Airlines established lines of communications for family members to find their loved ones at hospitals. The bay area Water District is calling for customers to start conserving. Tonight the Santa Clara County Water District improved a 10 cut in water use. Anne rubin is in san jose and tell us that threshold is just a goal and to get to that threshold is still in the air tonight, ann. Reporter its actually drizzling right now but not to impact water levels. Before we start seeing change, those changes will have to be voluntary. At the nursery theyre seeing a shift to what they call water wise gardening. Using plants that drink less. Its more of an awareness now. Theres more people talking about it. Reporter the Water District is hoping to encourage that even more. They are considering doubling the rebate they offer from such a switch from 3 to 4 a square foot. They include the Santa Clara Valley Water District and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Service area. Theyre both asking customers to cut water use by 10 . Customers are being asked to cut 20 in the Alameda County Water District and in the zone seven Water District which includes dublin, livermore and pleasanton. Before their midnight shifts began, one by one Hayward Police cars stream into the chapel parking lot so officers could pay their respects to a fallen brother. The flag outside the chapel was lowered to half staff. Smith was shot and killed after michael mays performed a probation search. Today calfire announced that its fired 125 seasonal firefighters to work statewide. Some 300 seasonal firefighters were never released from duty in Southern California because the fire season didnt really end. But yesterday the landlord got what appeared to be a new Compliance Order telling him medimarts is a public nuisance. I got the letter and read the penalties for allowing him to stay here which was 2,500 per day after february 15th. I was a little in shock. He says hes relieved that his neighbor is expected to survive but says hes worried about crime in the neighborhood.
