We begin with that shakeup in the 2016 race, a brandnew poll coming in overnight from the critical state of iowa. Showing senator Bernie Sanders closing in on Hillary Clinton. While on the republican side, donald trump is still soaring. Its your voice, your vote, and lets take a look at those numbers. Among republicans, trump leads, followed by another outsider, dr. Ben carson, then nobody else breaks double digits. Ted cruz and scott walker are tied for third. But trailing far behind trump. The Biggest Surprise is among democrats, clintons lead, now, down to single digits, just seven points ahead of sanders. Its the first time shes dropped below 50 in the Des Moines Register bloomberg poll this year. Were taking on every twist and turn in the 2016 race this morning and Bernie Sanders is standing by live to weigh in. First, abcs jon karl on the dramatic difference between the leading candidates right now. Reporter its the tale of two frontrunners. For one, the best of times. For the other, well, its not the worst, its getting there. The republican establishment fretting their frontrunner is too strong could actually win. Democratic establishment fretting theirs is still weak and could lose. As Hillary Clinton has a Comfortable Lead in national polls, shes already trailing a 73yearold selfdescribed socialist in New Hampshire and now Bernie Sanders is surging in iowa as well. Despite yet another mea culpa over her home email server. I should have used two emails, one personal and one for work, and i take responsibility for that decision. Reporter doubts over her email account still under investigation by the fbi are taking a toll. 61 of voters now say shes untrustworthy. While some democrats are urging Vice President biden to jump in, handing out these candy bars at this weeks dnc meeting. Trump, meanwhile, is having the time of his life, riding high in the early states, riding high nationally. Seemingly riding high everywhere. Top republicans worry hes alienating key voting groups. Jeb bush even making his own trip to the border to trash trumps plan to deport undocumented immigrants. His proposal is unrealistic, it will cost hundreds of billions of dollars. It will violate peoples civil liberties. Reporter but perhaps the biggest attack on the frontrunners come are not from their supporters but the voters. First words to come to mind about each of them. For Hillary Clinton liar, dishonest, untrustworthy. For donald trump, arrogant, blowhard. So much for Great Expectations for either frontrunner. For this week, jonathan karl, abc news, washington. Our thanks to jon. Lets go straight to senator Bernie Sanders. Senator, good morning. You saw those new poll numbers, is Hillary Clintons campaign in trouble . Well, i dont know if her campaign is in trouble, but our campaign is doing great. Its not just in iowa, its in New Hampshire, i think people are responding to our message that something is wrong when the middle class of this country continues to disappear, people are working longer hours for low wages, and almost all of the new wealth and income is going to the top 1 , thats not the type of country, not the type of economy that the American People want or deserve, and i think theyre prepared to support somebody whos going to take on the billionaire class and make an economy work for ordinary people not just for the people on top. Well, senator sanders, Hillary Clinton has lost about a third of her supporters since may, but the polls dont show those supporters, a significant number, are not heading your way, why not, given what you said . Well, the poll that i saw said that there was massive enthusiasm for the message that were delivering and the vast majority of people who are voting for me in that iowa poll, im not necessarily antiHillary Clinton, theyre proBernie Sanders, and they want a candidate whos not dependent upon super pacs. A candidate whos prepared to turn over this disastrous citizens united. A candidate help the United States leave the world in combatting Climate Change, make College Affordable to all people. I have to tell you, martha, i think the gains that we are seeing and the enthusiasm and the huge crowds that we are seeing, this is not antiHillary Clinton, this is proBernie Sanders and pro a message that says, enough is enough, this country and our government belong to all of us. Not just a handful of very wealthy people. Senator sanders, this morning, again, we know you have been voicing great concern about the middle class, the cost of college, Climate Change and yet, there are two issues that are entirely missing from your campaign website, and those are issues of National Security and Foreign Policy. Dont you feel these are issues that a president should be very concerned about . Absolutely, martha, and you know, in all fairness, we have only been in this race for 3 1 2 months and we have been focusing quite correctly, as you have indicated, on the economy, on the collapse of the american middle class, on massive income and wealth inequality. But youre absolutely right. Foreign policy is a huge issue. Well spend more time on that. Youre looking at