Captain Yaphet Miller passed away last night. He suffered a traumatic injury after bravely battling a threealarm fire two weeks ago. 8 news now reporter Shakala Alvaranga is live in the newsroom with more. Shakala . Shakala Alvaranga dave, Yaphet Miller was only 43 years old. He served with the North Las VegasFire Department for 22 years. Miller passed away last night with his wife nickey by his side. Fire Officials Say miller was september 23rd before his medical emergency. The fire destroyed several businesses near rancho drive and washington boulevard. More than 70 firefighters responded to that fire after strong winds picked up. Millers brothers and sisters at the North Las VegasFire Department remembered him as a dear friend. Who will be missed immeasurably. captain miller was very intelligent. He was very funny. He was a positive motivator and he. He made a difference. This department. One of its best. one of the most successful rescues the organization has ever had. Was led by captain miller when he saved a toddler in a fire eight years ago.
