A man was shot and killed early this morning in an historic part of oakland just blocks from police headquarters. Reporter this is oaklands 17th homicide of the year and police are still looking for two possible suspects in this case. Now officers found the victims aston martin right here and the victim in that intersection. I dont think you get any closer to the Police Station in oakland to me. Reporter this man is referring to the proximity of this mornings shooting on ninth and clay. Its just a block away from Oakland Police headquarters. One man died. It sounded like guns. Reporter sure enough moments later Police Arrived to find a 37yearold San Francisco man with fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators marked a dozen gunshots. Trans families owns a vietnamese restaurant. He says he has only noticed more robberies in the area but earlier this month, police investigated a murder a few blocks away. Daly city police are trying to determine what caused a Traffic Accident last night that left three people dead. The crash happened on east moore avenue near gilman drive just after 8 00. The driver of a blue sedan broadsided the victims car. Three of them were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth person in the car was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the blue sedan was not injured. A hitandrun crash in oakland sent several people to the hospital. Firefighters managed to free two of the victims who were trapped inside a mini van. It happened late last night on 29th avenue near the interstate 880 onramp. Witnesses said a speeding car rounded a corner too fast and slammed into the stopped mini van. Three people inside the mini van suffered nonlife threatening injuries. Three people in the suspects car ran from the scene. The Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a person who was struck and killed on interstate 680 in fremont this morning. It happened on the northbound side near the washington boulevard off ramp just after midnight. Police say the driver stopped, called 911 and was not arrested. But part of the freeway was shut down during the investigation. Theres no word yet on why the victim may have been on the highway. The family of a missing woman from the east bay is holding out hope tonight that someone will come forward with information leading to her safe return. The california Big Cat Sanctuary where a woman was killed by an african lion last week reopened to the public today. Visitors walked the grounds of cat haven in dunlap. Officials say that a 4yearold lion somehow escaped its cage and killed hanson. Her mother wrote an open letter saying that her daughter would have wished for the sanctuary to reopen and continue their work. I know diana would like that for us.
