Law enforcement sources say that she went with her husband to buy ammo prior to the attack. And had recently gone to the pulse nightclub with him at least once. Abc news has learned she has allegedly suggested to the fbi that she tried to talk her husband out of harming anyone, but its unclear whether she knew or believed an attack was immeant. The defense arguing that injury was a catastrophic event and gray stopped breathing within seconds, sometime after the vans fifth stop. Goodson faced testimony from his colleague porter whose own trial ended up in a mistrial. Police say the boy an his family were on vacation at disney world playing on the edge of the water when the alligator suddenly came up on to the shore and snatched the boy. The father tried holding on to the child, actually went into the water to try to get him, but the alligator was just too powerful. There was an all out effort taking place overnight. Were told as many as 50 crew members are scouring that lake right now, looking for that boy. And this was an amazing effort by the parents. Apparently the mom and the dad got into the water. The dad tried to wrestle that child away from that alligator. And the gator obviously too powerful but then they went and got a lifeguard to try to help as well and now a desperate search underway trying to find the gator. The boy. No one has seen any sign of the child since then and apparently vacationing from nebraska with three children. The whole family there on vacation when this horrible incident happened. Of course were going to keep on top of this throughout the night but once again orlando is the scene of another heart wrenching story. Unbelievable. Moving on to the new developments in the investigation of the orlando nightclub massacre. Now the gunmans wife is now under scrutiny. Take a look. Thats her with the hoodie on. Its unclear where she is right now but Officials Say she could Face Criminal Charges in connection with the attack. Were told that she may have known something about sunday mornings violence but she claims that she tried to talk her husband out of his assault. In this video and photos obtained exclusively by daily mail. Com we can see fbi agents visiting the home of the gunmans inlaws. The house is 40 minutes north of San Francisco. Its believed the shooters motherinlaw and one of her daughters lives in that house. The agents were there yesterday for more than an hour. In orlando another emotional gathering to remember the attack victims. More than 2,500 people brought their hands together praying last night at orlandos First Baptist church. A bell chimed as each of the 49 victims names were read allowed. Abcs Marci Gonzalez is in orlando with more on this and she joins us now. Good morning, marci. Whats the latest we have on this . Reporter good morning. It really was another emotional night. That was one of several vigils held last night here in orlando to honor the victims. Reporter praying for the 49 People Killed and the dozens of others injured. Many still hospitalized. Some bravely sharing their haunting memories of the massacre. He is shooting everyone thats already dead on the floor making sure theyre dead. Reporter and talking about the lingering pain, radiating beyond their gunshot wounds. The guilt of feeling lucky to be alive. Reporter and now new insight into the planning of the massacre. The killers wife noor salman now possibly facing charges. Law enforcement sources say she went with her husband to buy ammo and visited Pulse Night Club with him. While its unclear whether she knew what omar mateen was planning, salman suggested to investigators that she did try to talk her husband out of harming anyone. Though its still not clear if she is just saying that to avoid incriminating herself. Investigators say they still have not decided whether she will face charges. Kendis and diane . Marci, what do we know about Funeral Services for the victims at this point . Reporter we dont have any specifics just yet, but we do know that the remains of 20 of the victims have now been transferred to funeral homes. The medical Examiners Office says they expect to complete the autopsies of the other victims by this morning. Were hearing all of these stories by churches and Funeral Directors and florists offering their services to the families for these funerals for free. Marci, it was clearly another emotional night there in orlando understandably and i was noticing that you tweeted out a photo that was touching. Tell us what was happening in this scene right here. Reporter yeah. It was just a few blocks away from the scene here outside of the hospital where the victims are being treated this morning. I noticed this little boy just crouching down in front of that memorial there. He really just seemed to be taking it all in. It was a really touching moment and then his mother called him over and they stood there, the whole Family Holding hands. Looking at all the flowers and the notes that were left behind and they stood there for a few minutes praying together so it was such a touching moment. Really underscoring that this entire community is still grieving and it shows that parents are still trying to find ways to explain this tragedy to their children. Absolutely. Well investigators are also looking into what could be considered the gunmans secret life. Mounting evidence is raising questions about his sexuality. Abcs brian ross has that part of the story. Reporter its music. Its dance floor. Its welcoming vibe made the Pulse Night Club a huge draw for floridas gay community. And employees and patrons say one of its regulars was omar mateen. James van horn said he saw the killer there many times. Its not like he just sat there and stared at people. He was an active person that tried to, you know, find somebody maybe to go to bed with that night. Reporter witnesses told fbi agents that mateen posted pictures of himself on gay dating apps and what appears to be the secret life of mateen is a central focus of the fbi investigation into the motive behind the terror attack. This gentleman who also saw mateen at pulse said he talked about having a wife and a schield. I know the struggle of him with his wife and stuff and his family didnt know that he was gay but hes been doing this, coming to these clubs for years and years and years. Reporter mateens exwife told abc news that he told her he often frequented nightclubs without saying they were gay clubs. Do i think he was gay . Reporter she struggled with my question. I at this point, i think he might have been. Maybe he wasnt able to be honest about it at all to anybody because of the family and the culture he is from. Reporter mateens interest in gay men goes back at least ten years. According to a former classmate in a 2006 Law EnforcementTraining Course that didnt want his face shown. He asked me if i was gay and because i wasnt out at the time i told him no im not. And he said if you were gay, you would definitely be my type of guy. While theres no evidence that isis directed the plot against the nightclub, it continues to praise omar mateen for what he did. We begin with breaking news from florida where emergency crews are conducting an all out search for a 2yearold boy dragged into a lake by an alligator. The boy and his family were on vacation from nebraska staying