also heresies among you that they which are approved by you these people that don't believe. That they may be made manifest among you when you come together therefore into one place this is not a the Lord's Supper for in eating everyone take it before him his own supper and one is hungry and another is drunk Come what have you not houses to eat and drink and or despise the Church of God and shame them that have not what shall I say to you shall I praise you in this that I praise you not because they were doing what they were doing well out discerning the Lord body not understanding why they did what they did not they should have but you know how the old simple nature gets in and kind of stir things up and it isn't like it always happens take a Bible look here and he wrote in chapter 10 very quickly. And Hebrews in chapter 10 and there in verse 26 verse 26. Or says For if we sin wilfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth every made of no more sacrifice for sins so he's talking it about in reference to something he had just told them that they should do and not to do what God says to do is to willfully disobey the Lord now you and I know as believers we wouldn't purposefully disobey God would we while he says in verse 25 not for sake in the assembly of ourselves together as the manner of some is so it is the manner of some it's their habit that they don't so God says I want to do this even such as you see the day approaching and how many of you believe that the Lord could come back soon and if you believe that then it should encourage just be more faithful as faithful as we can but. I know when you trust Christ as Savior the Holy Spirit indwells you as the Holy Spirit indwells you he can teach you and so therefore we simply are giving scriptures and tools by which the Holy Spirit can use to help you to see and understand we don't play God in people's lives that just doesn't work and we want to see what is the message of the Lord's Supper and also have the grace to proclaim it. Not only in partaking but understanding what it means now there's no way possible to fully explain everything that happens in a a Passover and the symbols that they had and what it meant in their representation we have a little bit of an idea and because of what the Scripture says but as time goes on and after a couple 1000 years you'd be surprised how things change in our mind and what they don't maybe mean what it should mean and people today you may have trusted Christ as Savior but don't think that well that's not that important I don't need to have the Lord's Supper to tell me that Christ died for my sins I know that I remember that so I don't have to do that I believe crisis coming back Ok so why should I have to do it and you know looking back and looking forward since I already know that I don't have to do it and you'd be surprised as people can live their lives as a Christian and never partake of the Lord's Supper they never come together there's no do it they don't need it if God says we need it do we need it if God says to do it should we do it you say you don't need thousands of verses that says the same thing are you going to have as one verse that God reveals His will and says this do and remembers of me how many times should God have to tell me that one time. And I'm supposed to obey whatever God Word tells me that I should obey and faithfully partake of it as often as you do it I carry going to church we observe the Lord's Supper at least 12 times a year and there are 7 rays and we observe the Lord's table number one in you've heard me say this many many times it is a divine suggestion. No I've seen a sign one time is says the 10 commandments were not 10 suggestions you ever see now this is not a suggestion it is a divine command and this celebration of the Lord's Supper is a solemn obligation to assemble with the people of God to remember in the Lord's death anything that hinders you of from coming must be put away in order that you may show his death until he comes there is something that we show by the demonstration of what we do at the Lord's Supper and this is what makes it so very important is it possible that we can lose the importance of that they called we just do it so many times or we called we sing certain songs so many times it's lost its meaning to us and we just sing out a rote memory and little by little things lose their importance to us that can also happen where the Lord's Supper and this is why it's so important number 2 is a blessing privilege We welcome every opportunity to preach Christ if this is one thing that we could do that would please him I would say it be one thing that I wanted to whom I'd want to do what it takes to please the Lord we are invited to come and sit at his table and with him as our host I want you to take your Bible and look there in the book of Luke Chapter 22 Luke Chapter 22. And notice just a couple things that are mentioned here. Look in verse 7 1st 7 says then came the day of unleavened bread when the Passover must be killed and he sent Peter and John saying go and prepare the Passover that we may eat they said to him or will bow that we prepare he said to them behold when ye are entered into the city there shell a man meet you bearing a pitcher of water follow him into the house where he enter at then and you shall say unto the goodman of the house the master say if under the where is the guest chamber or I shall eat the Passover with my disciples and He shall show you a large upper room furnished there ready and they went and found as he had said and they made ready the Passover when the hour was come he set down and all 5 of the Apostles showed up with him one I've been something that they had to pass over and Jesus where John. You know he you know he's married. He wanted to be here but he just wasn't able to make it worse Peter Well he was talking to somebody you know he just talked on and on and on he just talked all the time and he's in an argument with somebody well he wanted to be here but he just told me to tell you that he'll be there in spirit. These are things that I've had people tell me so this morning we have a lot of spirits. This is one spirit filled church. There's a message here somewhere. How many of the disciples do you think he wanted to be there for that. He had 12 how many of you wanted there and you wanted 12 there do you think he expected them to be there. So it's an important thing it's a God honoring thing it's what we do because God says so you don't always do what you want or like it's what God says just whatever