pictures, this is confirming outside of at&t park outside of san francisco. we want to show you live pictures here. they want to do this as a precaution here just to make sure everybody feels safe. >> in boston again, before the suspect was arrested they also cancelled it had red sox game tonight and the boston bruins game today. really pictures all of san francisco oakland and berkeley all being on locked down. that was essentially what it was like for hours every since last night up about 3:00 this afternoon, that was what it was like for people there at boston area >> once again outside at&t park in san francisco, the giants getting ready to play tonight. coming to tonight's game to get there early, they're going through a long security check point here. they're using waunds to check the fans as they go in. they want to do everything they can to make sure the people stay safe. >> we are also told that there is going to be a moment of silence tonight for the victims of the boston marathon bombing and also as you know the 26-year-old mit security officer shot literally last night which set off this whole train of events which led to the death of one of the suspects and the capture of the other suspect. also, a moment of silence to remember the little boy martinez who was seriously injured. aaron is recovering, we are told that there is some good news what doctor were able to do to patch him up. they have been able to completely close that wound. he was hit from one of those bombs. the bombers, stuffed the pressure cooker full of nails basically things to just rip flesh apart and causes much damage as possible. as we saw those bombs caused a lot of damages. >> it's been an incredible active scene for the past 24-hour, a scene that paralyzed the town of boston and the community of watertown. it's been an incredible week that people will never forget. again, accommodating this afternoon late at 5:45 with the arrest of the second suspect and when the arrest happened people coming out and literally cheering on the streets. news immediate y having to stay back and pushed back all day and crouching down with law enforcement as their guns were drawn. very intense going house by house to search the suspect. as you see people out here on the streets, feeling released that the suspect suspect has been captured. . >> starting last night with the police chase, there were 200 shot fires from the suspect. the suspect were throwing homemade explosives out of their car as the police were chasing him. i listened to one interview from the gentleman from the home near the shoot out, he says that he and his family were terrified. he kept on praying, he and his family, and wife and the dog all left into the bathroom and jumped into the bathtub. they kept their heads down and praying. now, here is president obama. >> after a vicious attack on their setting. they did their part as citizens and partner in this investigation. boston police and state police and local police across the commonweal massachusetts responded with bravery. tonight, we close an important chapter in this. after the attack on monday, i directed the full resources of federal government to be made available to help save authorities and the investigation and to increase security as needed. over the past week, close coordination among the federal states sharing information and moving swiftly and track down leads have been critical as ever. they all worked as they should as a team and we are extremely grateful full for that to all our out standing law enforcement officials. these men and women get up everyday and put on that uniform and risk their lives to keep us safe. our thoughts with those with those that's wounded in pursuit of the suspect and we pray for their full recovery. the collier family who grieved the lost of their son and brother shawn. he was just 26-year-old and as his family has said he died bravely in the line of duty doing what he committed his life to doing, serving and protecting others. so we are grateful to him. obviously, tonight there are among unanswered questions. how did they plan to carry out the attacks and did they receive any help? >> reporter: well , right now we have made it up to franklin street. this is the yellow cape that's keeping us from the house where the boat and the yard is being processed. fbi in charged of the scene, you can see them working on -- processing this entire crime scene. you can see already folks who have been waiting returning to their homes are out thanking the officers who are leaving. i am going to get out of the way. >> [ applause ] >> so a lot of celebrations still here but a lot of work still to be done here at this crime scene, at the primary crime scene, we had a chance to speak with a c who over looked this crime scene. they said about 60 shots went off, they said it was the most frighten things they have heard. i think we have the tape ready from the neighbors that heard the whole thing. >> i don't know why they were shooting in the boat. >> if i had to guess where they're shooting at, i would say i coming from the empty lot. i don't know if he was in the boat trying to get out and that's when they spotted him. >> a lot of the details is still being worked out as to how they caught the suspect exactly what led up to the shoot out but a lot of people said a lot of frighten hours here in this neighbor, they have returned to the scene to watch fbi to process this area. from what we understand there is no other -- they would not allow us to have this kind of access to the neighborh reporting live in watertown ktvu. >> we understand that some new videos have surfaced online. >> what appeared to be a sound of the gun shot. the big one happened about 5:45 tonight. suspect number 2 was in custody and it came just like patti just mentioned erupted in one house in a town neighborhood. this video is posted on youtube within the last hour after those shots were fired. they took the 19-year-old suspect in custody and crowds were lining in the street cheering. he's listed in se conditions according to police. just four hours ago police came out and held another press conference hey, we are drawn back the tactical team, we just cannot find suspect number 2 but then 30 minutes after that shots were fired and officers swarmed around the house and a boat found on the property. at the time the sun set back east, the 19-year-old was surrounded by swaut and the law enforcement were very -- number of explosion were heard. as officials tell the store rishgs it was a watertown resident who gave the final tip to police. >> he then opened the tar on the top of the boat and he looked in and saw me and covered with blood, he retrieved and called us. we set a perimeter around that boat and over the course of the next hour or so, we exchanged gunfire with the suspect who was inside the boat and ultimately, the hostage -- removed the suspect who was still alive in the boat. >> and not long after that, boston police announced via twitter the hunt is over and the search is done and justice has the suspect in custody. here we are tonight, all eyes on watertown. suspect number 2 in custody. live in the live room ktvu channel 2 news. >> continues with our live coverage, eric. >> reporter: it was yesterday afternoon as wa first look at dzhokhar tsarnaev as only known as suspect 2 as mike mentioned. in fact, 5:20 in boston, fbi released the images of the brothers. of course, five hours later in cambridge reports of shot fired and shawn collier was found dead in his car. at some point the suspect released the owner unharmed. police of course, we are on the track of that suv, it took them into watertown and about 1 a.m. eastern people will reported hearing gun shot and even an explosion, in that exchange with authorities the black hat suspect number 1, the older brother was killed. his younger brother who was referred to suspect 2 at the time who was originally in the white hat somehow got away. as the man hut iified this morning -- essentially putting everyone on lock down, authorities went from doors to doors with no luck and finally late this afternoon, the shelter in place order order was lifted. there was a blow and all of a sudden this latest incident broke out in watertown again and then 2 and a half hours so ago, boston police confirmed they finally had their man. >> more coverage coming up as you see some of the frantic moments this afternoon as police surrounded a boat inside suspect number 2 who is now in police custody and is in serious conditions. >> well a 5-day manhunt came to an end today of the sound of cheers of the residents of watertown. that was the reaction tonight as the people of watertown celebrated the capture of the second suspect in the boston bombing. >> we put together a plan here to show -- to show you how we got up to tonight's arrest. >> thousands of people were there got the surprise of their lives when the explosion happened just before noon of the time. >> we are all trying to put pressure on the wounds for everybody, of whatever that we can do, it was chaos >> you are mad because of why?