at a disney world resort. They had been playing near the waters edge near the grand Floridian Hotel when the alligator suddenly snatched that boy. As a father, as a grandfather, were going to hope for the best in these circumstances, but based upon my 35 years of Law Enforcement experience, we know that we have some challenges ahead of us at this time. The sheriff also said the boys father tried desperately to grab that child. Even going into the water and struggling with the gator itself but the gators grip on the child apparently just too strong. He also adds that search teams are not leaving until they find that little boy. And it was quite a scene there. It happened around 9 30 in the evening there in orlando, florida. Were told that the mom also ran into the water, as you can understand any parent would try to get her child away from that gator as well. The dad wrestled the gator and does have a few scratches on his hands. That he received while trying to get to the gators mouth. They were vacationing from nebraska with three children. They tried to grab life guards nearby to try to help, too, but it all apparently happened so quickly and that gator clearly incredibly powerful. Overnight crews were told up to 50 are on the scene there with helicopters and spotlights looking down as well as boaters are there and alligator trappers as well on the scene there desperately trying to search for this young child, but as you heard from the sheriff there, it doesnt bode well at all. Unbelievable. Yet another tragedy. Third time in orlando in less than a week theres been tragedy. Well turn to the other one, the really huge story that took place over the weekend. The Orlando Night Club massacre. 27 of those wounded in sunday mornings attack are still in the hospital. Six of those patients in critical condition. At least 20 bodies have now been released to a funeral home and the shooters wife is being considered for criminal charges as well. Take a look right now im going to show you thats her apparently. The shooters wife wearing that hoodie. A Law Enforcement official tells abc news she may have known something about sunday mornings violence. She claims she tried to talk her husband out of his assault and sources say she was with her husband when he recently bought ammunition as well as a holster. And president obama unleashed a new attack against donald trump for his comments in the wake of that attack. The president strongly rejected trumps call to label the massacre radical islamic terrorism and well hear from the president on why coming up. It should be quite a scene in orlando tomorrow because the president will be there. In addition to his comments yesterday, weve also been hearing from survivors of the attack. Abcs juju chang visited with some of them. Reporter what did he look like to you when you went face to face with the killer . He looked like deranged. He looked deranged. He looked like something was mentally wrong with him. Reporter the night started out like most nights at pulse in orlando. Dancing, latin music blasting, close to 300 inside. 20yearold tiara parker was there on vacation with her 18yearold cousin akyra and her best friend patience. Three straight girls at a gay night club. Yeah. It was really fun. They loved us from the time we walked in the door. We felt at home and we were comfortable. We were having so much fun. We thought this is going to be the kick off to the rest of the week. Reporter but just as they ordered their uber car to leave, shots rang out. I was nervous. I didnt know what was going on. Reporter in the confusion, the friends are split up. Patience and akyra make it out. From the hospital patience remembering what happened next. I said we have to get tiara. Running back they find tiara and more than a dozen others but now theyre cornered trying to hide from the gunman inside the back bathroom. So the gunman came in and you hear him trying to load the gun. Were all scrambling around in the bathroom screaming at the top of our lungs. Reporter for three torcherous hours they were trapped in the bathroom by the gunman. Thats when i realized my leg was shot. Reporter so the bullet went in there . Yeah it went in there and came out my bath. Reporter akyra tried to negotiate with the killer. She was talking to the killer . Yeah. Reporter what was she saying . Please leave us alone. We were hurt. Akyra was shot in her arm right here. I dropped to the floor because i feel the pain. I started to feel the pain. Reporter and you laid on top of your cousins arm because you wanted to stop the bleeding. Yeah. I took it over and looked. He thought i died with my eyes open. I kind of kept staring at him. From then i thought in my mind that he was going to shoot me in my face. The gunman had stopped shooting for a while. He made a call to 911 saying that the reason why hes doing this is because he wants america to stop bombing his country. He pledged his allegiance to isis. The shooter came into the stall with us. We could no longer hold the door. Reporter the shooter got in the stall with you . Yeah. It didnt lock. Thats why we had to hold it. Reporter she watched as police and the shooter exchanged heavy gunfire. They killed him. I watched him die. Reporter you watched the killer die . Yeah, i could see him. Reporter but akyra was lying lifeless on the floor. I grab her hand and i feel her try to grab me back. So im like, okay, shes still alive. Please help me get her. Please, get her, get her, get her. Theyre like, we have to get you first. We have to get you first then we can get you. Reporter the s. W. A. T. Team pulled them out. Patience was shot in both legs. They spent the next day and a half in the dark until news came that akyra did not survive. Shes a hero. She came back looking for me. To make sure that i was going to get out with them. Theyre getting ready to open some of the roads around Pulse Night Club, but you can see the area right around the club itself as the scene is still blocked off. Theyre still collecting evidence there. Weve also learned that the fbi has now been able to access omar mateens cell phone, so theyre going through that. Trying to figure out who hes been in contact with, where he traveled leading up to this massacre. And then a big part of the investigation is now focussed on his wife, theyre learning that, according to Law Enforcement sources, that she went with him to purchase the ammo and the holster and that together they visited pulse fairly recently, at least once. So now investigators are trying to figure out if his wife knew about the plans. She allegedly suggested that she tried to talk him out of the harming anyone. At this point its still unclear if she will face any charges. Kendis and diane . We are learning a lot of new details about his secret life. Whats the latest with that . Reporter yeah. We are hearing more and more accounts that he may have been gay. Were told that he was a regular at gay nightclubs, including pulse. And the people weve spoken to who said this say he wasnt just here as a silent observer, he was here actively pursuing men. Were also hearing stories of him reaching out to men using gay dating apps. Stories like this go back as far as ten years were hearing from people. Thats something that the fbi is looking into as they try to figure out the motive.