God says I learned a long time ago I don't want to fight with God I don't argue with got I don't care to debate with God What I lose why are you or somebody you know you gonna lose why are you with your wife you know you're going to lose. You know that before you ever start. I don't need to say that I'm glad we're having communion this morning I can confess my sin what ingratitude when any of us fail to attend the Lord's Supper specially if it was possible to do so it would be a shame if we think it's not important or we have in gratitude toward the things of God or to the church because we just don't think about it and so therefore it's nonchalant it doesn't matter so keep that in mind it's a necessary memorial the Lord we want us to remember him. What a rebuke because sometimes you know if you study the Old Test me you'll find out one of the biggest problems of the Nation of Israel is they will always forget he says you forgot you forgot you forgot there's thing that I forget I can forget where I'm going driving down the highway like to did the other night and almost didn't make the turn I got because I'll be thinking preachin Sometimes I forget about the speed limit. I'll be driving on the highway in that if the music is fast I drive fast. But we forget and God knows that we forget so will God's people forget the great prize that was paid for their redemption don't take it seriously did you know how you live your life reveals what his death means to you how precious that was to you. Your whole life should be one big thank you to the Lord for all that is done for you in a less you forget Well they forget whom they belong and we've become thankful for our salvation you see know when you're on thankful for your salvation when you're not thinking about somebody else's salvation when you have no concern to tell anybody else about their salvation you've forgotten something do you realize where you were go when you realize how wonderful is to know you have eternal life to know that you're going to heaven when you die and there's others that don't know that and you have absolutely no concern. There's something Mison Oh you may know crisis say you're going to heaven but you're losing something along the way and sometimes don't even know and so lest we forget there is a tender rebuke to keep our love a flame in our hearts a glow for the Lord a willing testimony every time we break bread where testifying when you do that you're saying something because it means something everything has a meaning now when they did the Passover I assure you it's a lot more involved than what we do but it's still important what we do but you and I know that everything has a meaning to it when it's something the God says to do in remembrance So there's things that God wants to trigger our mind because if he can get us the think right he can get us to live right the you think that's important I think it's important and if everybody does it in everybody thinks about it and then everybody will have of the same mine and live like it because it's a demonstration we witness to the fact that we are saved by faith by the cleansing power of His precious blood but it's a message that we proclaim and by our participation we are revealing how we think that is important to us if none of God's people would partake of the Lord's Supper what would that tell you what it say anything just the absence might tell you something or cause a question and you don't want then we declare the Lord's death we witness of our personal walk with Christ and we testify of his soon return so it has meaning the past and the present and the future because this is what God says to do as we look back and as we look forward. It's a humbling confession because you're knitting to God something that reduces the pride in an individual you see the Bible talks about when you're lifting up with pride pride comes before a fall and always remember God is going to test your pride so how is he going to test my pride see if how quickly you can get hurt. See how quickly you can get hurt you hurt my pride can your pride be hurt what would it take and if you get your pride hurt did you know your hurt can lead to bitterness and the bitterness is like a root that springs up and if other individuals know you don't try to do it but it will happen all because of p r I d so God wants us to remember the Lord's Supper and the payment he made Why did he have to do that because you and I are suppose understand our helplessness our unworthiness and as you look back you will see that I am saying that my sin was so great my iniquity was so vile my transgression so wicked in my guilt so heavy and that my Often it's so terrible that nothing but the death of the blessid Son of God could set me free and wash me clean. When a man gets saved just because he has to trust Jesus Christ and Him alone as his only hope of salvation because there is nothing in him that can produce any righteousness of his own that God can use as the foundation you deserve to be saved which one of us can god point to as now you deserve to be saved you deserve it now you don't deserve but did you do you know. And so whenever you remember but you remember I'm not worthy to be saved it was all because of the grace of God His love for me. And it should help you to understand that as you live your Christian life the one thing that the devil will do in every individual life is to produce the pride you don't need God you don't need church you don't need the preacher you don't need communion you don't need this you don't need that you're going to be your all self-made man. And God going to deal with you and so that's one of the biggest reasons why you examine yourself because you're looking for pride. You see one of the things that they did in the Passover is that they would before they got started sweep the floor as though they were trying to find a little bit short crumbs of bread that might have some yeast in it you know some lever then and get it all out at the same principle as in the man's heart to search the cleanse to get that taken care of there in 139th Psalm Requip 139 Psalm 139th Psalm. There is a statement by David that kind of makes it clear and could be a little bit about what he's talking about you see there in verse 23 Psalm 139 verse 23 says Search me oh God and know my heart try me know my thoughts and the reason is so that you can reveal it to me. I want God to search my heart because there might be things that I don't see maybe I have blinded myself maybe I have deceived myself and Lord I want to be honest