Today county commissioners discussed the idea of closing off part of las vegas boulevard to traffic and turning it into a pedestrian mall. Similar to bourbon street in new orleans and times square in new york. But strip properties are against the idea. A different proposal is to build more pedestrian bridges. Instead, they will move forward with the process of building two new bridges over las vegas boulevard. One would go between the bellagio and paris. The other just north of the mgm grand. Together, the bridges, that will include elevators and escalators, will cost about 15 million dollars.
