Police now say that Robin Williams was being treated for depression at the time of his death and while they do believe he died in a suicide, they say this case will remain open as they await the results of a toxicology test. This morning, investigators releasing new details about the final hours of comedy icon Robin Williams life. Authorities say the oscarwinning actors wife Susan Schneider last saw him when she went to bed at 10 30 sunday night. Police say when she left the house monday morning, she thought williams was still asleep. At 11 45 a. M. , williams assistant knocked on his bedroom door and became concerned when she got no response. It was his assistant who called 911. The personal assistant was able to gain access to mr. Williams bedroom and entered to find mr. Williams clothed in a seated position unresponsive. Apparent Suicide Attempt by hanging. Reporter the comedian also found with superficial cuts on his wrist and a pocketknife nearby. Emergency workers pronouncing williams dead at 12 02 p. M. Two High School Football players convicted of sexually assaulting a 16yearold girl two years ago. One of those players has served his time and hes now back on the football field and abcs alex perez with the story this morning. Reporter this morning, 18yearold Malik Richmond is back on the steubenville High School Football team after a rape conviction that ignited a national firestorm. His probation officer defending the schools decision allowing him back on the roster. I think the boy should be allowed to play. Malik richmond has done everything thats been asked of him. Reporter a judge found richmond and fellow student trent mays guilty last year of sexually assaulting a 16yearold girl after a night of alcohol and partying in august of 2012. All shame on you. Reporter the case sparked outrage on social media after this picture went viral. Mays and richmond carrying the 16yearold girl who appears to be unconscious by her hands and feet. This Youtube Video showing another student who wasnt involved laughing about the incident. She is so raped right now. Reporter moments after his conviction, richmond turned to the family of the victim and begged for forgiveness. Im sorry to put you guys through this. In an interview for 20 20 before the trial richmond told abcs Elizabeth Vargas he didnt think it was rape. I didnt rape anybody. I didnt witness a rape going on and if i would have thought that somebody was being raped or anything like that i would have stopped it. Reporter richmond sentenced to a year at a juvenile Detention Center served nearly 10 months and was released in january. And the Ohio High School Athletic Association says this is a local school decision. We did reach out to Steubenville High School for comment but our calls were not returned. Now, under the terms of his release richmond must register as a sex offender every six months for the next 20 years. Robin. All right, alex, thank you. Now to a possible break in that Brooklyn Bridge mystery. Two men coming forward claiming responsibility. Telling the New York Times they swapped out the two american flags with these two bleached flags. Abcs linsey davis has that story for us. Reporter this morning, two artists are coming forward claiming responsibility for replacing the two american flags on top of the Brooklyn Bridge with a pair of bleached out old glories last month saying they dont understand the backlash. They consider their swap a work of art. German artist mischa leinkauf and Matthias Wermke shared this 30 seconds of cryptic video with the New York Times in an attempt to prove they pulled off the epic feat. It was quite clear they scoped this out and that they saw there were not Security Cameras and felt they were not being seen and i think they did it because they saw the bridge as a symbol for them of lots of Different Things including freedom and opportunity. Now theyre offering something you could call the most unusual accessory to murder, siri. For the first time jurors hearing tuesday about a chilling inquiry prosecutors say was made by a man who murdered his best friend. They found a siri search on pedro bravos iphone reading i need to hide my roommate but the defense pointing out the screen grab was among hundreds on bravos phone and theres no way to know if bravo asked that question. Its a screen shot from an iphone. Its probably not mr. Bravos iphone. Reporter hes accused of drugging and strangling his friend inside his suv in 2012, a murder prosecutors claimed was fueled by a fit of jealousy after bravo learned aguilar was dating his exgirlfriend from high school. The medical examiner testified about the fragments of duct tape found on the victims body. The tape appeared to be looped about both wrists. And i saw them. Reporter on monday the jury hearing directly from the accused killer as his interrogation tapes played in court. Bravo admitting to police he did see aguilar on the