I want to be clean I want to be truthful I want you to reveal to me something in my own heart that maybe is not right and you don't do that unless you have within you the desire to want to correct what's there so he says try me and know my heart see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting I know way I think it's a tremendous burst I am to examine myself judge myself and acknowledge my sin my failures my short come in between me and my Heavenly Father we're so quick to point out all the faults and everybody else but we sometimes can't see the ones in our own life or in the crevices of our own mind things that we've swept into the closet maybe it's time to come out of the closet and known the Lord's Supper is for accountability and we must be honest before the Lord do you think God knows the truth it might be that some people are off prayed to take communion because they know they're not right and have no intentions of getting right and know that if they do that without judging that the Lord made them but did you know whether you do the Lord's Supper or you don't the Lord can still what the Torah. An act of faith the Lord's Supper not only looks backward to the cross but forward to the crown you see you and I right now we're bearing our across and one day because of how you bear your cross will depend on whether or not you get a crown there's rewards that God going to have in heaven for us but remember Christ suffered and before the glory you and I are suffering now in this present we're all in this present body but one day we're going to have a new body and we're going to be rewarded with the Lord and we will be the gather with him forever we see our memorial services till he comes or whether we will forever gone I don't know I know that God told the children of Israel and this shall be done to their generations for ever as a sign but that's not the message it's a celebration from the Coming to the coming it's a memorial that is only for the time of his absence the large supper is for identification demonstration encouragement and faithfulness because if God tells you to do something and you don't do it are you faithful. You see by the faithfulness of our presence here today our faithfulness to come whenever we can our faithfulness to study the Word of God our commitment to explain in the Gospel the people in the live a clean life that it's all a sign of our faithfulness but it reveals our faith in the Lord what we really believe it's James Chapter 2 in action faith without works is dead no profitability to it is no rewards for it it doesn't profit anybody so therefore you and I have a responsibility as a child of God to serve the Lord and the be found faith phone a solid morning we are not to partake of His Body and Blood carelessly without a heart searching self-examination do not be guilty of the body in the blood of Jesus by partaking of the Lord's Supper in an unworthy manner or by purposely missing Holy Communion it is not wise is something that God wants us to do and therefore we do it not to be say but because we are saved you see we believe that when Jesus Christ came into the world he died on the cross and paid for the sins of every individual that's ever been born into the world and by that payment he made he made it possible for everybody in the world to have the free gift of everlasting life but the wages of sin is death so Jesus Christ was born into the world a body was prepared and the Son of God The 2nd head of the Trinity was involved in that body and he lived a perfect life he had no sand didn't have to die. And his blood was not going to do with an oath therefore he had precious blood His precious blood was in corruptible blood in his blood I believe last forever and I believe his blood that he shed in order to give his life because the life of the flesh is in the blood and he says I have given you up on the altar to make in the home and for your father because 711 and because his blood was then taken I believe into the throne room of God and placed upon the altar there is a temple there the one that Moses made was only a pattern at the one that he saw So we have someone who loves us and that was willing to give his life and the reason he did so for every individual because not one person could save himself and because he loved them all he died for all and whenever he came back again from the dead he said we would believe that he did it for us he would give us as a free gift everlasting life and we get to go to heaven what Jesus Christ did for us and we're to do this because it's the will of God. I want you to turn to 1st Peter chapter 4 and today we come to the 1st 6 verses in that chapter and today we're going to be talking about the conquering Christian. Because the Bible says as he is in this where are so are we not as he is in heaven but as he is right here he's victorious then so are we to be victorious so we're going to be talking about the conquering Christian how to live a life of victory over sin let's read it together All right 1st Peter chapter 4 verse one for as much then as Christ has suffered for us in the flesh arm yourselves Likewise with the same mind for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men but to the will of God. Well the time passed of our lives may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles when we walked in my Savior snus lusts. Excess of wine. Reveling. Band quitting an abominable I dollar Koreans wherein they think it strange that you run not with them to the same excess of riot speaking evil of you who should give an account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead but they might be judged according to men in the flesh but live according to God in the spirit and in these verses Simon Peter is talking to us about victory over this matter of sin through the cross of Jesus Christ I want to tell you something I want to pay attention Jesus Christ did not come into this world to save us from hail. Jesus Christ came to save us from sin. Matthew one verse 21 vowel shall call his name Jesus boy he shall save his people from their c n n their sin now I'm not saying if you say that you're going to Hell of course not you're not going to hell if you get saved but for him not going to hell is the byproduct of being saved from sin that should call his name Jesus for he shall save his people from their sin I would say something in it in say he was going to save his people in their sin but from their stand has the power sin been broken in your life. If not you've never been saved about call his name Jesus.
