M. , Police Respond to the shooting at a gray pound bus station on north boulevard in the city of richmo richmond. All units be advised. We have an active shooting. Reporter passengers panicked. I just heard pops. And ive never actually heard a real gunshot before so i didnt really know what was going on. And then i just saw everyone ducking. The male subject pulled out a handgun and shot chad multiple times. The male subject continued firing his weapon as two other state Police Troopers return fire. Reporter the gunman was shot dead. While he was talking to this individual, the individual pulled out a gun and shot the trooper. All units be advised. We have an active shooting. Reporter two other troopers returned the gunmans fire. Passengers flee the terminal as ambulance crews arrive at the still kay chaotic scene. Going to be mass casualties. Reporter the trooper who approached the gunman was shot at close range. The bus was carrying members of a High School Track team in jasper county. Investigators say the right tires of the bus went off the pavement and then the driver overcorrected, sending the bus into the ditch. It rolled over several times before stopping. At least three twisters touched down last night in mississippi and alabama in an area straddling the border. One caused extensive damage to homes and businesses near mississippi. Homes and businesses there as well in about a square mile of a mostly residential area had damage. A large tree fell on a popular wedding venue. The owner says its probably a total loss.
