Hello folks welcome to the program this is Dr Roger pillock tonight's topic from the conference God plus medicine equals health is vitamins and supplements Department of Agriculture the 88 did a study just just a few years back where they looked at the vitamin and mineral content of foods that you buy in the groceries. And they found that the content and they compared it to what they had measured back in 1965 not that long ago and they actually found that the on the average the content of the vitamins and minerals and key nutrients had decreased by about 50 percent. And so when I heard that because at that time they were recommending $4.00 to $5.00 servings of fruits and vegetables a day so to me it would be logical if there's half the amount of nutrients in the fruits and vegetables it seems like you'd have to double your recommendation of having eat so I expected them to follow it with a recommendation that now we should eat 8 to 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a day but they didn't do that and amazingly just last year the American Medical Association which has been one of the staunch. Enemies of nutrition know medicine for years and years finally came out and recommended that everyone take a multi-vitamin So that's a myth. In their Earth's rotational axis to get the a.m.a. To come out and actually recommend that everyone should take a multi-vitamin Now they didn't say what kind and I think they'd be quite happy if you were taking Flintstones one of a but. At least knowledge in that people aren't getting the nutrition they need any more from food. And so part of this is a change in how we're raising our food the depletion in the soil because if you look at how they fertilize the food. They put in the soil what the plant needs to be healthy but they don't necessarily put back in the soil what we need to be in the plant to be healthy so we can have you know you know. Real healthy looking for vegetables from these plants but the content of what's in them isn't necessarily what we need to be healthy and then there's the debate about organic and certainly there's every evidence that if you eat something that's organic it's going to be healthier for you but the problem right now is the word organic has no specific meaning there's no definition of organic. I was talking to . A supplier of organic meat and he was talking about how a lot of the organic meats that are in the regular grocery stores qualify for that because just you know starting I think he said like 30 days before they harvested the meat you know they stopped at that point giving them hormones and antibiotics so they they just got another wire so they can call it organic meat. So I do believe there's some evidence some work being done to define organic because you assume organic is going to be healthier and organic could mean that it doesn't have chemicals or pesticides or hormones or things in it or it could just mean that but that doesn't necessarily mean that it has the nutrition. You know they just didn't put any bad stuff in it but does it have the good stuff you need so again it's hard to know on organic. In general when they've checked organic foods they have had more nutrients than regular foods and people say. You know what that organic food costs more than it does in most cases but again you need to take the long view if you spend a little bit more food on money on the food you eat and you're healthier in the long run are you going to save some money in the big picture things I think most people so prevention is always cheaper. And then I finally get to thinking you know is there really that much out there that would be more important to spend our money on than the quality of the food we put in our bodies. And I have a hard time thinking of things that would be more worthy of investing in than the quality of the food we put in our bodies so even though people are saying you know that they're on a budget and everything but I think if you're if you're still a careful shopper you can you can you can do well with Whole Foods and organic foods and not spend that much more money so what are these vitamins and minerals. These are the micronutrients we've talked about fats and proteins and carbohydrates those are the macronutrients those are the big big items now we're looking at the things we need in small amounts and again Variety is the key there are required there are essential for many things and you have to get regular dosing of them in order for them to work some of these things don't stay in your body so you have to get them throughout the day. If you don't get them then it results in poor health and even illness so there are vitamin deficiencies you know beri beri and pellagra and Ricketson scurvy these are all diseases of a deficiency of the vitamin But the key here is when you look at how the government has established the needs the recommended daily allowance for the recommended daily intake basically what they're doing is saying this is the amount of that vitamin that you need to take so that you don't get the disease tain but there they don't they can say how much do you need in order to be healthy and some of these vitamins for example a good a good study on it these are water soluble vitamins to be vitamins in the sea vitamins that don't stick around some are fat soluble Zaidi Ian k. And then there's many many other categories of things bio Flav annoys etc. That are found in the whole foods that have yet really been categorized as a vitamin but we know that this is how God packaged the food and it comes with these other things with it. And we also know that these vitamins and minerals often are destroyed by cooking by food processing oxidation by poor to gesture and by competition with other nutrients. So people start getting into food combining in these sorts of things and some people that they need they may need to do that but I think most of us got design this is omnivores if you look at the way that the human teeth are we've got teeth for crushing in chewing in tearing we've got canine teeth for eating meat and we've got lots of food teeth for chomping on vegetables and fibers if