a senator and a former congressman, and as a congressman i voted against the war in iraq, which i think will go down in history as one of the worst foreign Foreign Policy blunders that we have ever seen leading to the enormous destabilization of that region right now. But the issue of Foreign Policy, how we bring the world together, our allies together, not to do it alone to take on isis, to deal with the other threats and problems around the world senator sanders, you brought up the iraq war. You also voted against the first gulf war in 1991. When Saddam Hussein had invaded kuwait. You did not support air attacks after Chemical Attacks in syria, you did support the initial invasion into afghanistan, so, can you tell me what your criteria is for the use of force . Yes, good question, a fair question. Look, i think historically, in too many instances, the United States has gone to war often unilaterally when we should not have. I think my vote against the first war in the gulf region was the right vote, i think we could have gotten Saddam Hussein out of kuwait in a way that did not require a war. Certainly my vote even though he had invaded kuwait . But, the point was, you had the whole world united against him, martha, do we need to go to war in every instance . Can we bring pressure of sanctions and International Pressure to resolve these conflicts. Look, im supporting president obamas effort to make certain that iran does not get a Nuclear Weapon. But i get very nervous about my republican friends who keep implying that the only way we can do that is through war. War is the last resort not the first resort. There are times when you have to use force, no question about it. But that should be the last resort is that were only attacked . If you look at your record, you supported the invasion into afghanistan after we were attacked. Is that the only time you would support it . No, not at all. Not at all. I think using our military is an option, obviously, that we will always have under certain circumstances. But it is the last option. I applaud the president for trying to make certain that we stop iran from getting a Nuclear Weapon but we do it in a way that does not require war. The second point that i would make is, the United States cant do it alone. In the middle east, saudi arabia has the Third Largest military budget in the entire world. Theyre going to have to get in and take on isis as well as other countries in that region. The United States should be supportive. We should be working with other countries. The United States cant always be the only country involved in these wars. Let me go back to the iran agreement that you brought up and your support of that agreement, can you imagine iran or russia signing some sort of agreement in the future, giving your record on your reluctance to use force, because there is always that threat of force, but they may look at you and say, Bernie Sanders wouldnt do anything about this. Well, i think they would be making a very, very big mistake. The United States should have the Strongest Military in the world. We should be working with other countries in coalition. And when people threaten the United States or threaten our allies or commit genocide, the United States, with other countries, should be prepared to act militarily. But i think when we look at our recent history, again, especially the war in iraq, i think history will record that as a terrible mistake which has led to massive destabilization and many other problems. So, yes, there are times when you have to use military force, no question about it. I am prepared to do that. Would you do away with the Drone Program . Would you do away with the Drone Program . Because you have had clearly problems with that. You didnt vote for the cia director because of the Drone Program and how it was run. Martha, what you can argue is that there are times and places where drone attacks have been effective. There are times and places where they have been absolutely countereffective. And have caused more problems than solved. When you kill innocent people, what the end result, people in the region become antiamerican, so, i think we have to use drones very, very selectively and effectively. That has not always been the case. Okay, thank you very much, senator sanders. Now, to the republican side, and it may be the biggest question this morning, will frontrunner donald trump run as a thirdparty candidate or pledge to remain as a republican . This weekend he revealed some new hints. As far as third party is concerned, the Republican Party has been treating me very fairly. All i asked is fairness. Im leading in every poll, in every state, a lot of things are really happening. In terms of victory, that would certainly be the best path to victory. Were going to make a decision very soon. I think a lot of people are going to be very happy. Joining us now louisiana governor and president ial candidate bobby jindal, hes in new orleans to mark the tenth anniversary of hurricane katrina. Governor jindal, good morning. Lets start off with mr. Trumps comments. It sounds like hes going to keep on