Fatal shooting of a woman in her own her home in northeast las vegas. This all started very early this morning. And tonight police are still on the scene of this incident. 8 news now reporter Patranya Bhoolsuwan is live near craig and nellis with the latest on this developing story. Patranya Bhoolsuwan we just talked to Metro Sergeant jeff clark just a short time ago. He confirmed that metro swat officers shot and killed a woman in a home right across the street from us here on the 45hundred block aviation street. This after she threatened not to just take her own life, but that of the officers on the scene. With the use of not just one but two separate weapons. This apparently all started around 6 oclock this morning when the womans friend from out of state called metro. Asking police to go check on her. This after she saw a video of that woman trying to kill herself by overdosing on pills. When police got there, she initially did not respond. But after a few hours, the woman came out and threatened police a Crisis Negotiation Team arrived a short time later, and thats when the woman came out with a shotgun and tried to shoot herself but failed. Police say she then pointed the shotgun at officers on scene and thats when she was shot and killed by authorities. Police say it was clear through conversations with her. That this was a case of suicide by cop sgt. Jeff clark she stated to the Crisis Negotiation Team that she wanted to get into gunfight with the officers and that she will point gun at them and make them shoot her. Patranya Bhoolsuwan a local psychiatric clinic apparently also made contact with police earlier today after seeing that same video of her trying to overdose herself on pills. No word yet if she was a patient there. Or where the video was posted. Patranya Bhoolsuwan the names of the Police Officers involved in this shooting will be released later this week. The victim.
