Thats when the confrontation ended in gunfire, leaving neighbors shaken up. yanel mercado saw excouple fighting i just heard the loud screaming from the front of our house. karen castro yanel mercado lives across from the woman who police say was fighting over custody with the night. Mercado says the argument spilled over to the parking lot. yanel mercado saw couple fighting she was really mad, really upset, really loud and she was asking for her keys back. karen castro mercado recalls hearing the woman go back into her apartment while talking on the phone about the fight she was having with her ex boyfriend. She says she saw the woman go outside once again where they continued to argue. When suddenly another man drove up and got involved. yanel mercado saw couple fighting then i heard the gunshot and i was like, i karen castro other neighbors also heard a single gunshot. Cheyenne Osburn heard gunshot even my boyfriend this morning said we heard a gunshot last night and somebody lost their life. Karen Castro Metro police say the driver pulled out a small Assault Rifle from his car before fatally shooting the father. The suspect was last seen taking off in a darkcolored sports car, possibly a dodge challenger. Investigators say the excouples child was inside a car at the time of the shooting but was not injured. byron bullie saw deadly shooting investigation its very shocking because its like, i got kids too so you know what i me but now, now i know why. karen Castro Police are not saying if the shooter knows the man and woman. Or if he may live at the same apartment complex. They were also called out on report of a shooting at an apartment complex near the intersection of south rainbow boulevard and robindale road. Thats where police say a man exited his apartment. Telling them hed shot his son. Inside, they found a man in his 20s shot dead. The father was taken into custody and is reportedly cooperating with the investigation. The destruction of hundreds of homes and buildings. And dozens of injuries. The flames forced the evacuation of more than 14thousand people from the Great Smoky Mountains tourist city of gatlinburg. More than 400 emergency workers from multiple departments are working on extinguishing the flames and clearing debris many of them at it since monday night. There is a bit of light at the end of the tunnell. In the form of rain thats expected to fall throughout the night in the area. meanwhile, folks in other parts of tennessee and alabama are dealing with a Natural Disaster of their own. Severe weather that struck early this morning has claimed the lives of at least five people there. Dozens more have been hospitalized. Officials say a tornado ripped through the town of rosalie, alabama early this morning. The tornado was to blame for three of the deaths. Neighborhood by neighborhood temps in the 50s and milder for the east part of the valley where were lower in elevation. While areas to the far west colder and just below freezing this morning and only low 50s this afternoon. Regional temps also stayed colder for the southern great basin and of course searchlight. Cold in the 50s also for mesquite down the Colorado River valley to laughlin and death valley where they were milder, but still chilly for this time of year. Satellite and radar show some high clouds pushing through but still staying mostly clear. Snow in the north part of the stay near ely and elko again along next trough digs deep in utah and brings another shot of colder air and breezes heading into your weekend.