what he believes is the winning track, remaining as a republican, if hes the nominee would you support him . Good morning, well, obviously, look, i think im going on be the nominee. I think donald trump has done a great job of tapping into the anger and frustration voters feel. What the polls tell me is that nobody has any real votes right now. After we get past this summer of silliness, voters will look at whos prepared to do the job . Who has the bell jones, the courage, the experience . I believe im the candidate best able to do this job on the first day. And ill give you one example, right now the American People are saying we have to shrink the size of the government, grow the american economy, im the only candidate thats actually reduced the size of government but governor jindal, your campaign does not seem to be catching fire at all . Well, look, i disagree with that, were seeing great momentum in iowa, were seeing standingonly crowds. Were going to every county, 99 counties. Doing town halls. Answering their questions. What i see, voters havent committed to any candidate yet. In iowa or the early states. Theyre kicking the tires, theyre asking the tough questions, this is a wideopen race. They certainly seem to be attract donald trump. Donald trump in the last 24 hours, we have heard him accused Hillary Clintons longtime aide, huma abedin of breaking law by passing secrets to her husband, former congressman Anthony Weiner who was caught up in a texts scandal. Lets listen. Hes receiving this very, very Important Information and giving it to hillary . Who else is he giving it to you . He now works for a Public Relations firm. What she did is a very, very dangerous thing for this country and probably a criminal act. Did donald trump cross the line there with those accusations . Well, look, martha, i think theres a broader question in terms of how Hillary Clinton has handled not just her but her staff, how they handled classified information. If a private in the military did what theyre accused of doing, there would be real consequences. There shouldnt be a different set of rules for hillary and her aides. With Hillary Clinton, it just seems to be one scandal after another. Shes literally one email away from going to jail. What i fear is that maybe well have to go to the chinese and russians to actually see her emails. Should donald trump be saying things like that about huma abedin . Martha, look, i think the bigger issue here is the fact that Hillary Clinton seems to think, what difference does it make . She seems to think that the same rules dont apply to her as others. I think the real issue here is, i think the real issue here is, shes not above the law. The real issue is if any private in the military or any other Government Official had handled classified information, there would have been a courtmartial or criminal prosecution or consequences. She shouldnt be above the law. She shouldnt be a different set of rules for our elected leaders than the rest of us. One of the reasons voters are so angry, one of the things that donald trump has tapped into and other candidates have tapped into, is this frustration that American People have this permanent political elite. I want to turn to immigration, i know your parents were legal immigrants, but growing up, a child of indian parents, you had to have experienced being an immigrant, unlike some of the other candidates, most of the other candidates. Is there any part of you, when you hear things being said, derogatory things being said about immigrants, that troubles you as the child of immigrants . Martha, i would say a couple of things. Look, as a child of immigrants my parents have never taken this country for granted. Every single day theyre grateful to live in the greatest country in the history of the world. I think this election is about the idea of america is slipping away in front of us. When it comes to immigration, what i have experienced a strong immigration policy makes our stronger. A dumb one makes us weaker. We have a dumb one today. Yes, we need to secure our border. Stop talking about it. We need to insist that people who come here, come here legally, adopt our values. Im sorry, adopt our values. What values dont immigrants have that you believe americans have. You look at europe, the contrast is immigrants dont consider themselves as part of those societies, those cultures. I think we need to move away from hyphenated americans. Were not africanamericans, asian americans. Were all americans. The reason this is so important, immigration without int intergration, is not immigration is invasion. My parents are proud of their indian heritage. They wanted to come here. We dont make people come here. If they come here, they should want to be americans. To make our country stronger. Governor jindal, i want to turn to katrina. Youre standing there in beautiful jackson square, your thoughts on ten years and could there be that kind of devastation and december destruction again in new orleans . Are you prepared for another katrina . Well, look, three things. First, i think these last ten years have shown the