Landed the plane, and reportedly left through the window on a rope and thats when the copilot asked for asylum in switzerland. Hes now been arrested. Hes being questioned by police. The airline said if in a statement, all of the 200 passengers and crew on board were safe. Theyve since been taken off the plane. There were no injuries. Police say the situation is under control. An Ethiopian Airlines jet is safe on the ground after being hijack by a member of its crew. Swiss police surrounded the boeing 767 when it touched down and arrested the copilot who diverted the plane from rome to switzerland. The copilot locked the cockpit drawer after the captain used the restroom and hijacked the flight. They landed in switzerland. The copilot was seeking asylum because he faced some sort of danger at home in ethiopia. The flight was headed for rome. Italian fighter jets escorted the plane until it entered swiss airspace.