you look at the at the enzymes that we've been given in our to system they're the enzymes of an omnivore for meat and vegetables and other things. So there's a lot of people there's this huge debate you know are we supposed to meet a response to be vegetarians and I've got a little 4 year old daughter who's just already smarter than I am. Because you know we thought we would be able to control her by giving her 2 choices you know if she wanted something well do you want to do you want the red one or the green one in both of those are acceptable to us but we figured we'd you know give her the semblance of having a choice and she would think about that for a minute and then she's bright smile and say I want both and I'm reminded of that with this debate about what are we supposed to eat meat or are we supposed to eat vegetables. Both Ok were omnivores That's how God's design most of us. But this idea of how many of these vitamins and nutrients you need it's really hard to say. Vitamin c. Is one of those nutrients that the human body cannot make but most of God's creatures that God designed can make vitamin c. S. So for them it's not a vitamin they can make it they don't need to eat it so they did an interesting study with goats who can make their own vitamin c. To try and figure out how much vitamin c. Does an animal make depending on the circumstances so they tested the goat when it was relaxed and happy and contented and it made you know a certain amount of vitamin c. And then they then they stressed it now I don't know what you do to stress a goat. I've got some ideas. But However they stress the goat and then they measure how much of vitamin c. It made and it made $10.00 to $20.00 times as much when it was under stress. So you're sitting there saying well I'm taking you know the recommended daily allowance of vitamin c. That keeps me from getting scurvy But is that enough for your body if you're having stress I don't think so. So then people say well you know you take those vitamins and you spend money on him and you just end up with expensive urine. And I look at him and I say I want expensive urine. I want so many nutrients bathing the cells of my body that there's extra that there overflowing and the only way to know if there's enough the only way to know if the cup is full is if it's overflowing so I don't mind expensive urine I think it's probably a good insurance policy. So. Checklist. And let me show of hands here to any of you you might want to consider vitamin minerals if you live a fast pace or stressful life anybody anybody stressful life a couple of you Ok you skip meals or eat irregularly anybody Ok true confessions here you eat fast foods or convenience foods no man you're dieting or restricting calories you fail to consume at least 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables daily and of course that number ought to be 10 now. You're pregnant or nursing any surprises Ok All right you are 40 years of age or older as a couple of years you smoke now is there any air pollution California I've heard rumors Ok you have a personal or family history of cancer heart disease diabetes or other degenerate illness now to any of you qualify for any of the things on this list Yeah I mean I think I think in this day and each It's really tough to get the nutrition that God designed for us to have just through food alone I do believe it's possible but I think it's a rare individual who's able to do that. Today we begin a new series about spiritual restoration based on the 1st 4 words of Psalm 233. He restores my soul we will learn just how important it is to listen to the Lord. Those who can't distinguish Jesus fois from competing voices in the world or even from their own can never be restored. As usual learning restoration really is voice activated and as the title declares that voice is totally packaged in the Bible to learn more here how is Dr Robinson with part 2 of the total package of restoration . Now let's go to some 23 and really think again about sheep don't forget shepherding yourself is not restoration of all animals on the face of the earth sheep are the most done in personal survival in fact if it were not for shepherds sheep would quickly become extinct you've heard a wild dogs wild horses wild pigs wild and a low but if you ever heard a wild sheep now you see sheep they don't know where to go sheep have no ability to defend themselves and they don't even have the stamina or in durance like other animals sheep self destruct on their own apart from the Greater Good Shepherd we are no better. As pathetic as sheep are they do have one superior quality cheap are noted for one great special quality you know what it is they know the voice of the shepherd they know the voice of the shepherd restoration to vitality depends on recognition of voice recognition restoration so this is a truth that God makes very clear in the Bible go to John chapter number 10 we have this on good authority it's from Jesus Christ they were looking at John chapter number 10 we have some mean spirited fault finding self-willed Jews which really proved that they were barking dogs not bleeding sheep on notice what he says Now Jesus answered them I told you and you believed not because you're not of my sheet as I said unto you my sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me and I give them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand and so they hear the voice of their shepherd sheep yes are stupid in self management but they are smart in voice recognition now we live in the United States of America with a plurality of voices we are touring listed society which means that we have a plurality of religions which all have their own voice not only are we a pluralistic society but also we are a relativistic society you remember what relativism is here is its definition relativism says that no one doctrine or moral code is absolute. In a worst case scenario in relativism everybody's right and moral codes are right religion is are right even though they may contradict each other and so now we have all of these voices and only one voice has the ring of authenticity and