Toys r us stays open until 9 00 tonight. And we saw some dedicated shoppers getting ready to make the rounds. Reporter at this point, investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved. One of the suspects was treated at a local hospital for moderate injuries. Im thinking of some young kids getting busy, and personally, thats what they do. Theres no respect for nothing. Reporter at this point, police are not releasing anymore details about the suspects except to say they will be charged with having a speed contest, which carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail. Four suspects are in custody suspected of robbing at least eight people at gun point yesterday. Investigators say starting at 4 00 yesterday afternoon, two male and two female suspects targeted people from all over the city. We had the only camera there for the arrest. Police say one of the victims was an 11yearold girl. Fortunately none of the people robbed was hurt. Police tell us at least two of the suspects are juveniles. Employees and customers of a Convenience Store in oakland says the Justice System has repeatedly failed to protect them from a man with a long history of violence and harassment. Customers outside the santa market on telegraph avenue say they have been the target of aggressive panhandling, drunken threats, and violence against this man. The reverend at the church across the street knows pitman. Hes a wonderful person when hes himself. But when hes not himself, hes very disruptive, continues to come around even if you ask him not to. The market took out a restraining order order against him two years ago. Since then, hes been arrested for violating the order 21 times. Most recently, this past monday. Continuing coverage now ever the case sparking emotions across the nation. The family learned oaklands Childrens Hospital does not need to keep her on a ventilator after december 30th. The judge and ruling today on continued life support has left the teens loved ones with a lot of uncertainty. Reporter the family expressed mixed emotions outside the courthouse. Their daughter will remain on life support for another week, but there is still uncertainty about what happens after that. I dont know where my little buddy is going to be this spring. Reporter als an Appellate Court intervenes, Childrens Hospital is no longer obligated to keep her on life support. She went to Childrens Hospital on december 9th to have her tonsils removed. She suffered serious complications after the surgery and was declared brain dead three days later. Yesterday, a doctor from stanford hospital did another independent evaluation of her and reached the same conclusion. They have made that determination under accepted medical practice. And theres no relief that the court can grant you. Its heartbreaking to hear that, of course. But our faith is still strong. Its Christmas Eve. Theres still time for a miracle. Reporter her family still holds out hope that her daughter will somehow be revived. And they will be spending the next week looking for longterm care facilities to take her in. This is paramount moving forward for other parents to understand that they do have rights. Just the rights to know that youre entitled to second and third opinions. Reporter the family doesnt know yet if theyre going to appeal the judges ruling. They say for now, theyre just looking forward to spending christmas with her at her bedside. The Obama Administration is offering another reprieve. A post on the site says that people who have technical problems meeting tonights deadline can contact the Obamacare Center and ask for people get help getting coverage. They may still be able to sign up for a policy by january 1st. California is not one of the 36 stays covered by the website.