resilience of the American People. When when katrina and rita knocked us to our knees, we got back up. We can go through anything. Secondly, it showed us, these last ten years have shown that American People love each other. The reality is, we were helped by people from all 49 states. They returned to our aid. They came here, theyre still coming to this day. We live in a very generous country. In terms of if it could happen again, our levees are stronger than they have ever been before. We are better prepared. People have their own game plans in term of evacuation routes and shelters. But we must not become complacent. After previous storms, that has happened in our countrys history. We got bipartisan plan with scientific support. Still more work to be done. You sound pretty confident, governor jindal. Im going to wrap it up there. Great to see you standing there in that beautiful square. Thanks very much. Now our closer look at the split verdict in the prep School Sexual assault case, where a former student was accused by a freshman girl. And perhaps the biggest question being asked this morning, was justice served . Heres abcs gio benitez. Guilty or not guilty. Guilty. Reporter 19yearold owen labrie broke down in tears when a jury in New Hampshire found him not guilty. He was acquitted of more serious felony Sexual Assault charges. Not guilty. Reporter at the crux of the case, two was more believable . The 15yearold accuser who claimed she was violated. I didnt kick or scream or really push, but i did say no. I said no three times. Reporter with classes set to start in less than two weeks, a much different road for labrie. Also convicted of a felony, for using a computer to seduce a child, hes also facing possible prison time. For this week, gio benitez, abc news, concord, New Hampshire. Our thanks to gio. And abc chief legal analyst dan abrams joins us now. Hes been following the case from the start. Dan, was justice served here . Was this a compromised verdict . Yeah, i think you can make a very strong argument that justice was served. This is a very tough case for the prosecutors from the beginning. You had these messages that she sent after the fact. That were friendly and flirty. She did the nurse was consensual. It was a very tough case for prosecutors. And yet the jury was also convinced that he lied about whether they had sex. And so, hes facing a series of charges related to the fact that he was 18 and she was 15. He was convicted of all those challenges he would never would have faced if these prosecutors and this jury felt there was more to the story. Youre seeing sort of a compromised verdict. And hes facing real time. The possibility of real time behind bars. Dan, one of the things thats interesting about this, he did face a felony charge, as gio reported, for enticing a minor on a computer, explain that, is that what that law was about . Hes now facing up to seven years. Thats the most serious counterhes facing. Of course this was not the scenario they had in mind when they enacted this law. Think about it, if every senior who sent a message on their computer to a freshman was to be charged and convicted on that crime, we would have a lot of people behind bars. But the reality is, in this case with these facts, these prosecutors believed they could make an argument on it, and clearly these jurors accepted it. I think if you asked all these jurors in other cases, do you think this law should be used to prosecute every 18yearold . Absolutely not. But if you asked them in this case, is it proper to use this law to prosecute this 18yearold . Why, because i think that these jurors were convinced that owen labrie behaved terribly. Dan didnt have enough evidence dan, we have about 50 seconds. The statement from the the statement from the victims parents, critical of the school and the environment there, are schools doing enough to prevent this . Look, i think schools are going to start doing more as a result of a case like this. But i should say, to those who say, a case like this is going to prevent rape victims for coming before, i said its the opposite. Even if they did things wrong after the fact, they could get some amount of justice as was the case here. Okay, thank you so much for joining us, dan. She spoke about it again this week and while clinton has adjusted some of her wording about whether classified information was in her emails perhaps more noticeable, some distinct changes in her tone since the story broke. At that First Press Conference back in march, clinton was resolute, defiant. The laws and regulations in effect when i was secretary of state allowed me to use my email for work. There is no classified materials. Reporter by july, a slight change in response but not the tone. I am confident that i never sent nor received any information that was classified. At the time it was sent and received. Reporter then, she turned to humor. You may have seen that i recently launched a snapchat account. I love it, those messages disappear all by themselves. Reporter then, sarcasm. Did you wipe the server . Like with a cloth or something . Reporter now this week a more contrite tone but no apologies. It clearly wasnt the best choice, i should have used two emails, one personal and one for work, and i take responsibility for that decision. Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar bush joins us now. Shes a Hillary Clinton supporter and author of the new book the senator next door. Senator klobuchar, i wants to get to those emails in a moment. But first, we have to talk about that poll and those numbers. This is clintons lowest support in iowa in any poll in this election cycle. Smallest lead in this election cycle. The pollsters saying, it feels like 2008 all over again. That certainly is not good for Hillary Clinton. I want your response to those polls, whats happening to that campaign . Well, thanks, martha. Being that were in minnesota and that we can see iowa from our march and i have been down there for Hillary Clinton. I have to tell you, her campaign is so much different than 2008, it has energy, it is organized. Its a grassroots campaign. When i look at those numbers, i think of races like Michele Bachmann surging at this point. 2004, Dick Gephardt was surging. I think shes running a strong campaign, she was just in minnesota. I was in the room and saw these delegates from all over the country inspired and enthusiastic and cheering and so, i think you have to look at her energy, how shes responding to these 17 opponents that are, you know, basely attacking her daily. The campaign worry about losing onethird of their support . Well, again i think you have heard from her directly. This is not a coronation. She expected there would be other candidates in the race. You cant just waltz in and win a democratic primary. We have seen many people in the past think they could do that. And thats not what happened. I think she approached this with a vigor from the beginning, having been through this before. That she was going to be scrappy, meeting people. Okay, scrappy scrappy is not one of the words that they describe her in the quinnipiac poll, the language describing Hillary Clinton, lets go through this. Number one is, liar. Followed by dishonest. Followed by untrustworthiness. Well, as someone who has known her since i have been in senate, thats not how i see her. I think we have to step back a little, these debates are coming up. Americans will have an opportunity to see her in a debate format very seen. But clearly, senator, this is about the emails in some ways. If theyre saying liar, dishonest, untrustworthy, that takes you back to this issue of the emails that keep dogging her, should she apologize or should she handle it differently . Well, i really appreciated the tone she had in iowa. You played that, where she talked about how she took responsibility. I think that is the proper way to talk about it. It. Theres a lot of partisan stuff thats going on thats not fair to her. In this case, she had to take responsibility for what she did and she did. She said that she should have had two different emails, which i think is significant here, martha, shes going to be testifying in a public hearing in october. They can ask what questions they want. That will give the American People another opportunity to look at this. Because, when im at the Minnesota State fair, what people are talking about their jobs, theyre talking about, can they send their kids to college . Senator klobuchar, speaking of fairs and speaking of jobs, joe biden, yesterday, was at the democratic jamboree in delaware, what does that tell you . Do you think hell jump in . Well, the last time i checked, joe biden is from delaware, i think its great he is at the fair. Hell make the decision thats best for him and his family. Okay, and i have to ask you one question about your book, its called the senator next door. Its not called the president next door. Any interest from you in a Vice President ial choice. I wrote this book about the need for more people from normal backgrounds to get into politics. Its a very personal memoir how i got to where i am from being a carhop at the a w root beer stand. I read the entire thing. Its a great read. Thank you very much for joining us. Thats very nice, martha. Thank you very much. The roundtable is here now. Former House Speaker newt gingrich. Espns lz granderson. Ap White House Correspondent julie pace and abcs cokie roberts. Boy, do we have a lot to talk about. I hate to keep going back to it, senator klobuchar was not going to criticize Hillary Clinton or whats going on in iowa. Its a big problem for her, she lose big support. However, the same poll shows her with a 778 favorability rating among democrats. Thats nothing to sneeze at. 61 saying they dont care about the emails. Now, the emails democrats . Democrats, exactly. The emails are going to be a drip, drip, drip. And you cant read all the stuff about this one, that one and the other one. And i doubt that many people have. But it has led to what you said, liar, untruthful, all of that. Its led to a lot of people speculating about joe biden. And, julie, you heard Bernie Sanders talking about the support for him, not against Hillary Clinton, i