authority it is Jesus Christ. You know what I think Jesus can make his voice to be heard don't you I think there is a volume to his voice there is a melody to his voice and there is a fear that we have in disobeying that voice. This is very exciting to me I'm going to give to you all the avenues for the voice of Jesus you really should write these down if you're going to hear Jesus you're going to hear it through these avenues or you're not going to hear it at all 1st you will hear it in the Bible 2nd you will hear it in church 3rd you will hear it in prayer for it you will hear it in godly counsel 5th you will hear it in Providence and of none of those ways are working because you won't let them work there is one last avenue God will try it will be your conscience and eventually through sending you can see here your conscience literally gagged your conscience and now you have no way to hear God Now this is a very important truth the voice of Jesus is always strong always clear and always direct and remember he knows your name and yet our hearing can become distracted and dole. If you carelessly disregard and purposely disobey his voice the Bible says there is only one result from then go to Psalm $95.00. Some 956 says Oh Come let us worship and bowed down let us needle before the Lord our maker for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand to day if you will hear his voice harden not your heart as in the provocation what is the provocation when you won't listen to your shepherd nothing provokes the Lord to anger like you turning a deaf ear to him and so that is the beginning of all kinds of problems I would like to say this restoration is voice activated you want restoration to begin listen to God really deep down listen to God Remember when Jesus gave the 7 letters of the 7 churches in the Book of Revelation he said to those churches hear what the Spirit say at them to the churches you can sit there and not hear a word of it it's very easy to go in one ear and out the other to be daydreaming while I'm speaking or you could be trying to make up arguments against what I'm saying and the Lord says you need to hear what the Spirit is saying restoration begins its voice activated but remember this your destruction is also a voice activated the heart has switched to a different voice and it is now either listening to itself or listening to propaganda voices and sin hardens the heart if your hard hearted your hard of hearing too so there is a loss of hearing spiritual hearing that is so great that God must raise his voice What is God raising his voice you know what it is the Bible calls it chastisement God speaks through chastisement. And so if you can't hear the still small voice even the whispering in your heart God will raise his voice and so again hearing loss can become that great that even outward miracles and providences even combined with one's own history can't be heard in that way we just read that I am the Lord I create things out of nothing I can do anything and yet the voice of miracles the voice of Providence the force of their own history they didn't hear deafness to God is self-inflicted and self destructive what a thing to remember you see God wants to get us back to a whisper God is meant to scare people who think a shepherd likes to go up and scare sheep shepherds have an instinctive desire to comfort their sheep restoration begins today when hearing begins today now just to round up the package remember this is about God's restoration package I want to give you 3 things that really fill the box up and I just want you to write these down and you do your own study about this but you will not have restoration without these next 3 things number one love is the contract of restoration when you love the Lord with all your heart and soul and mind and body you just signed a contract for God to restore you if you want to go back and read 1st Corinthians chapter number 13 anybody who can do 1st Corinthians 13 is in a state of perpetual restoration. Number 2 Faith is the catalyst of restoration faith is the catalyst of restoration every phase of restoration is kicked off by faith or doesn't even get started it is the ignition switch of restoration if you don't have faith in your heart you can even begin the next phase you want to build up your faith go back to Heber's Chapter 11. And number 3 hope is the conviction of restoration. The hope of the world is oh I hope so I hope it all works out. Don't have a curse it is a sure thing it's a conviction take us on 3318 Take a look at Christian hold verse number 800 says Behold the aio of the board is upon them that fear Him upon them that what. Hold it is mercy. To give her some 22. Let Die mercy oh lord be upon us according as we hold in the. I hope you got a firm solid no soul hope. So love is the contract faiths catalyse hope is the conviction. Those are God's terms take it or leave it but nobody else can do what God can do. I want you to know my name Young way it was not known to them but I'm making it known to you and it has something to do with my covenant. You see. There are 3 things I'd like you to see in this little short section of scripture about understanding the name of the Lord in the midst of difficult times 1st of all it refers to his covenant that's clear from verse 4 I have also established. My covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan and the end of verse 5 I have remembered my covenant many people ask me what's the meaning of yah way we call it sometimes a touch or a Grom Aton which is a Greek word for 4 letters which they are in Hebrew and kind of pronounced with vowels ya way this wonderful name of God or what we what does it mean or one of the things is for sure is that a refers to the covenant of the Lord what covenant are we talking about here the Jews are in Egypt they're in bondage and the covenant he's referring to is that he said he would bless Abraham out of his seed the whole world would be blessed and especially He emphasized that is covenant was to give them a land a lot of us we haven't really fully appreciated that land was a covenant relationship between God and his