Man or woman even though you are ungodly as you trust in Jesus Christ who justifies the on godly his faith is counted as righteousness and so you see we are declared innocent while we are on godly but still being worked on him by his grace through the Holy Spirit through Faith here's another verse Romans 3 that by the way was Romans 4 verse 5. Romans 3 says this for all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God while at the same time being justified that is declared innocent freely by His grace that's astonishing isn't it I added at the same time because it's implied in the in the verb here it says For there is no difference for all have sinned that's the past tense all sinned it should read as an arest past tense that sinned in Adam and fall short of the glory of God That's the continuous tense continually fall short of the glory of God being justified that is while being justified or while at the same time being declared innocent justified freely by His grace and so you see though we are we are sinners and though we are continually falling short as we trust in Jesus we are being declared innocent freely by His grace because of the redemption the purchasing the buying back that is in Christ Jesus. And then remember 5 Romans 510 for if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his son. Do you see that while we are enemies one our hearts are not in harmony yet and are still struggling with this that and the other we reconciled by what means by our own hearts reconciliation No but by Christ's death on the cross we are reconciled this then gives us perfect justification for saying that wait a minute I've lost the verse where are we there we are Verse 11 I mean chapter 11 verse 7 it gives us a basis for saying that we are not blinded as we trust in Jesus because whether we are struggling with sin or difficulties or dysfunctions or of one thing or another as we keep coming to Jesus for the mercy of God We keep believing that we are treated as righteous we keep believing that God is in our favor we keep believing that the sins and the failures and the defeats we are having Do not not counted against us and do not have power to condemn us that is what it is to be not blinded Don't you see that so often throughout any common day our brains our minds are always talking against us you've experienced that surely. Maybe it comes over in your dreams maybe you have a bad night and you are you recognize that you had a lot of dreams you woke up a lot and you remember that they were very stressed they were dreams expressing stress. Or your day isn't going well and you feel that this is God condemning you and why is this happening to you is it because you have not no longer have God's favor how does faith operate in this those circumstances because Be assured they definitely exist and if they don't if you think they don't you're not aware of yourself Well Faith expresses itself by continually pushing itself back upon God and saying Father Jesus you gave Jesus to me as my righteousness as the atonement for my sins you gave him to me so that I could stand up straight before you and account myself as writers in him because I have no righteousness of my own. This is the faith life which is a spiritual battle it's a warfare not against. Against Satan necessarily though it is but we don't have to deal directly with him it is against the inclinations of our minds to doubt. Our greatest enemy is doubt never forget that whatever trouble you are in that the temptation to doubt God's grace and God's love and God's care for you is enormous because we have a human nature that is riven with doubt because of the fall of Adam and we have inherited a human nature that has guilt and shame and fear in it and therefore we doubt God's love and that he could be so gracious to us faith is a gift from God and it is a gift that enables us to believe that God is wondrous kind that God is caring for us that God has forgiven our sins all of this wonderful package of grace. Prevents blindness it prevents us from believing that we are among the blind however don't go strutting around saying I'm I can see I'm just fine it's nothing wrong with me no the essence of sight is the recognition that Christ is my goodness and righteousness and atonement but that I in my humanity am a truly broken human being don't let. Recovery from blindness cause you to move into a state of pride in which you say I'm a righteous man no you're not righteous in yourself you are righteous accounted accounted reckoned as Romans 4 says as righteous that is reckoned meaning considered as imputed to you that righteousness is you are a righteous man imputed in Christ as righteous not in yourself. How sad that Israel and the rest of the world or much of it is blinded at this point but remember God's plan God's plan is to make the blind ultimately jealous by watching and seeing those who see and they realize when they see those people who see that those people who see have something they do not have and they long for it and they wish they had that peace and God. In that wishing is present he is leading them to wish he is leading them to long for it it is the 1st step to calling out God have mercy upon me a sinner. So keep coming back to God keep bouncing back in your struggles don't say oh because of my struggles I am such a dead man and blind no say Lord God yes in my stupidity I am in darkness but I thank you that in the faith that you have given me I see Jesus as my light and he is my one hope. This slave mindset and also the fact that they were among idol worshippers and people that abused them they were comfortable in that it was the only home they knew and yet they were never at home within its borders and what was salvation about leaving Egypt and going to the Promised Land they had never been to the promised land and yet it was their home salvation is about coming home from the Jewish people returning to the land of Israel to the prodigal son returning to his father salvation is about coming home I remember seeing pictures of people arriving in Jerusalem and kissing the ground. When they arrived there many of these people had never been to Jerusalem before but they knew they were home this is after 1948 they knew they were home and it's that mystery that's why we're never at home in this world why are we at home in this world I asked because it's not home he said because it's not our home our hearts can never be at home in a world of imperfection and evil of sorrows and dying and death seeing everything we know and love grow old and pass away there's a home but this world is not it and our salvation begins on Passover and Passover isn't only about being free it's about coming home coming home to God and coming home to home so home is my voice trailed off the place for which our hearts were made that place of no more sorrows and dying and death and no evil or imperfection and where nothing grows old anymore passes away the eternal the Promised Land heaven but we've never been there before we don't know what it's like yes said the teacher but when we get there then for the 1st time in our lives we'll be home isn't it and at the bottom of a day 364 you are not yet home live today in the light of that set your heart away from that which is not home and toward that which is your home in heaven and we're going to see the last of the book of mysteries to morrow day 365 wow we ended that pretty good pretty good John 1713 through 1900 now I'm coming to you father and this is Jesus' high priestly prayer now I am coming to you father