night of his death. He got out of the car and i saw him and after that i remember going in the car and i remember seeing him in my rear view mirror while i was driving away. Reporter the prosecution agreed that bravo did drive away but they allege with aguilars body in the back of bravos suv before he stashed it in a forest. Did you obtain a search warrant for the bedroom of pedro bravo . Yes. Reporter the florida man who pleaded not guilty sat stonefaced throughout what seemed more damning police testimony. The wallet belonged to Christian Aguilar with the debit card, credit cards and drivers license. Where were those items located . Inside the closet of pedro bravos closet. Reporter now, coming up today were told to expect another Police Forensics expert could be bruising to bravos case. Now, his defense is expected to get the case later in this week. All right, matt, thank you. We turn to that Phoenix Family who allegedly made crime a family business. Shoplifting thousands of dollars of merchandise. Two of them were caught on camera pepper spraying a Security Guard after allegedly stealing from that mall. Abcs nick watt with the story. Reporter the cops Tay Terry Vargas is stuffing stolen goods into a bag. She is picked up again hurrying out of the mall in arizona with her alleged accomplice brother mario. A Security Guard is in relatively hot pursuit. Then watch Phoenix Police say mario blasts him with pepper spray. Cops say theyve never seen anything like the gang theyve dubbed the family affair. Never a family and especially at this magnitude. Reporter behind that tree the guard is again trying to grab the brother and sister suspects, beaten back by another cloud of spray. Vargas and vargas make it to the suspected getaway car. Their gang has allegedly stolen more than 15,000 worth of merchandise since november from the likes of victorias secret and dillards. This one in a display of Baby Products and strollers and one behind this stack of paper towels and toilet paper. A scene reminiscent from the movie where the heart is. A pregnant Natalie Portman forced to live in a walmart after being abandoned by her boyfriend. There are worse places to stay than this. Reporter customers stunned. You would never expect someone is living there and living there for four days. Thats crazy relationship the teen apparently stole items from the tore to eat and slept in this makeshift bed. To avoid suspicion, the boy even took clothes from the rack changing his outfit every few hours, even using diapers instead of the bathroom to avoid detection. Im wondering what his parents think and how come he didnt come home or why arent they worried about him. Reporter but it was this trail of trash that led walmart workers to his hiding place. The boy tried to run off but was caught before he could get away. It doesnt appear that the boy is homeless. State Officials Say he was living with relatives when he disappeared. This morning, walmart is not commenting and police tell abc news they had not heard about this case and filed no charges. This, the latest in a several years long custody battle with exhusband daniel giersch. Nothing ruins a family reputation faster than a money fight. Reporter rutherford known for her tv on gossip girl lives in new york while giersch lives in france. Their two children, ages 7 and 5 are currently with rutherford in new york but are required to return to their father who has primary custody in france next week. Rutherford now asking a court to stop that from happening and require the government to take legal custody of her children, ensuring they remain in the united states. This is a clever attempt on her attorneys part to circumvent the state Court Family Law judge and go directly to the federal courts claiming that her children essentially are being deported. Reporter two years ago a california judge ruled the couples two children should live in france with their father after visiting him there over the summer. Giersch, a german citizen had moved there after their separation and did not have a valid american visa. Rutherford sat down with gma in 2012 after the courts ruling. Not too long ago my nephew got bit by a shark and theres been a rise in shark attacks in hawaii and my pursuit was just to find out why. Reporter in discoverys sharkageddon, kala teams with marine biologists who examine why theres been a spike in shark attacks. Basically in the last two years there have been 22 attacks, so thats been four times as much attacks than any year previously recorded. Reporter is it a case of mistaken identity . Kalas team put together a dangerous and stunning experiment. We actually did an experiment with a local marine biologist, juan olafante, and we had him on the surfboard and had a fake turtle and the shark definitely went after the turtle. Look at that. There they go. There they go. There they go. Reporter leading them to an eyeopening discovery.