people but that he has tells us God speaking this land is mine and I gave it to Abraham Isaac and Jacob and their descendants God gave that to them and it's his covered him now all through history we've had battles and wars over that land in Israel because of disobedience or idolatry or Morales he was driven out and but God brought them back God brought them back and did enough for over 1900 years of what looked like the death of a nation. And God brings it back to life exactly like he said What is this all teaching us it's teaching us that God will fulfill his word when he makes a promise he'll never go back on it his company did he will not break what does the name of God didn't mean to you and me well it has meant else should I it has been power but it also means that God will fulfill his word God will keep his promise God will never forsake the covenant he gave I think this spectacular turn to Psalm 105 please and look at verses 8 to 12. It says he has remembered his covenant for ever the word which he commanded to a 1000 generation which covenant he made with Abraham and his old son to Isaac and confirmed the same and to Jacob for a law and to Israel for an everlasting covenant What is this covenant personal of and saying on to the will I give the land of Canaan the lot of your inheritance when they were but a few min number a very few. And strangers in it you know or maybe you haven't fully understood even what you heard earlier why are some people so committed to that land I mean why don't they just all you know kind of work together and give it some of it up and you know will this in folks no matter what peace keeping process the world comes up with God is going to keep his covenant is going to keep his word now I'm not a popular speaker in some circles on this matter I want you to know and again I'm very stubborn on it and I admit it I'm very stubborn hopefully not problem but stubborn I believe this so strongly that I believe what God said to Abraham where the dimensions of the land are also true. By listening. According to Genesis 15 the land begins at the river Euphrates which is in Iraq. Now Syria belongs also to the descendants of Abraham Isaac and Jacob It goes clear to the river of Egypt. Yes Egypt will give back the Sinai it's only a question of time and I have had. Christian audiences absolutely upset over this. Like I'm causing problems I'm causing problems I'm just believing the Bible God said he was going to do it God's It is an everlasting covenant and he's going to do it now why are you and I having trouble in our life in many many situations why because the 2 reasons one we forget that he's a God of power News and anything too hard for him to do and number 2 we forget that he's going to keep his where he's never going to go back that what we start doing we start questioning we start doubting whether God will do what he said everything I am and believe in ever hope to be is all based on what God has promised and his were God said it he's going to do it and that's what it means when we say y'all way the Lord. It refers to his covenant is going to keep his word but go back to Exodus 6 or something else here it not only refers to his covenant when we're trying to understand his name but this name responds to the cries of his people I love that. You want to know what the name of God means ya way it means not only that he's keeping his covenant and his promises to us. But he always responds to the cries of his people I don't know any more beautiful or sweeter words that you can find in the Bible than an exodus 6 in the 1st part of verse 5 I have also heard the groaning of the children of this rebel go back to chapter 2 fleas and look at verse 24 And God heard their groaning and God remembered his was a covenant with Abraham Isaac Jacob they're not even in the right geographical location to down in Egypt I promise to give the land of Canaan I heard their cry I'll remember my cup of it I'm going to bring them to the land of Cain a good chapter 3 verse 7 and the Lord said I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters for I know their sorrows. Sometimes were crying. Whether Without were tears or with inward pain and I want everybody in this audience to know that the Lord hears your cries. The Bible says in solemn 34 that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all he hears the cries of his people maybe you are really hurting over something the Bible says the Lord yall way is near. To those who are broken hearted there isn't a tear you've ever shed there's not a pain in your heart you have ever held at the Lord does not see and know and here is and he desires to comfort you and he desires to deliver you and sometimes our pride and arrogance and our stubbornness is keeping us from knowing the joy of God's healing touch he's a wonderful Lord and He hears everything including your cries in The Great to know that's the character of God He's not a god that needs to be roused up or yelled out or screamed out or hey I need your attention where you work in China today rather than here no you don't need to do any of that the Lord hears everything and he knows your sorrows he identifies with your pain and he will comfort you and he's promised to deliver you his time his way you can trust him because he's ya way he keeps his word and he hears her cries he remembers his covenant He never forgets he always remembers his governor. Aren't you glad he's remembered unity doesn't forget. What a terrible thing would be of tomorrow and come to the Lord want to pray to Him and He says David who I don't remember him you know what a tragic take no he's all with his ears the Bible says are always open to our cries . May God help us never to forget it now we looked at the invitation of Moses to see what he will do in verse one and his identity the reveals what he will do vs 2 to 5 and then in verses 6 to 8 look at his instruction to Moses about what to say what's the theme here do what the Lord says. Now under this instruction and we're just going to take this portion of a pick it up here in our next time but I want you to see 3 things real simply here let's look at