Police recently confirmed that projectile was a bean bag fired by an Oakland Police officer. The board of trustees at city college is making the Big Decisions as it tries to climb out of a budget crisis. Reporter the marathon board of Trustees Meeting is still going on right now. At stake really is the financial history of city college of San Francisco. For the more than 90,000 students and employees at city college of San Francisco theres a lot at stake. The financial picture here is so bleak the college is in danger of losing its accreditation, being taken over by the state. Possibly even forced to shut down. Were in a severe financial situation. Reporter against this backdrop the board of trustees is expected to approve a series of budget cuts to help close the 16 million shortfall and fix certain operating deficiency mandated by the accreditation commission. The vast majority is getting teachers back to teach in the classrooms. This is something thats being done without consultation that there has been no transparency about how the plan has been put together and the impacts look tremendous. Reporter but the college says that move alone can save 2 million a year. The trustees also plan on closing at least five satellite sites around San Francisco and a preschool in vernal heights which the college used at its Child Development curriculum.