I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy I have given them your word and the world hates them because they do not belong to the world just desire I do not belong to the world I'm not asking you to take them out of the world but to keep them safe from the evil one they do not belong to this world any more than I. It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people inner city who refused to obey God for she had given a friendly welcome to the spies how much more do I need to say it would take too long to recount the stories of faith of Gideon and our often Samson and Jeff on David and Samuel and all the prophets by faith these people overthrew kingdoms ruled with justice and received what God had promised them they shut the mouths of lions quenched the flames of fire and escaped death by the edge of the sword their weakness was turned to strength they became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight yes they did the Philistines and the Assyrians I mean they were they were a long the ground like ants along the ground and God took care of them oh he did We're going to be talking about that a little bit Saturday about the victory that God gives us women receive their loved ones back again from death but others were tortured refusing to turn from God in order to be set free and we're seeing that in in countries around the world people that are dying for the sake of Christ they place their hope in a better life after their resurrection somewhere Jared at their backs were cut open with whips Paul 5 times was whipped with a cat of 9 tails 39 stripes 5 times others were chained in prison some died by stoning Paul was also stoned some were sawed in half Isaiah was sodden half and others were killed with a sword some went about wearing skins of sheep and goats destitute no Preston mistreated they were too good for this world they were too good for this world that's right and sometimes you might grieve because maybe a loved one died early that earlier than they should have you thought that maybe they were too good for this world have you ever thought that that you lost your love loved one because they were just too good for this world. Wandering over deserts and mountains hiding in caves and holes in the ground and I heard when John on the Isle of Patmos when he was put on that island He literally lived in a cave that was on that island because it was a desolate island so in order to live there he found this cave and he lived in this cave all these people earned a good reputation because of their faith yet none of them received all that God had promised none of them received all that God had promised for God had something better in mind for us so that they would not reach perfection without us and so friend you are fulfilling something that these precious people went through to see you are fulfilling that that all the world would hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ all the world every creature if that's what Jesus told us to do go into all the world and preach the Gospel make disciples of people that's what with some of us some of us are evangelists we're we're bringing people to salvation introducing them to Jesus Christ and they're receiving salvation others are teachers who are growing up the body of Jesus Christ they're teaching them about the love of God and about what this word word says Oh praise the lord it's so wonderful to know that he is always with us ever ever with us I have another scripture here we just have a few minutes and it's from. Psalm 46 if I can hear find it here it is some 461 through 7 our God is our refuge and strength always ready to help in times of trouble seize your refuge he's your strength always ready when you're in trouble look to him say Ok God What you have me here for so we will not fear when earthquakes calm when hurricanes come and the mountains crumble into the sea we will not fear let the oceans roar and foam let the mountains tremble as the waters surge there is a. And I don't do this often but I went to Google because I don't really even have a source in my dictionary I have a Greek and Hebrew dictionary and it pulled up a bunch of very interesting stuff but I thought I could go all over the place with this but what this is referring to is metalsmiths or Goldsmith's as there were commonly called in the bible times they would test metals to check the purification of these metals and there is generally a 5 step process that this is referring to and I found this interesting because this verse Paul says to Timothy and to you and me believers he says be diligent to present yourself approved to God Was that me well what's what happens we're going to go through a test. And God is not going to take your pinky and break it and make your point that way to this test you he's going to give you an opportunity to obey or disobey God it's test have always been obedience to is. You know us I don't know the speed and you know what I actually did oh go back there after he gave me i'm on drugs back to sure enough there were 2 son. I wasn't paying attention. Now Ok thank God that's just a little speeding ticket I got that think their defensive driving is all good but here's the thing what about if you're walking here with God He calls you to be a god you're you're not paying attention you think God is with you but you find yourself in a trial and all the sudden it's revealed that there's some impurities on the inside of you. Where you got to be diligent to present yourself whose responsibility is this wow this is in your Bible by the way it's not out of context it's your responsibility to present yourself approved to God here's the steps that this refers to that the word approves that is talking about one they would mind some rocks Ok this is so they would take the chance of mind rot and they would put him in a clay vessel because this clay vessel it could be put in fire and it wouldn't melt and the metals would melt before before the clay would so they could put in a clay vessel so step to. These rocks and they step through as they put them inside the vessel and put that clay vessel into a farm where the metal was melted and impurities known as draw us or another word is slag. Well now listen we live in a culture where everybody's everybody's heard about that they're important enough to tell you that everyone is important Jesus died for everybody so on that level everyone is important but but think about this Ok there's a difference in being valuable enough for Jesus to die for you which is amazing but but I'm talking about are you valuable to the kingdom of God In other words can God count on you to shine a light everywhere you go are there places you're ashamed. Because here's the thing God he's wanting to show Himself strong right I like David he said it this way in Psalms 26 in verse 2 he said examine me o. Lord and prove me try my mind in my heart that word try means refined like a with the like a goldsmith would with metal. David was before the Lord and he said examine me oh Lord and prove me try. Hard Now let me tell you that sounds noble but you'd better not utter these words to the Lord until unless you're expecting a test and when he test you don't flunked the test. I've said this in years gone by and you need to know this how did I know that I was terrible as Spanish in high school because I flunked the test many times I scored a 1301 test no one had to tell me use think is Spanish I knew it and I could go to the class Joelle way through Pass notes through it but when it came testing time.