also was astonished by one of the other numbers that in that poll, Hillary Clinton is getting trounced by sanders by 23 points with younger voters. Its really fascinating this iowa poll, the latest poll out of iowa, shows that sanders is picking up support from the people who voted for barack obama in 2008 when he defeated Hillary Clinton in iowa. The question for sanders is, can he take these young people, who have a lot of enthusiasm for his message and turn them into caucusgoers, that takes an enormous amount of organization, playing within the system, but clearly, theres momentum and enthusiasm behind him, which any president ial candidate at this stage of the game say they dont want that would be lying to you. Lz, does sanders take this forward, does that momentum work for him without democratic insiders . Well, i think the real question is, how long will the media allow us characterizing him as a liberal democrat versus a socialist . Which is how he characterized himself. People will then ask themselves, can a socialist win the general election . Thats when youll start to see the tide turn. Right now, a good feeling of the policies hes talking about. These are positive things for his base, but when they start thinking about the general election, that aspect of sanders is going to be quite problematic. Mr. Speaker, i want to go back to the email issue, you said she shouldnt be a candidate of the email . Its an absurdity. Two cia directors who did less than shes done, a National Security adviser stole from the archives lets mention the fact that she says nothing was marked classified and they were later classified. Although, nobody can pass on classified emails. Huma having multiple jobs while serving in the state department. Representing clients on the emails to the secretary of state about trips to dublin. This is such a conflict of interest. By a family whose practice has been at least since the early 90s to have conflicts of interest and stone wall and hope they can survive. Its very hard to win the presidency and the thing that criticizes both the Sanders Campaign and Trump Campaign is authenticity. The American People know the system isnt working. Theyre sick of politics as usual. Biden should look at this. Hes a very popular person. Hes not going to take any votes from sanders. And in the long run, you have authenticity versus the old order. I want to stay on the emails for one minute. The Washington Post on thursday said this, after talking with a half dozen knowledgeable lawyers, i think this socalled scandal is overstated. Using the server was a selfinflicted wound by clinton but its not something that a prosecutor would take to court. How does David Ignatius know that . Several cia so, why is it different . Pinocchios, right . She got two pinocchios on her statements about the emails. Not the four, which would be liar, liar, pants on fire. But this is the fact is, its parsing. And the question is, how voters respond to that . Can i just do very quickly around the table, and well be back as we know, does joe biden get in . We saw him at that jamboree yesterday. I know he lives in delaware. I dont think so. I think the response out of the dnc this week was pretty discouraging. Julie . Several people close to him say its probably unlikely. Lz . No. I just think its to wrong year. Ox, thanks very much. Coming up, the republican race, can anyone break Donald Trumps growing lead . Plus, were live with the reporter who took on trump, jorge ramos is next. Who took on trump, jorge ramos is next. Okay, whos next . Yeah, please. Excuse me, sit down. You werent called. Sit down, sit down. Sit down. Go back to univision. Then, all of this sudden, this guy gets up, starts screaming at the top of his lungs. It was unfair to the other reporters. He was totally out of line. He was screaming, ranting and raving. When this clown, jorge ramos, he seemed like a nice guy after he calmed down a little bit. Donald trump just wont stop talking about jorge ramos, anchor at our Sister Network fusion, after that Testy Exchange over immigration and jorge joins us now. Good morning, jorge. Good morning. Donald trump is not backing down, he said he got a lot of credit for the way he handled that. Trumps seems to think he benefitted from that confrontation. Do you think he benefited among his supporters . Well, i dont know exactly, but i think its very important that as journalists we challenge those who are in power. And i think its very dangerous that he wants to do the mass deportation in history, that would cost more than 137 billion. And i think its very dangerous that hes promoting in his speeches bigotry and hatred against immigrants. After i was expelled from that press conference, i saw a man, trump sympathizer who said, get out of my country. Interesting because im also a u. S. Citizen. But this happened just seconds after he told me, go back to univision. Those messages of hatred thats precisely what trump is promoting. Jorge, did you want a confrontation . We have seen that video. You stood up. You kept talking. You kept trying to get your question in. Is that what you wanted, a