Good good morning, carolyn. I probably heard about the heat advisory and all the way down the coast. And the east bay the temperatures will be five to ten degrees warmer. We woke up to 46 degrees Half Moon Bay, now in the 60s. So just in a couple of hours the temperatures have jumped along the coast. Thats where its going to be really warm, as well. So theres your weather, but as soon as tomorrow we are going to see a return to the on shore push. But everyone this morning is warmer out there. A beautiful shot from our exploratorium camera. San francisco, you will approach 90 degrees in some spots. Thats the 100degree read to go 104 inland east bay. Midand upper 90s around the bay. But fall arrives, and even before fall we will have some much better air and cooler air. More to come. Carolyn. Lisa, thank you. Breaking overnight, a tense standoff is over in san jose. Ym Police Received reports last night of a man firing shots into an unoccupied vehicle. The officers located him inside a residence near capital expressway and mclaughlin avenue, but he refused to come out. Police fired flash bang grenades and he did exit the house about 2 30 this morning. He was put on a stretcher and taken to a hospital. Earlier reports that this is a hostage situation could not be confirmed. Police are not speculating on what may have led to this incident. Two victims of a driveby shooting on a San Francisco freeway are recovering this morning from gunshot wounds. Traffic on interstate 280 was backed up for hours from that incident. Police say someone in a car fired shots at another. We have the latest. This is not the type of Family Reunion they wanted, but they are here to say their prayers for two of their loved ones. Around 4 30 our vehicle was traveling on that intersection when another vehicle opened fire on that vehicle, striking the driver and the passenger several times. San francisco fire crews heard on this dispatch recording arrived to find the victims. On scene. Two gunshot victims. One hit in the side, one in the head. Both of still conscious. Gunshots confirmed. Reporter Police Say One victim was hot shot in the leg and neck and one in the leg. It is on the south connector. Relatives say they will make it through. Now police are hoping to learn from the victims what may have led to the shooting on this busy stretch of highway. We dont have a motive. We do not know if its gangrelated. However, all of our stabbings and shootings are reviewed by the Gang Task Force to see if they are gangrelated. A viewer sent us this tweet. A photo showing the Traffic Congestion that lasted for two hours before the scene was cleared. A rare incident that shocked many weekend commuters traveling through a seemingly save area. In San Francisco, abc7 news. A bicyclist was seriously injured last night after being hit by a car in golden gate park. It happened around 8 30 at the intersection of 19th avenue and Martin Luther king, jr. Drive. The victims injuries are considered lifethreatening. Police say the driver stopped and is cooperating. Nb now to the latest on the valley fire. We have some progress to report on efforts to contain the flames. Cal fire said the 74,000acre fire is now 50 contained. Lake county Officials Say they will lift a mandatory Evacuation Order for the communities of Hidden Valley lake, jerusalem grade, grange road and butts canyon road at noon. Thats for residents only. Nearly 600 homes have been destroyed. In total 888 structures burned. Three people have died in the fire and many have gotten word in calistoga they will finally be able to go home today. Melanie has that story. Ellen marsh is spending one more night at the napa cot county fair ground. Her Hidden Valley lake house destroyed by fire, she now calls middletown her home, but is not allowed to go there. Because i didnt have physical proof of my address, so i couldnt get the pass. For those blocked by road closers and not able to return home, there is plenty of food and assistance, ranging from clean clothes to a clean cot. I have a skill that i think makes people feel better, so i thought i would come up and see if i could brighten someones day. For most, anticipation looms on what will be left standing. But his anticipation is different. Hes waiting to get into a suburb of cobb. All of us who live in that area are desperately waiting for the closer to be lifted so we can go and find our friends. He said his friend ross litchman refused to leave when the fire broke. His home did not make it. No one has seen or heard from rob since the fire came through that area. Some had no idea what they would find. Its a painful homecoming for this cervantes family. Their house was destroyed by the valley fire. This is bad. Its really bad. He has lived here 30 years, raising a family. We have to start all over again, but life moves on. You cant worry about this forever. This is a wheel of the mustang. The fire took all of Danial Curtis prize possessions, his mustang and the 1968 gto he was restoring. His home reduced to ashes. Its hard to believe everything you have been working for a lifetime is gone. You look around an you see the neighbors. I am the one crying and hes the one who lost his home. Down the road, charles Appliance Store survived burks his heart with his neighbors. Knowing that we can be there for them is so important right now. Especially for the people who have lost their homes, people i also know that lost their life. The red cross is now open to shelter here at the twin pine casino for fire evacuees who dont want to return to the napa county fair grounds. The shelter will be open until further notice. In middletown, Cornell Bernard, abc7 news. A baby girl owes her life to a state game warden who drove through the flames of the valley fire. When the fire started eight days ago 11monthold jesse and her grandmother were trapped in the mountains. Her parents werent allowed to get them because of the intense flames. The warden raced through to rescue them and snapping this picture to show the baby was okay. I want to say thank you very much, and if it wasnt for you, my family probably wouldnt have made it down in time. Thank you. If it wasnt for him, i wouldnt have my daughter or my mom. A huge thank you. Their home burned to the ground. But the woods say they are just grateful for warden little and that they are all survived. And in heelsburg a fundraiser will be held at the Hoot Owl Creek vineyard. Its in alexander valley. Organizers are hoping to raise 500,000. Napa businesses and vineyards are among the many that will be making contributions. And following up on a story we brought you yesterday. The Sonoma County youth football squad and their cheer group will deliver toys to the kids at the moose lodge evacuation center. Teen members held a toy drive before yesterdays game at the high school. They will be in uniform when they deliver those toys to the evacuees to make the day even more special for those waiting to return home. A new wildfire is growing south of monterey and salinas. The tassajara fire started around 3 00 yesterday afternoon near jamesburg. This is video from the monterey herald. 1200 acres has burned. The fire is 10 contained. Authorities announced a mandatory evacuation from one area. The for the ranch area. California fire say at least 300 homes are in danger and six have been destroyed. And the butte fire burning in gold country has destroyed an additional 250 homes, bringing the total residences destroyed to more than 500. That fire is burning in amador and calaveras counties and its charred more than 75,000 acres and is 70 contained. Evacuation orders for several communities have been lifted. At one point the robbery suspect drove into john coming traffic, slamming head on into another s. U. V. This is the 21yearold arizona landscaper who was arrested in connection to a string of highway shooting in that state. He told prosecutors they have arrested the wrong guy. But his gun has been linked to four shootings along interstate 10 in phoenix. He was taken into custody one week and is being held on Million Dollars bail. San francisco supervisors will decide this week whether to erect a memorial to a group of women who were sex slaves in world war ii. Most of those survivors are now in their 80s and 90s, including a woman who received an honor at city hall last week. She traveled from seoul to San Francisco to tell her story about 200,000 women from pacific rim nations taken from their homes in world war ii by the Japanese Imperial army, forced to become what the japan government euphemistically called comfort women for their soldiers. In fact, already temperatures on the coast from monterey to santa cruz has come up from 10 to 14 degrees from our overnight lows at about 5 00 this morning. Mid80s will be common from Half Moon Bay to association beach. This is not going to last. We are warming quickly with an offshore flow, and a huge ridge of High Pressure that is pressing down on the atmosphere and bringing us poor air quality. 65 in santa rosa. Looks pretty nice here, but even San Francisco, well, near 90 degrees in some spots. Another look at your air quality alert.