verses 6 to 81 more time it says we're 4 say into the Children of Israel I am the lord go back to verse 2 that's what he started off with he said I am the Lord now he's picking up again saying to the children of Israel I am the Lord and I will bring you out from under the burden of the Egyptians I will read you out of their bondage I will read game you with the stretched out on I'm emigrate judgements and I will take you to me for a people and I will be to you a God and He shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians and I will bring you unto the land concerning which I did swear to get to Abraham to Isaac and Jacob and I will give it to you for a heritage Ah and the Lord. Of the next time you say who is God Remember this passage I am the Lord here's what I will do I will do this I will do that I will do all of this I will to death and you will know that I am the Lord has a pretty powerful section of scripture 3 things 1st of all in verse 6 he mentions his complete redemption he uses 3 phrases here I will bring you out I will read you out and now redeem you now you can be brought out and still be in bondage so to speak it just changed geographical locations but he said I'm going to rid you out. I'm going to just take you completely out of bondage but it isn't just that I'm going to redeem you I'm going to set you free God can do that is complete redemption go to Deuteronomy Chapter 7 and look at verses $6.00 to $9.00. For the hour are the holy people under the Lord thy God the Lord thy God has chosen the to be a special people and to him self above all people are upon the face of the earth the Lord did not set his love upon you nor choose you because you were more in number than any people for you with the fewest of all people but because the Lord loved you because he would keep the oh so his covenant which he has sworn in your father's house the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand and what was this a reed deemed you out of the House of of a slavery a bondage from the hand of feral king of Egypt no Therefore what do I heard about God know therefore that the Lord thy God He is God the what kind of god. God who keep its coveted and mercy with them to love him and keep His commandments to a 1000 generations what are we going to learn when we learn about God redeeming as people out of Egypt we're going to learn that he is a faithful God he will do what he said I will bring you out I will read you of all that bondage and I will redeem you set you completely free the 2nd thing I notice in verses 6 to 8 is his continuing relationship to them it's one thing to bring completely demolition but God doesn't leave us to fend for ourself he will have a continuing relationship with us that's why verse 7 of Chapter 6 says I will take you to me for a people and I will be to you a god is there anything more wonderful than knowing as a songwriter said Now I belong to Jesus. And he belongs to me. You are his people the sheep of his pasture come and worship you belong to him. What a beautiful thing to tell them and 3rd I notice his coming revelation is going to be clear it says and you shall know verse 7 that I am the Lord your God to bring it to you out from under the birds of the Gyptian Zz and all that God does in all of his marvelous works and his ways what is he trying to accomplish he wants us to know him. If you ever wanted somebody to really know you. Have you ever wanted to really know somebody that's a part of being a person. God is a person he wants us to know him and he said I'm going to do all of this so that you will know that I am your God And one final thing in verse 8 look at his comforting reassurance in verse 8 I will bring you into the land concerning which I did swear to give it to Abraham to Isaac and Jacob and I'll give it to you for heritage I am the Lord he repeats it again God never stops bringing assurance to his people he knows are going to doubt it he knows the circumstances of their life will sometimes make them think it's never going to happen you member what Joseph said in Egypt Genesis 50 what he told them to do when I die and you guys get get out of here over they do. Take my bones up there it shows a new that even if he died God is still going to fulfill his word do you. Believe that that even if you go your whole life and never see any blessing and deliverance do you know that God still will ultimately fulfill his word even in your case he will deliver you. I was talking to a gentleman last weekend who was speaking of a family member that was dying and said to me why doesn't the Lord do something I said what you want to have done well I wanted to be healed I said how good of a healing Do you want well I don't know I usually so they could you know enjoy life. Well how about really heal them I mean so perfectly that they would never be sick again he said well I yeah Ok I don't know the Gaza do that but yeah that sounds good to me I said you know how God can do that he said how. Well your loved one dying is that what you say. You know it's like you have the gift of comfort of what you know I said well look if your loved one you said she was dying right yeah well if he dies as a kind of body present in the Lord and it is presence it's fullness of joy that is right in their place that's what I call redemption we're talking instant healing never sick anymore no more suffering anymore no more pain anymore no more death any more oh oh you are troubled by that oh in other words you're not quite sure that's going to happen interesting isn't it folks that when we're pressured individuals to believe something often a crisis will come a serious situation we've got to ask ourselves why I believe this do I believe the Lord's purpose in all of this is to prove to me that he's God that he will keep his word and if I never see it in my life like Job said though he's still a me I'll trust him I don't care when and where God is going to fulfill his word he's going to do it and I can count on it and he began a good work in me will perform it under the De Jesus Christ. No matter what happens in between he's going to accomplish his work you can trust to.
