Many bayous here in houston near or over the tops of their banks, and lowlying roads and highways shut down because of high water. Cars like those two back there getting wallowed by all this rain. This man searching for his submerged car getting stuck when the water was calf deep. I watched my car slowly disappear. Reporter trying to attach a chain so the tow truck could pull it out ultimately giving up. Outside houston, this funnel cloud antoine reported tornadoes. I look out the window and all you saw was a whirlwind of trash. Reporter winds toppling fences. In galveston, winds gusting over 50 miles an hour, waves ten feet high causing this tanker to run aground. The rain not moving all that fast. Low around lake charles, louisiana. Will scoot across the basin as weve got wind and flood advisories. That gives you an idea of the scope of the system. The timing is such that some of the heavier rains will be in eastern louisiana and mobile, alabama, to extend all the way into the florida panhandle. Theyll pile up from new orleans to say pensacola.
