This morning, a desperate search now under way after the deadliest earthquake in morocco in more than 60 years. Rescuers in remote, mountainous areas in a race against time, digging through the destruction for signs of life, working on top of now flattened concrete walls, searching for people trapped beneath. Many buildings here made from basic materials, standing little chance against powerful tremors. Rocks littering mountain roads, hampering rescue efforts with moroccos military deployed to help. In some villages, they are already burying the dead. Morocco beginning three days of national mourning. So far more than 2,000 people confirmed killed with a similar number injured according to moroccan officials. But amid such widespread devastation in hard to reach areas, the true number of missing and dead is still not clear. From inside of a hurricane hunter, this going through lee, a c130 going through and doing its reconnaissance runs, and what they have found is while lee has lost strength, its still a really strong hurricane right now, and going to make its way off to the north. So category 2 hurricane goes up to a category 3 and 4, and again, as it makes its way into cooler water and a little bit more wind shear, it does lose some strength, but i dont want you to think this wont be a strong storm. Going up toward nova scotia, and it goes around the highpressure system, and this is the big deal here, waves that are 15 to 25 feet close to the core as it makes its way to nova scotia, and along the jaliscos, 5 to 15, and that will create those dangerous rip currents starting today, a moderate risk there along the coast of florida and into georgia, and then all the way up through maine from bar harbor to miami. Dickey was part of an expedition mapping the vast morca cave when he became suddenly ill, suffering gastrointestinal bleeding. Turkish rescuers now using explosives to blast open passages of the cave to safely rescue dickey. Officials saying hes being pulled up on a stretcher with a doctor and three to four others to assist every step of the way. By now theyve encountered vertical pitches. Reporter dickey appearing to be in good spirits, sharing a laugh as he waits to be rescued. Officials say they have split the cave extraction into seven sections based on depth with one rescue team responsible for each layer. On saturday, the initial operation began to move dickey about 1,000 feet. If you take their goal for today and take how far he is, it would be five days. I suspect its going to take longer. Reporter dozens of special rescuers from across europe racing to help, providing dickey with lifesaving care. Im not healed on the inside yet, so im going to need a lot of help to get out of here. Reporter you can see in that video how difficult the terrain is that theyre dealing with right now, and its going to take some time, as well as for those crews to widen the passages, and also theres a chance for rain in the coming days, and that could complicate this rescue that is still it has a long way to go. I think its amazing this year to get together and talk about equality and figure out answers to equality. You know, we keep saying it, but how do we actually achieve it . And thats the hard part. In 1973, the u. S. Open was the first one to have equal prize money for men and women, and it took us another 34 years to get the other three majors or grand slams to also have equality. Reporter still, king says, the fight for equal pay is far from over. Men and women receive equal pay at the grand slam tournaments, but not at other tennis events. Thats true. Theres a wta effort right now under way to try to fix some of that, so to speak, over the next ten years. Yes. But some athletes say, look. This needs to happen faster. Well, the challenge we have, weve gone from 4 to 5 of the media, and when we only get 5 of the media, we wont get the media rights the men do.