confrontation . No, what i wanted was answers. As you know, im just a reporter asking questions. And i send him a note requesting an interview, and instead of responding to that note, he published my cell phone on the internet and, of course, i had to change my cell phone. He wasnt going to call me. What happened is, i allowed two reporters, then i said, i have a question on immigration. Nobody said anything. He stayed silent. And when i started stating the premise of my question, which is that he cant deport 11 million or build a 1900mile wall or deny citizenship to the children born here, he clearly didnt like my question, he did something very strange with his mouth, he signaled his bodyguard to take me out of the press conference. Thats exactly what he did. Jorge i want answers. You have been very open about being an advocate for certain things, you said to george this week, we have to denounce that he wants to deny citizenship to children being born here, youre saying much the same this morning, does that put you in a difficult position covering the campaigns . I dont think so. I think that, as a reporter, many times you have to take a stand when it comes to racism, discrimination, corruption, public life, dictatorships. And human rights. We have to take a stand. The best examples of journalism i have cronkite during the vietnam war or the Washington Post reporters forcing the resignation of the richard nixon, thats when reporters challenged those in power. Its our responsibility to do that. I find it ironic that im being criticized for asking questions. Jorge, youre an enormously popular anchorman, the most wellknown Spanish Language anchor in america. So, tell me what effect this will have, what effect will this have in your community and those who watch you . Well, i just want to say, if donald trump wants to change this country the way hes proposing, he has to be challenged, and this is whats going to happen. Latinos wont forget this, 60 million latinos will go to the polls next year and, just to put in perspective, that number, president barack obama won by less than 5 million votes. In other words, latinos could define this election. In a year from now, im truly convinced, both parties, including republicans and donald trump is the creation of the Republican Party, both parties will be pleading for hispanic votes because no one at this time, no one can make it to the white house without okay, jorge, im going to thank you and stop you there. But thank you very much for joining us this morning and im going to take that. I saw you nodding your head, cokie roberts. Well, hes an absolute icon in the hispanic community, i mean he is a very, very big deal, and you know, hes also sort of someone they swoon over. Lets go to this question about trump. He can say anything among his supporters. He can also hurt the Republican Party big time. And does he hurt the Republican Party big time, mr. Speaker . I doubt it. Could he be the nominee . Yes. You think he could be the nominee . Absolutely. How does he do it . Well, first of all, if youre ahead everywhere and your lead is increasing as it is in iowa among republicans first you have to become the nominee. I think you might be surprised. How does he win without the hispanic vote . How does anybody win without the hispanic vote . Jorge ramos clearly his opponent hes an advocate. Hes the opponent of donald trump. Every night on univision, he opposes the Republican Party. Every night. I think he opposes bigotry. I dont think he opposes the Republican Party. He gets to define bigotry. But wait a second, let me given a example. I happen to believe that the United States has both a moral and legal obligation to control its border. I think we have an obligation to stop terrorists. I think we have an obligation to kick out the gang from el salvador all right, i want to move off immigration and just really look at some of these numbers, too, and some of the descriptions of donald trump. Arrogant, blowhard, idiot and clown. This was in the quinnipiac poll. Can a guy with those descriptions be president . I think its hard to imagine being president and getting through a general election with those qualities. And certainly, though, theres something appealing with those negative descriptions. Its this authenticity, its this unscriptedness, the fact that hes not beholden to the system. We were talking about ben carson which is even more fascinating. Scott walker. You have to look at the dive that scott walker took what do they do to catch up . Scott walker was very thin. I remember when you interviewed him, he was ready for the first question, he wasnt ready for the followup questions. He was extremely thin. Others are starting to fall by the wayside, they came out as people who were into policy, but once you started diving into it, doing a little bit more surgery into what their policy was i think they have to be paying attention to ben carson. Oh, were paying attention to ben carson. Up next, the gulf coast, ten years after katrina after this from our abc stations. My name is mark amann. Im a gas service rep for pg e in san jose.
